I went to the bother of making and posting this in my local lclub so thought I would share with you guys too.
I decided it was high time I got my finger out and gave the RA a proper clean - I've only had it 2 years Though I'm starting to wish I hadnt as it's shown me what a state its really in!
First I rinsed with the power washer then snow foamed with Meguiars
Rinsed again and then applied Wolfs Decon Gel to get rid of contaminents. It turns bright purple as it bleeds down the bodywork!
Then applied and rinsed off Tardis to complete the decontamination. I then moved the car into the garage to pat dry with a big fluffy cloth I got from Polished Bliss a week or so ago. The paintwork was very smooth after this so I never bothered with the clay. No pics of this process.
I then moved onto protecting the paintwork since i had stripped it bare of all contaminents. At this point I have to thank BrianM for giving me his Jeff's Werkstat products on a day where he was less than fresh from the night before. Thanks Brian!
So I started off with Jeffs Werkstat Prime to act as a base to the top coats of sealant. I did the whole car at once with this and found I was only supposed to take it a little at a time. It was a NIGHTMARE to remove!
Once I managed ot lose half my body weight in sweat trying to get the prime off, I applied Jeff's Werkstat Sealant to the entire car - one panel at a time :lol2: Pics below are of the paintwork after finishing with the sealant.
These were taken at lunchtime today...
So this evening the detailing continued and after applying 3 consecutive coats of wolfs decon over 3 days, i finally go the lions share of pad material off of the P1 wheels. So today I sealed them up with Autoglym Aerosol Alloy Wheel Sealant, just spray on and buff of. Thats all well and good with wheels that have 5 or less spokes, the P1's have ten, safe to say I wont be doing thaty again in a long time! Anyway, the results of my labour today can be seen in the pics below...
