Sounds to me like the vac hoses from the turbo oulet pipe to the tee and then to the actuator may be leaking, split or just bad. There is also a pipe going up to the solenoid. Could be this stuck open. Best thing to do is get a piece of vac hose, and connect this DIRECTLY from the output pipe on the turbo outlet to the wastegate. Now drive the car. You should get about 7psi MAX and no fuel cut. If that is all ok, replace the entire pipework with new. REMEMBER you have a small brass restrictor in the pipe, you MUST include this or youll have less boost. If once you replace the pipework and make sure you do the one to the solenoid, and the car STILL fuel cuts and boost overpressure, then the fault lies in the solenoid. Either replace or fit a dawes.

Halfords and Snap on do ROUNDED BOLT sockets, theyre black with teeth in there (looks like the vanes of the turbo) and they work Brill! if its an internal one, get an old bolt and hammer in. then use a breaker bar.

Clutch Advise / Recommendations Please Guys....

Exedy clutch is perfect for your needs. HOWEVER, while you are there, i would DEFINENTLY change the flywheel. If possible go for a lightweight one, the difference is AMAZING!! -
What Happens To Evos That Try To Keep Up With Scoobies

Just found this picture again. It looks EXACTLY like the pic from the Mitsibushi that TOP GEAR used to tow a caravan to the world record speed. It blew on their last run. -
Good job you got it right. Tip for future is, always stick a small piece of metal/wood that spreads across the pistons while you do the other side. IF you try and force them back when they are that far out, you can sometimes get them trying to go in on an angle and then you score the faces, meaning that they can weep a bit past the seal. Also if they get totally cocked over, (and its not very far on these) the piston will become lodged and wont move at all!! then its a strip down. When i do mine i have a caliper tool that is handy. if you dont have one, use a piece of metal that fits like the pad does, but comes up a little further, then you can use grips or a 'c' clamp to press the cylinders back in, and this keeps them straight and true

A little ways down the road is PRISTINE WHEELS in woburn sands, they do all our race wheels they use a CNC lathe, reset the wheel (if its damaged they tig and acid bath them) then they go into powdercoat, then you can opt for diamond turning or other finishes. They are fantastic!

Speak to AIRY FAIRY, she has a really good one for the Impreza 07 spec D she has. it locks into the built in system in the subaru.

The test was a LITTLE biased towards the EVo. As a subaru fanatic, (and an EX-EVO owner) i have to say that subaru have hurt their image with the new shape. The EVOx does look better however you look at it. Now the Evo-x full power model is 70 odd hp more that the scooby, and des track a little better, and from experience, the EVO is always going to be a better track-day car in standard trim compared to a scooby in standard trim. The scooby is a much better ROAD biased car, with better sound, better engine, better mechanics. AND!! when they test the equal EVO to the Impreza, the impreza is quicker round the track! In all honesty, and going on looks alone id choose an evo now. HOPEFULLY subaru will see the error of their ways, forget trying to beat the impreza on power etc ect (they dont need to!!) and bring back some resemblance of looks for the 2009 model! Just my 2ps worth! EDIT to say, did you see the launch from the line? the subaru launched like it was a rabid dog after the postman, the EVO decided after a moment that maybe it should start to speed up!!!

I got to say, i did mine over a pit. Im not sure how easy it will be on the jack stands. is there noone near with a two post ramp or a pit you can borrow for an hour?
-
No mate, its fairly easy as long as the bolts arent siezed! You can get a grinder and take out the lip thats in there too! Do the same to the turbo flange as well, as this lip causes some turbulence.

I agree. a guy down here was running his van on cooking oil from Costco, and had NO records of how much he had used. When they checked him for Red, the found excess oil. So because he could not prove how long he had used the stuff, he was prosected and made to pay duty on the full Mileage, according to the Manufacturers Average MPG. Luckily his van was only 6 months old!! He showed us the forms and booklet he now has, showing what to do, and the amount of messing around, and paperwork and now cost of cooking oil per gallon, its really not worth it!!

Looks fantastic Andy!! And your experience and expertise no doubt helps that 9's Top end streetbikes struggle to pull into the 9s with work!!!! and their power to weight is better than most cars! Im truly impressed!
