hi guys, my gear box has started winning in 5th and is notchy in third, im currently watching a few on ebay, my cars is a 1993 wrx and the one finishing is from a 1996 wrx, both are imports. i wont have a chance to check the transmission code before some of them finish on ebay. is there any reason why a 1996 wrx box wont fit a 1993 wrx? as i said both are imports and the new box is recondishoned. what you think?? cheers tim

ah i meant to add, plod will prob take a dim view wether is is right or not so they are completey turn offable incase he get funny and obv i wont be tooling round town with them on, thats just askin for trouble they are for fun in the lanes! haha if your only allowed 2 set of light on, how did mini coopers get away with 4 spots? or cars with twin headlights and spots or many other vehicles? just wondering as the two light rule is a myth i think.

please check the msa blue book as a guide, "to conform with the road traffic act all auxilualry lights must extingish when the main beam is turned off and when dipped light must be 55w or less" so as read you can have as many light as you want as long as when you go from main beam to dip they all go out appart from your dips. same applies to trucks and tractors etc, they all have millions of flood/spot lamps but when on dip they all go out or just have side in the like the hella 3000's so i take it these pods are totally legal, all bulbs are e marked atc and they will dip when mainbeam is dipped, trust me i have looked into this. does anyone else know any different? thanks

*not a subaru only part*, good motor factors do blueprint ones for between £30 - £50 depending what trade deal u can get. got four new ones for mine for £110 thanks

ive only had my impreza 2 months, and there seems to be a campian with older drivers to force us all off the road, they must thing we are all 'scumbags' the amount of close calls ive had while overtaking perfectly legally and people try to hold you off )doesnt reeally work when ur in a scooby lol) or to push you into the hedge.

was just heading down to the local garage for a brew and a chat with the boys, down a b road, car comeing towards me, so i pulled close into hedage and stopped, and this old b@stard clips my mirror and bang! its in peices, not the glass, the actualy plastic, he stops, get out, comes over, and cliam ive just broke his mirror!!!! politly explain i was stainonary and alothough his glass is smashed he has broken my whole mirror! he then starts on about boy racers and people have no respect???? i remind him i was staionary and it would bedown to him as he hit me, and he starts raving on about the youth of today!! i mean im 25 and a local business owner so although a was temped to get out and chin him i thought better of it and went to the garage for a brew and a lucky to clam down. so if anyone has a o/s wing mirror going spare let me know, preferablly in red .......................... thanks guys tim

im so glad i live out in the wild west of pembrokeshire, having been a security guard in both industrail and retail roles, and now a shop and post office owner, i can say that even out here we have the odd problem with ferral youths, but then when you takle them, or give them a clip, out police tend to be much miore on the side of the shopkeeper / adult, just have to say you feared for the saftey of my staff, and they cart the porr little dab back off to mummy. love the cities but so glad i live out here. tim

mine was loosing water and gettin very hot, local subaru garage said it was thermostat but rmoved that and problem still remained, on futher inspection after beenin worried about head gasket, it turned out to be the coolant hose leading to the inlet/throttle housing, you could only see the when it was really hot cos it was steaming, but as said about all the leaking coolant was going onto somehting hot and dissaperaring so it was hard to spot, when i got to the pipe it was totaly perrished. even the subaru garage missed this and they where lookin over it for well over 3 hours. and they calimed to have fixed it by takin the thermostat out. what im saying is try running it til; it gets hot and having a good look for leaks and steam. hope that helps tim

as said in my last post im new here and to scooby ownership. my mates impreza has got wind / rain deflectors fitted around the tops of the front and rear doors, and being a social reject (smoker, haha) id love to find adn get hold of a set of these for my 93wrx, soes anyoen know where these can be got hold of? thanks. tim

hi everyone! i bought my 1st impreza about 6 weeks ago and just found the sidc after hearin about it froma friend. what a brilliant forum and club it looks like, after 10mins of reading through the formus ive alrady joined up to the club! just wondering what u get in the welcome pack. mines a 93 wrx import, only done 70.000kms, and had all belts and etc done 1000ks ago, got it locally for only £2000 was well chuffed! ill try get some photos up soon, oh it was cheap due to the nearsid ewing and door being damaged by a broken check strap but this has all been sorted and shes looking good now. is there anyone else in the west of wales on here? keep gettin flashed by other scoobies.......... thanks tim oh i put a question up in the stricly technical area if anyone could help? thanks
