Sounds like it's the piston thats gone, most likely ringland failure... sorry to say at that sorta mileage I don't think you'll have a claim I'm afraid. Fixable, yes... but never particularly cheap. Good excuse for a forged engine rebuild though!

I'm sure they're brembo quality... but I suspect they may not take much punishment! Depends what he's using the car for, mods, etc... And how deep the pockets are!!! Second valve? Not quite sure what you mean there... 2nd cylinder perhaps? Would make more sense. Usual probs w 2.5s are piston ringland failures and headgasket probs.

Not seen one of these threads for a while... there WAS one but it has a lot of pics missing, and given the sudden up-surge in Hatches there seems to be on the boards (and the odd saloon ), it's high time we got it up and running again!
