  1. if so it is the gold coloured thing on top of the turbo in this pic, (example picture) not sure if this is an impreza one or not but it will be similar, this one has 2 bolts some i have seen have 3 http://www.tomiokaracing.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/thumbnail/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/t/r/tr-ts1002_5_.jpg and at the wastegate end there is a c clip prise this out with a suitable flat screw driver , careful not to lose it in the engine bay, dont adjust the length of the arm like suggested in this pic, as this can cause the wastegate to open too much or not enough. http://www.pbase.com/image/22312910.jpg
  2. is it the turbo wastegate actuator you are talking about?

  6. welcome to the wonderful world of the impreza, its hard to stop once you start
  7. if you follow the pipe work from the fmic on the right hand side lookin in the engine bay, there should be a tube thats blanked off around where the top mount would have been, i beleive you need an adapter that fits into the blanked off pipe, a dump valve and bov are the same thing, you can have 2 kinds, recirculating, and vent to atmosphere which is the one that makes the pssst noise.i don't think one is better than the other apart from the noise which is a personal thing, like or dislike

  12. the studs dont need to come out, but they may well come out if the nut is seized onto it, soak in plenty releasing fluid hopefully theyll come off ok just noticed yours isnt a classic, may be different, sorry buddy
