  1. Worth looking into an away trip perhaps?
  2. Bump! Have been chatting to some of the other ROs in the South West area. If you're really keen and want to take this further, there's no reason you couldn't get RO status on here... you'd need to be paid up members though.
  3. Well done Jamie & co. Get a list up and keep bumping the thread!
  4. Another convert to the AP club! Woo!
  5. I don't understand how you can get around using a patio table... SURELY it must have an engine, but I can't see cos he's parked a bike in the way... Hmmmmmm... Looks rapid Neil! Nice. Shame about the scoob, but needs must.
  6. Pics look fab... right up till the last one where you've reversed into that tree!
  7. ... unless they're both scoobs! (not that that's a DIS-advantage)
  8. IIRC it works by retarding ignition on throttle lift off, ie: unburnt fuel gets blown down the 'zorst which then ignites in the pipe when the spark eventually fires... feel free to correct me though. Also IIRC it can be set "from mild to wild" - when I had mine mapped by Duncan Graham (Top bloke - plug plug!), he asked if I wanted just "a few pops here and there" all the way up to "bangs and flames". Mine is easily nearer the latter but only comes in when boosted at about 4krpm and only on lift-off. It's daily driven and... yes you wouldn't let fly with the local constabulary nearby (like Barry...) but it can be trundled round town without attracting too much ADDITIONAL attention. Let's face it - if you're even CONSIDERING this, you're probably running close to a full decat system and it ain't exactly gonna sound subtle ANYWAY! *chuckle*
  9. As b3mwe says, don't lose heart. Most "meets" you'll see on the forums are fairly small anyway. Don't worry if you're not acheiving the McRae Gathering... the rest of us are human too (well... mostly!) Keep it small, keep it regular, set a date and venue and stick with it. Don't wait for folk to suggest dates and times... they won't generally. Set it up and let folk come to you. If you get a lot of interest, but people are suggesting another date, THEN consider changing it. The Tayside meet has a core of about 6 or 7 very regular attendees with a few others who dip in and out. But it started with just a couple of us... so keep at it!
  10. IIRC 30/40 is basically a 35R innit? The Full race setup is stock position... will even let you use the TMIC.
  11. Ah... just me being colour blind then. Yeah - sell a CDB and hire a cleaner ya lazy ****! *lol* Is the white scoob sick again?
  12. ANOTHER Golf? Was there not a white one too?
  13. This is perhaps one of these american jobs Callum was on about, but Full Race DO seem to get rather good reviews: http://www.full-race.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=842_1175_1378&products_id=1954 I rather like the idea of their 1.5 scroll up-pipe too. Almost the spool of a twinscroll but keep the burble.
  14. Cheers Callum. That's one less thing I don't know... rather a lot left though *chuckle* Will keep y'all posted on how the pinning does... but am not likely to push it as hard as the OP! We'll see.
  15. *cough* WARRANTY *cough* Good bunch of lads at RA. Knew you'd cave in eventually mate. When IS the remap? *lol*
  16. In my ignorance... please explain chief.
  17. So header tank is dry? That WOULD be consistent with HG leak. I didn't have bubbles either and we did several sniff tests... all clear. But both my HGs were very definitely seen to have gone when it was stripped down. Reading up your Evans stuff... interesting. Is your temp gauge going up into red or just up a bit? If I've picked it up right, their info suggests your coolant would be running at a higher temperature albeit still absorbing the engine heat, ie: your temp gauge will read higher but because of the extra heat capacity of the solution, it's still within safe limits... or am I awa' up the wrang dreel?
  18. For ultimate bhp, yes, I think that's been extensively covered earlier in the thread. H*ll if you REALLY want big power, jack the whole subaru thing in and go GTR!!! *chuckle* Some people just want a little bit more from their 2.5... or perhaps just want to take the road less travelled. Having driven 2.0 and 2.5, there's NO comparison for low down torque IMO. It's marmite I'm afraid... and I'm a fan. But we're rather missing the OP's point... back on topic please
  19. The Countryman's a minger in standard road rig. WRC version more than makes up. Imy, is that what you're wearing for the wedding? Looks the part! *lol*
  20. Mind and get some pics up after lads... this is sounding good.
  21. I have and I have Kev. And you'd be stupid to consider pinning without doing your homework - the sites you mention I would consider BASIC reading. 'bout the right level for you Kev, I'd say *chortle* And as it happens, it's AGRA in Dundee that are doing MY build. AND they pin too. Engine's in... just waiting on the run-in oil (their advice). I DID ask Paul Finch about the 2.5CDB he has on his site... this is a co-development with Litchfield and I rather suspect will appear in a Type-25 at some point. There are also rumours of Bob Rawle being involved therewith. rb268 - email sent earlier in the week, mate. Just not had a mo to post here till now. If you didn't get it, PM me. Does sound like you're getting some HG issues. Have a look in your header and expansion tanks... is she pushing coolant? I also know from reading up on NASIOC that 2.5s on track also have a habit of finding the limit of the stock radiator... might be worth a looky... or perhaps a cooked 'stat. Just a thought.
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. Blimey. I've been paying about 700 for the scoob alone 18000 miles/yr all mods declared. I'm with Admiral Multicar too and we have the Scoob, Leggy and our (t)rusty old vectra on the policy. I'm now dreading July when the renewal comes in... Ah well... nae pockets in a shroud.
  24. That's camouflage, that is. That's cool - likey! Stick one down the side AS WELL. Might be too much though...
