About JoseT2000

  1. Thanks tony, eliminated one thing as I also purchased mine from Aztec, as you can imagine I breathed a sigh of relief when I read the last line of your reply! Have read many reviews which do mention that the biting point changed, or the car became easier to stall, both of which I expected, it's the judder as pull away or reverse that worries me. I mentioned it to someone who's mechanical knowledge is far larger than mine his reply was "hmmm... Bearings?" Whatever that means! (I obviously nodded as not to look like the complete novice I am or as dumb as I feel!...... Now what was that about dual mass or twin plate?) think my next step is to research which type of clutch my model has! Thanks again mate. Jose
  2. Recently fitted an exeddy clutch to my 1999 uk turbo, and am having a mare! the "pinkbox package" which also comes with a lightened flywheel, is advertised as an anti-judder clutch, but to be honest I'm finding it just as bad if not worse than before! My mechanic says it will take a couple of hundred miles before it "beds in" but am beginning to wonder about his competence or that I'm being spun a line! Has anyone had any experience of these clutches or know of a good mechanic who could sort it? Thanks.
  3. Can anyone shed light........ Have been trying to get hold of a alarm sounder bracket for my 1999 impreza turbo but have had no luck, Most recently I contacted an importer, who after checking my chassis number informed me that my car did not come with a factory fitted alarm. The confusing thing is it's operated with the original fob and Although I didn't buy the car new, I'm sure it was a stock item?! Can anyone shed light? Or anyone know where I can get my hands on one? Even tried a main stealer once but the part they sold me was wrong! Thanks in advance.
  4. Thanks guys, looks like the excedy pink box package and lightened flywheel from Aztec performance is the way forward!
  5. Hi, Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of having a lightened flywheel fitted? Have heard horror stories of engines idling at 3000rpm! Or god forbid a loss of torque!!! Am considering having one fitted during a much needed clutch replacement as heard it helps with throttle response ect!
  6. Thanks John, have dropped them an email explaining my plight! Also, was the flywheel you fitted a standard, or was it balanced and/or lightened? Heard changing the flywheel can cause all kinds of idling problems? Thanks again. Jose.
  7. Heard something similar about fmic while doing more research, but also heard a bigger turbo can have the same effect! But the source isn't 100% reliable! 300 is a nice number would be happy with that..... For a while!!! Lol! And dude! naff joke.... But still chuckled!
  8. Hi everyone! The Clutch on my 1999 impreza turbo 2000 has begun slipping under heavy acceleration, have done some minor mods, fast flow cat and cat back exhaust, replacement panel filter, the basics! and the dream is to get close to the 300 bhp mark (front mount intercooler change the turbo and fuel pump I think!), and still have a drivable road car. Could anyone suggest a course of action, and a product (ie a clutch and flywheel) which will be suitable for the car at it's and that could handle that increase in power. As you can probably tell am a bit of a novice so any help would be great.
