  1. Welcome, Debs! Funky username
  2. Like the "cold filtered" theme
  3. Hello, glad to have you here
  4. I never had a problem with the spec
  5. Cheers for the tip I did consider the hoover, but thought that might be a bit wacky... the neighbours are going to love this Huvnae got a Dyson, but never mind - p'raps I could take the Panasonic upright across to Andy Forrest for a couple mods prior to doing the job!
  6. Cheers for confirming, mate
  7. P.S. Can anyone recommend a method of removing deid beasts from one's intercooler?
  8. Here it is - slightly surprised at how dirty/tarnished it looks compared with other bits and bobs around the engine bay: Looks like a factory part as far as I can tell, what do you reck?
  9. I still look at those and think "wish I could have wan a' them!"... Same with Ford Capris
  10. Your old wheels were nice in their own right Cathy, but your new ones suit your particular car much better! Car's fair taking a pampering of late is it no'? Hope the horses aren't getting jealous...
  11. Great-looking unmolested classic in its natural habitat!
  12. Cheers min. Just to be clear, that pic isn't my car - just wanted to know which bit to point the camera at
  13. Vital pics of a great-looking car!
  14. Cheers John, good plan - I'll try to do that. In the meantime - just so's I know which bit to photograph - can someone confirm or otherwise that the arrowed component in the following pic is the factory recirc valve: [pic removed]
  15. That's interesting Kenny - it does have a kind of 'exhausty' odour... you know - not quite as strong as raw petrol. I suppose that wouldn't rule out air leaks and the like around the turbo either. Hmmmm.
  16. It hasn't been fitted with an induction kit and I'm not sure whether an aftermarket dump valve has been fitted. It does give off a quite noticeable (and rather appealing) whooshing sound between gear changes, but not quite the sharp 'pssssssst' I would have expected to hear from a non-OEM dump valve. How would I know if an atmospheric DV has been fitted? How might it differ in appearance from the standard 'recirculation valve'? (if that's the correct term - my experience fiddling around with turbo'd motors is practically nil). Cheers.
  17. I'm smelling petrol while stationary and idling. Only ever appears once the engine has warmed up and cannot be smelt when on the move. It's been there since I bought the car a couple of months back. Had the dealer check it out, but they weren't able to find a leak or anything else obvious. However, I'd like to know what's causing it... Any idea what this could be? Car is a '06 STI. Cheers.
  18. It's not an area I know particularly well, but I did drive the A82 up the side of Loch Ness once and it was well nice. Apologies if you were looking for something more obscure!
  19. Sorry to hear about that. Happened to me years ago outside my then-girlfriend's flat - luckily one of the neighbours caught the schemies at it and chased them away before they got any further. Wasn't as nice a car as a Scooby mind
  20. Hi and welcome Black Blob with black wheels always does it for me!
  21. Cannae decide whether you look more like John Wayne or John Higgins... Did you enjoy having a throbbing beast between your legs?
  22. P.S. Certainly the 2.5 engines have a forged crank and forged conrods over the WRX's cast items.
  23. Interesting. I can only say that everything I've ever read about the 2.5 suggested that they all come with the same cast pistons, WRX or STI, saloon or hatch...Don't get me wrong, as a Hawkeye STI owner I'll be most gladified if you turn out to be correct!
