  1. From experience, I rarely use ... sometimes in the snow if is a bit sluggish and [s#} a bit much!!! Not entirely convinced re the VDC making a difference. C-Diff? In the dry... manual, all to the back... Manual locked in the snow (unless manoeuvering!!!!). In the wet, Auto, Auto -. Best advice... have a play about with it and see what suits your driving style. No point in having adjustability if it's you that has to adjust rather than the car... follow? *chuckle*
  2. Agree with Matty. Impreza R is non-turbo, so you'll notice little difference if any in performance... might run a little sweeter, but wont make more power. Higher octane fuels are more resistant to self-ignition, which is relatively unlikely in a naturally aspirated engine... with a turbo (or supercharger) hosing in a load of extra air (and hence elevating pressure and with it temperature) fuels are much more likely to go pop on their own. If that happens with the piston going the wrong way (ie coming up vs the exploding fuel) it's bad news... Save yer pennies... wish I could! *lol*

  11. I'd rather have thought mentioning "Beallach" and "Skye" was a big enough clue for all concerned... But Dave went over this with me yesterday... if the section in question remains shut, it simply ain't feasible to do both. We're committed to Skye with the hotel bookings... and there won't be a shortage of other braw roads to go play on... trust me!!!! There's always another year for the Beallach
  12. Always a bit of a risk with nice/ rare alloys - I sympathise. But if the paint's already flaking they should be sorting it at their expense... implies poor workmanship. I'd be having a (polite) chat if I were you.
  13. Lot of folk join or leave the section halfway through and miss the 2nd camera, hence why they'll be pushing on. Bit naughty, but I suspect that's why... not that I've tried it...
