What's My 93 Wrx Worth? Now With Some Old Pics
emoe replied to timmy2take's topic in South East England
To make £2k out of your car, id imagine youll have to find somoeone who really wants it. Without seeing the car i cant tell if its bottom end of the market. BUT remember the credit crunch is on, and cars are loosing value. -

Looking on FLEABAY a 93 impreza WRX goes for between £400 for a really tatty model, to about £1800 for a good one. Turbo 2000 4WD 4d Change 2. 1993/k Change 3. Average mileage: 110,000 miles Change Original Price £16,674 Independent Dealer £2,549 Private Good £2,100 Private Poor £1,049 Part Exchange £1,495 4. I bought an Autobahn top mount from Scott, after he chatted via email every day explaining what he could sell me, i paid for it and asked for it to be shipped ASAP. but as soon as i paid and ordered, the emails cease! nothing came for 5 days, and no answer to emails! in this time i alaso ordered a walbro pump. I finally got a tracking number from him for the intercooler, a week after i orginally ordered it. Now this isnt a long time, and the intercooler is really nice!! If you can wait for the stuff its good, but he doesnt have top communication. STILL waiting for comfirmation on the walbro pump, also now a week! Echoes what others say, the goods are good quality but no comms means he must be loosing custom!

Yes bear in mind, ike granby says, you will have to remap after each upgrade if you do it in stages. And i said in a post earlier, with mine i simply made a center cat to fit on a temp basis, mine just bolts up in place for MOT time

Try Andy Forrest on here, ive heard loads of good reports of his gear!

To be honest, youd loose out if you sold your car and started again. Its better to start with what you have got. It doesnt matter if you have 270Bhp or 217bhp, when you want to break over the 300 350 mark, it will cost the same mate! As for cost to do all that, i coudnt say. The stuff for my cars comes from the Race teams i work with, so its discounted anyway. As for others on here, im sure youd find differences in prices they paid even though they have very similar power outputs. But to be sure i wouldnt expect too much change out of a good few grand!

Well, you are already on the right track with that! With a PPP ECU you can go down the Apexi route, that will boost you a bit, or you can have one of the guys here remap the ecu for you. Injectors, pump, exhaust headers ect ect are all the routes you will need to go down to get where youre heading. If you end up wanting more power you will have to fit an FMIC as the top mount wont let you go much further. Now if youre going to want to go more, youll need to look into closed deck heads, twin scroll turbos, FMIC, 660 injectors and remapped to run all that. This isnt cheap! If it was me, id wait till i wanted to go the whole hog, as the money you spend now to get an extra 20-30horse would be better used later to make 100 horse!! Good luck!

I got my pads for 142 quid front and read, EBC redstuff!!! Them ferrodos were high mate! Do some serious checking around next time!

I went to see him in Georgia three years ago. Hes pretty funny. I now have all three of his DVDs and everyone laughs at him SOOO much!!!

I see nothing wrong with either front or rear! I actually like them fronts a lot! And WHY does everyone have to have the originals? Isnt car modding about individualism? Those rear lights arent Chavvy by any means! Put them on a 1.2 nova with a dustbin exhaust and yes thats chavvy!! IMHO its your car, you paid for it, you can cover it in milk and paint little daisies on it what does it matter to anyone?

My insurance is with Churchill, they never asked me for a tracker and i queried it, they said its not necessary for the insurance, Plus they give me a geat discount for having both cars on the policy.

HOLY HOTDOGS BATMAN!!! i dont pay that for fully comp on 1 x subaru, 1 x Alfaromeo 1 x TL100 and 1 x DR400!!!!!
-
Rolling roads are wonderful at pumping up figures, youll get different ones across the board if you go to loads!!! IMHO the best way of seeing how well the mods are doing is run it on the road or track or like you, go to the 1/4 mile. Times dont lie, Rollers can!!

Sounds to me like the ECU is reading a minor fault in one of the sensors. Maybe the knock sensor is faulty which will cause the control mapping to reduce the turbo spool up to save the engine. You SHOULD have a CEL light on but sometimes it can get fooled. What it soulds like is happening is the turbo is coming on boost at the normal time, but as the MAP reads the boost pressure, it registers and the solenoid is stopping the bleed off making the wastegate open prematurely. This will give you a little boost but most probably only about 5psi max. Try disconnecting the battery, holding down the brake pedal with the ignition on for about 5 mins. then replace the battery and try it again. IF the problem still exists then youll either have to read the codes yourself with an OBDII reader or go to a dealer to get them read. hope that helps Emoe

I run it in my bike as the bike will not run on anything less than 101octane. and the BP garage i get mine from says its 103ron. Works brill but expensive. Not sure its worth filling 60 litres of the stuff. that would be 60 x £2.98 per ltr =178.80 to fill the car!!! works out to about 60p a mile in fuel alone!!!
