  1. If you'd been out for a "demonstration" drive with Gavin you wouldn't be so confused!!!!......
  2. That's not an ex-courtesy car from Grieves is it? I had one just like it when mine was in for a service in January. If so it was a nice little car, i quite enjoyed having it for a day..
  3. Cothouse services mate before you reach Dunoon (not V-power but super-unleaded nonetheless). If you're feeling adventurous turn right at Strachur instead of going straight on, and go that way to Dunoon. That's my neck of the woods and it's awesome. Loch Eck the way you will be going is also great though so you're bound to enjoy it either way!
  4. That looks pretty mental mate. Nice one..
  5. I've done the same mate, also lots of induction whoosh, and the standard dump-valve making a decent noise (heard from inside the car at least). I think if you still have the original air intake in place to force air to the filter area then it will be ok on the road, but not great in slow traffic - which doesn't really matter anyway. I also have a cold air scoop in the bumper. I had thought of taking the original resonator box and sawing off the top, which will then fit back in, but have the large intake hole inside the wing, and with no obstructions between there and the filter. Cheers, Mark
  6. Cheers guys, got it polished when I was down in Troon today, purely by chance as I passed somewhere. Just a hand polish but will check results when the rain stops.. looked good inside the garage but we'll see how it looks under the sun! I'll keep the Blue Dragon in mind for the future.. Mark
  7. As above, soon as the sun comes out the car is looking horrendous with all the swirl marks and tiny white scratches.. being black as well it looks bad.. I'm wanting to get it proper machine polished, so anyone know anywhere decent in Glasgow to get it done? Cheers..
  8. Mine uses very little, i've not had to top it up at all yet.
  9. Cracking car mate! Can't beat a black Hawkeye (but then i'm biased!!)
  10. Congratulations..
  11. What car do you have mate? I was at Knockhill yesterday as well (black Hawkeye STI).
  12. Ah s****e.... That's a nightmare mate.... Not again!
  13. Aye no bother, the cheque's in the post!! See your point right enough.... keeping it topped up with NF might be a pain in the hole. Could always get it mapped again for that in the future if things change..... As for logic.. there's not much of that involved in the amount of cash the car is swallowing just now Cheers mate,
  14. Welcome mate... Nice blobeye, i've had two and they are cracking....
  15. No worries mate..
  16. It's just going to be ducting to get more cold air up to the standard air box, with a Cosworth panel filter, and removal of the resonator box.. I'll give it a go.. Cheers.
  17. Oh aye, V-power or Tesco 99... nothing else. Mods are/are going to be turbo-back sports cat system, cold air intake and panel filter etc, then obviously AF mapping.. (on a Hawkeye STI) What's your thoughts on getting the car mapped on NF and then running with it from then on? (as regards seeing some kind of benefit from it).. Cheers..
  18. Hello everyone, Can anyone tell me if they are using NF on a daily basis, and what ratio? My question is not about NF, I know it's good stuff. But if I get the car mapped on (eg.) 3ml per litre, then do I need to continue using the same ratio from then on for every tank to keep things as they should be? and if it gets a few tanks without any NF is it going to start causing problems? Common sense would tell me I would have to keep the same ratio as it was mapped on, but if somebody could confirm? Also anyone that has experience of it, could you tell me roughly how many RON is added by approx 3ml/litre? Cheers, Mark
  19. Ahhhhhh... so a liar as well....... Think you have the wrong forum mate... we weren't talking about Gran Turismo... (Burgy sorry about your car mate.. )
  20. There's one on the way to me... Out of interest what cars did you fit them to etc? Was it Hawkeyes i take it? Is the Hawkeye DP a different size from the 01-05 cars? Just making sure i have the right thing on the way to me..
  21. As far as I know............ yes there is quite a difference.. I think the standard downpipe is fairly restrictive (couldn't guess at figures). Have a look at the Meercat site at the picture of their "snakehead" downpipe beside (what I assume) is a standard downpipe. The difference (in the mouth at least) is huge. BTW - a Meercat 3" 100 cell downpipe is £420 fitted. They do cost a few pennies, but if you're planning on getting the car mapped anyway, then might as well give the map the best chance you can - and justify the cash!
  22. Hi mate, Are you going to the Hot Marques day on 14th March?
  23. Chris a 100 cell sports cat downpipe from Hayward & Scott is £475, excluding VAT and P&P, so all in probably over £560.. I e-mailed them. Ninja downpipe from Scoobyworld for 2001-2005 cars will fit if you also fit a 2001-2005 cat pipe (as the 2001-2005 downpipe is longer than the 2006 onwards... so the two pipes together equal the same length as the OE pipes) Milltek also do one, but fitment might be an issue unless you buy the whole Milltek system. I think the 100 cell sports cat will only be a couple of crazy horses down on a full de-cat... and still pass an MOT.. As you might guess i've been looking at the same thing... let me know if you find any decent info... Cheers, Mark
  24. Gus I would take one of those as well if it was happening. Also for Hawkeye STI obviously.. Rest of the system is Hayward & Scott but I think that's the same fitment as OE.
