  1. Not sure what made me think of this, but... Internet forum trolls. Don't feed them!
  2. Cheers John, I understand. As you say, at under £100 it could probably be considered a "might as well while I'm at it" upgrade
  3. So you definitely prefer the Spec C, but perhaps not so clear-cut for the other Scoobs?
  4. Prodrive include a fuel pump: http://www.prodrive.com/up/06MY%20STi%20PPP.pdf As do ScoobyWorld: http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/produ...roducts_id=1505 Regarding Andy Wood - OK, so he calls it a 'Level 2' once you throw in the fuel pump and aftermarket air filter, but given the meagre performance figures quoted for his 'Level 1' mod (290bhp-300bhp) I can't see why anyone with a 2.5 STI (276-ish bhp) wouldn't want to add the fuel pump and air filter for a more worthwhile 340-360 bhp (figures quoted for full decat, but I can't see the sports cat being too far off the bottom end of that on the 2.5 STI).
  5. Interesting to hear your take on "Evo vs Scooby", Joe. Never driven an Evo, but from reviews I have this picture of them having really sharp steering (very cool), but hellish harsh ride quality (not so cool). Any truth to that?
  6. I'm surprised you say that, John - Andy Forrest, Scoobyworld and Prodrive all spec one for their 'stage 1' performance upgrades...
  7. I reckon that after being subjected to my rotten patter for an afternoon you'll be looking for £20 from me as compensation! Glad you're enjoying the saloon... and shouldn't we be referring to it as the "Cathyalunya"?
  8. Thanks again for all the info guys - all very useful stuff John, I did indeed intend to write 'fuel pump'... just a dumb typo. Nevertheless, the last time I handled a fuel pump, they were purely mechanical, sat on the end of the camshaft, and cost about £12 from the main dealer! (and a fuel filter cost about £1.75)
  9. Typical! Are you still enjoying the new ride, apart from this tracker kerfuffle? Gosh darnit - and that could've been a great reason to turn up for the next Borders meet! Should've made it twenty bucks...
  10. P.S. No-one mentioned maintenance to me when I had mine re-subscribed in my name... hmmmm...
  11. A tenner says they're charging £80 to have a guy come out and replace some tiny internal battery...
  12. Sounds like a nightmare... there's always one So how do the Scoobs compare with the Evo?
  13. Cheers for all the replies guys OK, it sounds very much like a remap is in order after fitting a sportscat exhaust. I had hoped I might be able to carry out a 'stage 1' engine performance mod (exhaust, air filter, fuel filter and map) in separate installments, but given that the exhaust+map really make up the bulk of the expense, I'd be as well doing the lot in an Elsie Tanner. Better start saving then... (or at least clearing the current backlog of tick! ). Just one question about the sportscat system itself... is it a full system from the manifold back? i.e. are both the factory cats replaced with one (or two) 'sports' cats? Or some other configuration? Thanks again
  14. Not a bad run of motors there, Joe - Spec C's certainly something a bit special I had been driving for eight years before I broke the 100bhp-per-tonne threshold (and not for want of trying, either) What went wrong with the Evo then?
  15. Does anyone know of an off-the-shelf 'sportscat' system for a MY06 2.5 STI? I'd be interested to know the going rate. Also, is a remap absolutely necessary to avoid fecking anything? Thanks.
  16. "Knockers Today" Sounds a sister publication to the The Daily Sport...
  17. Happy birthday Bobby - big deep breath afore ye blaw oot aw they caunles, eh?
  18. Quite - three days' build-up before xmas day would suffice IMHO! Whit?! The wee green kint's a legend ! Not to mention Fozzy, the stand-up genuis... and Rowlf 'King of the Keys'
  19. Urban, shmurban! The GREY Hawk STI Owners' club it is
  20. Mine never had one - have I been did? Always thought it was just the RB320s that came with the lower splitter as standard...
  21. Snap! Moan the metallic grey Hawk STIs! Hey - me, you and Wulsey could start oor own owners' club
  22. Jings - I actually read that as "Scoobie Pants", and reading that the last poster was someone called "Skidmarkmccormack" did nothing to alert me to my mistake!
