as long as it doesnt say police its fine. and obv the blue lights etc. get a light bar but just have orange light and dont use in on the road. but it would look the same as their both clear til their lit up i know a guy who runs fake police/ambulance/fire vehicles for tv he has markings and blues, but u would have to cover them up when on the public roads/ could be fun tho

Hi everyone. Just managed to get on the 'puter for the first time after the gathering. Myself and the Girlfriend were both so happy to have been able to take part in one of the most fitting tributes ever. I went to my first network q back in 1995 and was on the final stage when colin took the championship, ever since that day i have been and fan of Colin, rallying and subarus. As ive said before, i changed my impreza into a L555 BAT (555 replica /tribute after the untimely death of one of my heros, but when i was doing that I didnt imagine I would take part in an event like the mcrae gathering. My/our hero was liked and loved by many! We joined at keele services and did the rest of the run on sat and sun. As ive read the people on the bridges and in the fields/villages etc, like many others have said really did make it something else. I hope the guys that had a bump on sat very near to banbury were ok and there wasnt much damage? I think you were from the staffs crew??? And to the guy just of the roundabout at junc 15 ON SUN waving water bottles, i hope you found some water!!!??? im guessing thats what you were after? Yes there were traffic jams, and yes things seemed to over run, but to be honest id rather still be sitting on the m42 or in warwick, I didnt want the day to end. it was red lol. and its not something id undertake in a hurry again, so much work. it was done early spring, and theres a few bit im not quite happy with, like a few chips that are showing red, and the underside of the spoiler is still not painted, although you can only see that when the boots open. Glad people are liking it though, makes it worthwhile

Hi guys, its been a frantic week getting everything ready, as I showed in a previous post, some old guy in his fiesta thought the best thing he could do was drive into my nsf corner, resulting in a knakered wing and a duffed wheelbearing. The last week has been spent sanding and painting then applying fresh graphics. All ready now for the weekend Is anyone else taking a replica/tribute? mine was made like in the spring after watching the tribute/rally legend dvd. my clifford alarm did this for a while, really annoying... turned out to be the little switch thaat is fir the bonnet. ie it goes off when the bonnet is forced open, the bracket had slipped a little. just had to bend it back up. of corse could be something completely different

went into town this morning to pick up a few bits, driving through a retail park car park and from a side road (give way) an old fool pulls out, there was someone else coming the other way so not much room to swerve so my pride and joy has ended up like this god knows how but they pretty much pulled the door number off but thats only left a little ding that can hopefully be rolled out at least i was only doing about 10mph and hopefull get away with just a wing and some paint. just got it looking how i wanted. its always like isnt it made my blood boil when his wife was wining that they had only got their car last week, i mean the hours ive put into sanding and painting etc. at least no one was hurt its only tin at the end of the day etc

hi there, im currently do up an impreza, when i got it it was missing the boost solenoids, ive ordered some off the ebay, they have arrived, but are missing something, on the rear of them there should be a little square box (like a like chip or ecu or some gadget) with an electrical connection on either side. what is this part called so i can start looking for one? i know the car wont run without it. many thanks guys

From my pics, the one of the sunset and the last one of newgale, are the same beach. and i love 1 mile from there. its so nice and really is a different picture everytime you drop over the hill. i think living here tho i dont really appreshiate it enough. emoe, im not trying to say your wrong or anything, and i see your quite sure in what you say, but so many people say differnt things and with equal conviction. i think the safest thing may be just to tape them diagonily as you said. when i got insurance the asked for pics tho and didnt raise an issue with it, might be different if there was a claim though i suppose!

my insurance says, like most do, that it doesnt cover you taking part in any race, timetrial, speed test etc.it does nopt anywhere in the policy say anything about appering like you are. and also they know the graffics kit is fully declared etc. just why do so many people say you its illegal to have number? please if this is the case can someone quote the part of the road traffic act that its under? that cars with numbers are always competing???

"If I remember (and this is going back a looooooong way!) the scoring out 'rule' was set by the MSA, not the Police, and was simply to show that you were not in any competition. But no-one ever bothered back then. I mean, you try to find a roll of tape or try to get those darned numbers off the white panel in the middle of nowhere in the rain... The only downside of having white panels with or without numbers was being branded a boy racer (even if that was exactly what you were How it can invalidate insurance defeats me. How do private hires get away with stickers on the sides then? And any form of advertising for that matter? come to pembrokeshire! west is best etc. for the best views and drving roads you've got to come here. check the pics and its only 2 hrs more than goiing to the east and the very longest, follow the m4 and keep going til u get to the sea!!!! food for thought?

I've been told this, but by other people if also been told that this applies only to competion cars that are not in a competion, and not to replica cars as there is nothing written in law about normal cars displaying numbers. Both people ive spoken to are adiment that they are correct. ? Everyone used to say that my lamp pad was illegal, due it having more than four lights (4 pod + headlights) but when I asked the local friendly plod he said as long as the go out when you dip its ok.
