  1. I wave, normally get a responce. id say 90% classics wave back and 75% newage i like the little nod you get too when passing in slow traffic. from scoobys / evos etc. the gf thinks its hilarious and even funnier if i miss someone waving she gets to sit there and say 'missed one' people look VERY confused when i wave in the day to day car tho, ( a bent 306 dturbo) haha although since i bought the type r a few weeks back the 306 hasnt turned a wheel haha.
  2. reading this earlier i thought we were maybe being a bit harsh, but then i thought, what if it was my car???? little *******s 1. they took SOMEONE ELSES car 2. the passengers got in a stolen car 3. sounds like the police were after them and they chose not to stop they all had plenty of chances and made their choice. no sympathy. at all. it does baffle me why the ipcc are investigating. one thing the yanks get right, you run from the police, you loose your rights, if you get hurt or killed running, tough ****, shouldnt have run son.
  3. What brand are yours mate? I really like the look of them cheers Tim
  4. Welcome Andy, you wont find a better bunch of scooby owners
  5. heres my new baby... Iain, where the driving lamps on yours or did you put them on??
  6. Alright guys, quick update After the first 18months of scooby ownership i fancied a change but didnt really want to move away from the marque. So after much thinking, i decided to sell my collection of bits and pieces and see how much cash i could raise to fund a new car. I sold the following My wrx my spares car i also sold my old escort van, mountain bike, a crap speed boat and some other bits and pieces. I was looking an sti ra but it was down in dover, and im from pembrokeshire, but i tought sod it and rang the guy. He was the most unhelpfull person and also all his imports were unregistered, although i can see why (tax etc) I didnt fancy a trip that far to look at something and then go back a week later to get it if I wanted it. I checked back on piston heads, didnt think i was going to find anything, but whey, found an sti type r v4. 24000 miles, fresh import. £5000 Went and bought it the next day It now wearing an sti chin spoiler. more pics tomorrow or on the weekend, its crying out for a wash, havent stopped driving it since i got it a few weeks back. What a differnce going from a 1993 wrx to this, the crispness and responce. couldnt be happer. What u guys rekon on the price and any ideas for mods? Dont want to go nuts as it really is liek the day it left the showroom
  7. sorry to aggree but it sounds like the front diff although on the plus side my old wrx last well over a year with this problem..;....... but it was pretty spectacular when it finally went.
  8. do you mean drop the gearbox? if they are dropping the engine to do a clutch then they are a bunch of spanners and id be taking my car elsewhere///................. mind u my local garage does a clutch change on a scooby for £90 (not inc parts)
  9. just a quick question guys, on a boost gauge i know that the possitve side relates to what boost pressure is runnning in either bar or psi. but the negative or vacum side what does this relate to?? and of what importance is it?? why does it vary. just curious to know what it on about and what it is showing me cheers tim
  10. is it too cheap????? jesus id say its about £800 to expensive in the current market, for example, i picked up and sti type r v4 with only 22000 miles fresh import the other day for 4800!!!! with mot tax and warrentee as the others have said shop around and wait for the right one. its a buyers market
  11. check the thermostat. (take it out. throw it away.) see is it helps. might be somehting simple for you have to pull the heads of it/
  12. its worth checking as it my be pressure cap or thermostat or a blocked rad, i know its new, but dont discount it being a problem, its a free and easy way to get an idea where the problem may lay....
  13. before i moved on to my type r my old wrx had a similar problem. i suspected head gaskets too, after speaking to my local garage they advised me to take it for a spin, keeping it below 2500 rpm. a nice long slow gentle drive, the theory being, if the head gaskets are leaking then the system will still pressurise. If however you have got away with like 30/40 mins of driving and its not got hot, just before you home give it the beans and see if that triggers the over heat. if your engine is getting hot/clooant is pressurising while driving off boost and very carefully than you can be 99% sure its a head gasket. if it doesnt and then get hot/leaks when u flog it, there is not sufficent cooling, you then have to go doen the road of checking for blockages, bust thermostat, blocked rad, faulty cap etc. mine turned out to be a blocked rad. a good flush out cured it. im hoping this helps and it not a gasket.!!!!!!!!!!! its not very scientific but it helped me! tim
  14. its a brilliant night out, standing in the driving rain watching drivers from seasoned road rally competitors to farmers having ago throwing their cars down the lanes ill try come to the next meet, they are all far from me tho
  15. yeah too right, i wanted an hdmi cable, currys wanted £29!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! play.com had the SAME lead for £5.99 delivered to the bloody door. robbing currys!
  16. im really sorry for you mate, just shown this to a few friends, we are all of the opinion that if someone wondered into my yard and i caught them doing this, they wouldnt ever be leaving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! chain them to one side of the garage and the dog to the other with chains just long enough no meet in the middle. and thats where id leave the dogs food, and leave the ****er in there for a week...................................................

  20. I think single engines is a very bad idea. i cant even see why the cost should be capped, if you want to spend the money then crack on, if you dont or cant then sorry try something else. F1 is supposed to be a competion between teams. on a technical basis, anything against that detracts from the sport
