  1. Or lack of..... Just trailed thru from Falkirk to pick a replacement MAF at the princely sum of £170 and asked about the discount being a member of the club. Guy in the parts department (after checking with a couple of other folk) informs me that they know of no such discount. I was under the impression that Swiggi/Dougster had been in discussions with them about this and a discount had been agreed?? Before going off on one I wanted to get my facts straight - has it been agreed and has anyone thats had a service or picked up parts been given the discount?? Might just be that the parts guys haven't been told. Cheers, Neil Edited to say I thought that this discount had been made official but appears it might not be. Anyone confirm ye or nay?? not finger-pointing at Dougster or Swiggi!!!!
  2. MAF's being replaced this week so the induction kit's coming off - anyone got an airbox lying around that could use a good home?? Ta Neil
  3. Could've been Higgy - didn't get a chance to have a good look. I have been told by a mechanic mate in w.lothian that the no. of roadside checks is on the up though. Mind you - knowing folk from Denny and Bonnybridge wouldn't surprise me if there is a red diesel pump on the go somewhere
  4. Need to duck out as well Hopefully meet up with you guys at some point. Neil
  5. Just a heads up for the Central boys. In Denny today, 2 plod and VOSA guy doing spot checks. Luckily the knackered red Escort van in front of me got pulled but I was convinced my Ninja was about to get a probe rammed up its' jacksie 1st time I've seen these being done for a while so might be a wee "initiative" as they like to call it. For those not aware you can ask for a deferred test which gives you 3 wks to produce your MOT (still needs to be dated in the last 14 days). If you don't ask for that you'll get a fixed penalty that will be waived if you produce your MOT in 14 days so you'll get an extra week to pitch up with your cert. If anyone else spots them then let us know!! Cheers. Neil
  6. Jambo - thats not on m8 May be worth bearing in mind that this may not have been someone that reads/posts only in Scottish Scoobies. Spince's theft was a sticky in General for a week so it could be anyone that reads the SIDC forums and has no connection with anyone in the Scottish Scoobies community. Might be worth posting up on General about this as well. Neil

  13. Bit of a long shot but does anyone have a spare jack for a classic they don't need? I'll give the dealer a bell to find out how much they'll rob me for a laugh anyway Cheers. Neil
  14. Ian, is that the one on the main st. on the left headin toward the mini-roundabout? Don't know many others in the metropolis that is Larbert (even though I only stay 1.5 miles from it !!) I'll give them a try. Cheer, Neil
  15. Red blobs are nice m8 Don't see many on the road either. Let the modding begin........
  16. Thanks for the comments chaps. Dave - it has had a V5 front bumper put on it. IanJ - I think it originally came from down there - some place called Option Motorsport used to do the work on it I believe. Compared to the RB5 its like night and day - goes like the clappers Having been driving the wifes' Picasso for three weeks it'll take a couple of days to get used to the fact that I can actually overtake something on the roads!! Where do the Falkirk/Stirling guys get their Millers/NF from?? Coming soon to a meet near you... Neil
  17. Having been scoobyless for 3 wks after selling the RB5 picked up this wee stoater tonight 98 STi IV wagon pretty standard except for - induction kit, Baily d/v (ppssshhhtttt), lightened flywheel, Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers. Full Samcos, full decat and Ninja backbox. Stealth Scooby Neil
  18. If it sounds like someone letting rip with an Uzi under yer bonnet it might well be your battery. Was with mine. Wouldn't turn over. An overnight charge sorted it until I got a new one - when I took the old one out half the cells were black Neil
  19. Paul - u got any pics yet of your car? Sold the RB5 a couple of weeks ago and looking to get something ASAP. Lost out on an STi 2 at JVS last week I must be missing something 'cos every garage and supermarket I'm in I can't get a hold of carmart - where can I pick one up?? Ta, Neil
  20. Performance Driving at KH Well worth it - will probably do it it again when I (hopefully) get another scoob soon. Neil
  21. Cal, I did the High Perf driving course in the RB5. Was just me and 2 other guys on track (both in the KH XR2's doing one of the other courses). Was a baltic October morning as well so car was flying. It was a 1 hrs session and the instructor was Gordon Sheddon who funnily enough has driven in that Racing Rivals for the last couple of years and boy can he drive - also did BTCC as well. I did 3 laps just to find my line and let him guage my driving style. He then did 3 laps - 1st was to show the right lines, the next to show what happens when you do it wrong (brake during the corner, power-oversteer etc.) and the third lap he did it flat out!!! I had no idea the car could go that fast - was p!ssing myself laughing when he finished!! Then 2 x 10 lap sessions. It let me find out about the car without having to worry about anyone else tyring to enjoy their track day. Was only 90 quid which I thought was a bit of a bargain. Top bloke he was as well. Neil
