  1. Aye, that's what I was on about too - the closer ratios make it easier to stay wherever in the rev range it is that you want to be. I love it, one of the nicest features of the STI I'm intrigued by the quickshift linkage - do you know if they do one for the 6-speed?
  2. P.S. I believe that the earlier 6-speeders were lower-geared than the more recent ones... the change might've been made when they switched to the 2.5L, but I'm not 100% about that.
  3. Yes - and it means you can always find the right gear! I'd take a 7-speed if they did one...
  4. Good plan mate - they're handy when you arrive home in the car in the dark too.
  5. Fair enough! In all seriousness, it's different strokes for different folks, eh?
  6. True, but 21st century crash protection comes at a price
  7. Aye, by a mere 10 posts, I might add Anyway, after the pics I ought to thank you for curing me of my car-wash/soap-suds fetish
  8. Seriously - than STI 8s?
  9. Cheers John. Aye, it was the Storm Force item I was considering - looks like a quality item.
  10. Q. How do you circumcise a Fifer...? A. Kick his sister in the jaw.
  11. I'll trade a "like ken" and a "ken eh" for your "by de way" and a "so it is"... It's all relative - the west coast banter sounds just as twee and cute to us as the east coast stuff does to you guys/gals (Even if yeese do sound like ye toke on helium for breakfast - haw haw).
  12. P.S. Think we could sticky this?
  13. Yes, quite unlike that high-pitched, nasal and frankly eunuch-like Strathclyde twang Must be the wet weather that prevents yer Devina McCalls from dropping until you reach retirement age
  14. Hey sir - less of the 'west coast', eh?
  15. Looked cracking. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would buy a newage
  16. Cheers - sounds like the V LTD was a great car.
  17. Hi mate - how does the STI compare with the V-LTD?
  18. OK - either y'all drive below 50mph on the open road as it is, or you're that far above the speed limit it makes hee-haw odds to you
  19. His 'hoes'.
  20. Can't believe that I broke out a few bars of "Male Stripper" at the bottom of some thread yesterday... ...and didn't even make the list!
  21. Cheers for the info Graeme and for quelling my curiosity, you truly are a walking Impreza spec. sheet (No doubt if I'd asked the same question over on ScoobyNet they'd have called my mother a libidinous wh0re or worse ).
  22. Thank you. That's interesting, because I gathered there were two 'revisions' of the Blob STI. Any idea what was changed between the two?
  23. Well, at least not as part of a 'blanket' reduction: http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page20803
  24. I hear a lot of chat about this "STI 7", that "STI 8" and even the odd "STI 9"... Whazzit all mean? How does this numbering scheme relate to Classics, Bugeyes, Blobeyes, Hawkeyes, Hatches and the like? And what happened to STIs 1-6? Don't seem to hear much about them... Yours as ever, Confused from Central.
