  6. As noted look through the Andy F list. Andy is a when it comes to transforming your cars performance. The more upgrades you can make, certainly at the beginning levels, the better the improvement. I have on my WRX level 1 with some of level 2 and run just shy of 280bhp, notice a difference, not massive compared to some, but it's there. Level 1 260-280 bhp Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore - the Blob WRX has 3 cats from memory. The more you can get rid of the better come remap time. I have a sportscat in the downpipe for MOT time. Mid-section easiest to replace. Your exhaust mid-section I believe is different to the saloon model?? otherwise I may have been able to help you out there. Ecutek Custom ECU recalibration (similar to PPP) & Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car - this is what AndyF does for you Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump - believe is more for reliability than performance K+N panel filter - cheap and cheerful change for better breathing May be that someone with power you're interested in lives near by and can take you for a run. Get along to a local meet and sure a friendly sole will help if can. By the way, it isn't going to be cheap !!!
  7. In the 3 and a bit years I've owned mine only got one bad skelp to the windscreen....on the day I drove it home !! Not bad enough to crack and never got any worse so still there. Last car I had when they repaired the windscreen they fitted it slightly wrong so when the car moved it just cracked the windscreen again - had me thinking I drove it too early. Just your luck I guess - well that and if you have to drive on rubbish roads !!
  8. What did you paint the discs with, my new ones have gone rusty colour where yours are now black, very unsightly !!

  12. Could see why your hacked off, but if a smallish local garage then there's probably hee haw interest from them if you are to complain and unless there's any visable damage not sure can do much. A larger garage should for customer satisfaction want to know. If the MOT station is less than 4 miles away worth asking where else they went ? Doesn't mean it was mistreated, loud music wont hurt it, but can see what you're getting at. If work was done often it's taken for a short test drive as well. Did the driver want his CD back ??
  13. Actually that helps a lot. Think I'm guilty of just looking at the numbers and thinking that's best. 16G -v- VF34 -v- VF35 - much of a muchness ? Are your headers ported? I got info on getting that done and seemed a lot of money just for a little earlier spool, do you notice a difference elsewhere with them done ??
  14. Is this for more weight saving on the car ?? Surely not, next we'll be hearing you say "I haven't eaten for 2 days before driving it" !! . Do some wheels not have the weight stamped on them, not sure which wheel I saw that on recently...or did I dream it ????
  15. I know some are stronger and lighter but not sure why that would lead to competition use only. Why do brake pads say track use only but end up on Scoobs ??
  16. I have a Scoobyworld Ninja sportscats cat downpipe fitted. 100cell which understand is better than e.g. the prodrive which has 200cell. Yes complete decat is best route but willing to take slight drop in power for less MOT hassle. Wouldn't change just this then pay for another remap, as you say if there's a next stage include this. I haven't really used the car enough since changing the brakes to comment properly (only about 150miles), to begin with was a little worried as felt worse but think they're getting there slowly but surely, not thinking about bedding in any quick way just using them as normal. Noticed immediately that the pistons worked properly !!

Replace the standard downpipe regardless of what noise change you'd get and get a sports cat one or complete decat (although complete decat may not pass an MOT on emissons), then get the car remapped. Think, not 100% sure, the H&S backboxes are quiet but lot of expensive to change just for little more noise.

  19. Actually fair point Brian. Maybe even more a "blurry" line than "fine" line. If it is a valet - more so along lines of the kinda thing you could do yourself but don't have the time/space/equipment to do - then there's usually plenty to choose from locally (still choose carefully though as poor cleaning techniques probably more likely!). The jkp and 360 folk may be more towards the detailing side which needn't be about bringing out the polishing machine but also the deep cleansing and protecting side.

  21. Looking for info on the TD05-18G : Where the 16G is similiar in ability to a VF34/35 - how would an 18G compare against these ? Where warning is given on the 20G breaking a newage WRX gearbox, would the 18G be a concern ? Fitted are there any additional supporting mods required with an 18G beyond what's required for 16G/VF34/35 ? Questions questions questions !
  22. Can I ask why you went 16g route instead of VF route, not saying anything wrong just curious. Were you not tempted by an 18g ? Similar idea I want for my blob and just building up the info to try and make right decision of what to get.
  23. I'd agree to an extent with paul555sti. If you're going to be doing 6.5k a year then going a bit higher on the mileage isn't a massive issue, like already said go on condition and its history more.

  25. Noticed yesterday that I was just off empty. Drove to Larkhall...no v-power !! Little bit panicked given I had so little. Asked the girl in the shop - "Nope, none here and none in Hamilton either". Okay, risk it and head over towards Wishaw none at Shell but Tesco seemed to have plenty - didn't even look at the price just bunged some in". Thought was going to have to put "normal" petrol in for a while there!!!!
