  1. Hi Davy - welcome to SIDC! The 2.35 engine will handle that power no problem, but you'll never get 400bhp out of the standard turbos on the legacy. They're more or less at maximum as standard. You might get 330 but not much more. The turbine housings will take a TD04 wheel & core with a bit of porting which gives you lots of options for the compressor side. Choice depends on which particular standard turbos you have... I suspect it's a VF26 and VF27? Before anyone chimes in and says go single turbo... YES single give potential for more top end, but the twin (or rather sequential) setup has excellent area under-the-curve, and TT Leggys (standard or especially when mapped ) are MORE than capable of giving an STI a fright! They have a character all their own... don't knock 'em till you've driven 'em
  2. Shouldn't that 60 have a prefix?
  3. Chalk up another for the GR/GV chassis! Nice one.
  4. Nae wonder she cannae tell where the North is!!!
  5. If not, you're right Arch - that's WELL out of order! REALLY want those window scoops and rear rad conversion!!!
  6. As discussed at the AGM (and big thanks to those who came along ) the forums AT THE MOMENT are a bit of a cluttered mess and all a bit fragmented... we intend to tidy up and consolidate things in the short term to make the site less bitty so folk can see what's going on. If there's demand for more subfora thereafter we can accomodate it. Need tae shore up the foundations a bit afore we stick a skyscraper on it . Hope you agree!
  7. No, insurers being what they are "all mods declared" is the safest way... otherwise they'll bottle out at the slightest opportunity. Don't leave them the opportunity! We met an 18 year old lad on Skye during the Fling. He had a 1.8 vectra and said his insurance was over a grand!
  8. He'll take a 6 speed, though if you've got one Lewis
  9. We're hardcore in Tayside, Kenny! We can take it! @Craig - Hang in there chief! May meet being posted soon...
  10. Reg R** GRM? That'll be Graham's one is it not? Not seen him about for a while. White looks good with the blacked-out vents though.... shiny...
  11. Straying a wee bit from topic are we not...? Arch makes a fair point re 22B... but I'd be interested to see the 22B membership figs and demographics. I rather suspect the audience is considerably narrower as it tends to attract a more techy/ race-orientated punter (IMHO). By comparison to Impreza, the "Cupra" mark has applied to several SEAT models, at least one of which is still available from new. As per the name change, we're just trying to keep things broad and offer a little something for everyone. Call it stupid... call it what you will... but I'm grateful for criticism being kept constructive
  12. No... you mean "like all GOOD staff should be"!!!
  13. No gold flake? C'mon Craig... who had it last? It can't be Ciaran's R... too clean for a start...
  14. Nae worries chief... will be interested to hear how you get on with it. Are Pro-R doing cool panels for the hatch too? I could only see newage ones...
  15. As a learned colleague of mine once said: "Oh dear... here comes the credit card..."
  16. Blimey! They got enough classes there? Surely there's only so many grid girls to go round?
  17. Did you ever get an alignment done Myles? Sounds like you need a bit more caster. Google "Free caster mods" - lots of good reading and potentially not too expensive. Caster will improve steering weight/ feel, reduce understeer and also give sharper turn-in. Good place to start... prodrive springs worth a look too. And I know "Dixie Fanfare" Phil is rather fond of his new BC coilovers and said ride was fine.
  18. 'Cos ye don't want tae embarrass him with our superior handling...? No, he's right... stock GR springs suck! On the subject of kerbing... rainsports have a nice wee lip as well... saves the metal a bit!
  19. Aye, and just as expensive!!! Welcome!
  20. Aye, but who got theirs on 3 wheels...? +1 for the Uniroyal Rainsport 2s!!! ...but then if it's occasional/ track use, Michelins prolly the better option. I think our man's made up his mind anyways... "Road noise" indeed... Hooligan!
