Will be good to see how it all prgresses for you Kenny. Will be quite a difference going from near standard to what you'll roughly finish with - potentially almost twice as many horses !! As far as advice, I'd be no use . Suppose all I could say is the obvious of just do your homework, take your time and spend your money backed up with knowledge.

Not allowed a bike any more Few years back on journey to work I was bumped off my ZX6-R (only had it 6 weeks) by what turned out to be an uninsured driver who didn't live at the address he said to the police he did !! Luckily I only damaged my already previously damaged supposedly recovered shoulder, and sometimes still get problems with it to this day. Wife (then girlfriend) and parents threatened if I bought another one I'd be beaten to within an inch of my life - it has however worked well as leverage when I fancied an new car ! Bro in-law and his friend did the quick pass bike lessons (why do I think it is it called direct access??) two years ago. They said it was a very good way of getting their licence as with the lessons being longer they felt more confident as it went on rather than getting used to the bike again after a few days away from it. Both passed first time. Was a place in Motherwell they used Kenny, not too far away from you wouldn't think. Said the instructors were very good. Bro in-law now has an R6 - obviously I need to take it up the road a little when he visits on it just to check it's running okay .

You're really only going to get them out properly by having them machine/polish combination out, you may need to pay someone to help with that bit. Can be done by hand with those right products but you'll have arms like Popeye by the end of it. There are products, e.g. blackhole, that can be used that a lot of folks rate as good at masking (filling) in swirl marks. Fairly sure autoglym do an okay one as well. Take it the sun hitting the paintwork today has really brought them out !!! Don't worry, doubt the sun will be about all that much more .

What was the downpipe on ppp, was it sportscatted ? If so then that's okay to keep. If not look in to changing that if you're going to the bother of changing you up-pipe. If you change your up-pipe then yes you'd better get it remapped. A few choices available. If you are going to get it remapped then your worth while having had some other bits-n-bobs added to make it worth while. Get the up-pipe wrapped as well. If changing the 2nd cat and centre section then you'll want the size to match in with your backbox (guessing 2.5"). Loads to chose from or as is getting ever more popular get some pipe work made for it. I have a spare decat or centre section pipe somewhere, can't remember which one it is though, Scoobyworld Afterburner range if I remember right. Look out in for sale section here and SNet for 2nd hand also, usually some exhaust bits about. More than 1 way to go about the changes you mentioned, my notes are just along the lines of what I did with my Blob WRX.

Does any one have any pics of their newage car, or maybe of a previous car they had, where you have your gauges mounted somewhere other than in the centre of the dash where clock sits. I know you can get a pod for the A-pillar in single or doubles - but does that look naf or is it annoying having it mounted there ? Also think I may have seen on the RB320 it is mounted behind the steering wheel, but I think this is a smaller gauge and fits better for it ?

Renewal came in, went up £20 only, phew, which considering the extra horses fitted a few months back isn't too bad suppose. Looks like KM's are front runners at moment.

Ta Kenny - I think . I heard from a reliable source Imy your car still hasn't been touched since its makeover, surely must need a wee bit of tlc by now . What I see when I get right up close to a car appears to be a step too far it seems . Just say when KennyUK (so I can make up some excuses ), or are you waiting till raffle time again . I've always taken it that the fleck was a standard feature in the black paint on newages, but you're not the only one to ask me that so really not sure. It really only shows when the sun hits it, but it is a lovely addition. When was fitting the parts in the engine bay despite being as careful as could be a few little challenging moments meant leaning and rubbing against the bodywork...happens and knew it would be there which is why I left the car getting this done till now. Wasn't scratches or anything as bad as that, just more like swirl-like marks. Machine took them out no problem first time. Oh and thanks for the comments . Cheers. Black, and red as I'm noticing more and more, shine up oh so well.

After keeping the car off the road for 2 weeks finally managed to finish off detailing my car. All in, between cleaning / machine polishing / protecting I reckon there were around 24 hours spent on it...and probably could've spent more. Those that know the car will wonder why bother, well after a few little performance upgrades were fitted it left the wings and area around the upper front grill way below the standard I like to keep my car at. Also it's been 18months since it was last properly done so swirls and a few random scratches have appeared. You think I've developed an OCD ? ? See what you think : Not a bad base to start from just general road dirt needing dealt with So washed, clayed and left with this...looks decent but what I was after removing was this type of thing (the swirl lines the sun is showing, and the scuffs) Around the front grill area was the worst so a few pics of where I've removed the grill and what it went from and to to leave this (gotta love the gold flake through the paint!!) Worked my way round the car which felt like took an age. No I never got everything out, but definitely feel that on the whole it was a lot better. On the downside I have noticed quite a few stonechips...again !! I like the Blackfire range on my black paintwork so machined on the Gloss Enhancing Polish, applied a coat of Wet Diamond All Finish Paint protection and then 2 coats of Midnight Sun Paste Wax - all buffed off after each stage obviously. Oh, and painted my horn (don't say that too often ). Alloys polished, tyres blackened, zorst shined up, etc etc etc. Engine bay was dealt with a few months back so it just received a quick wipe down just after the grill went back on After all that was done I felt like actually taking the car out for a drive today. The weather was rubbish, dull and cloudy, so the pics really don't do the finish justice. Really really disappointed with this as the Blackfire stuff really gives the paintwork a crackin finish. If the weathers better tomorrow (aye right!!) I'll get some with the sun bouncing off the paintwork and get a bit more flake popping. Just a few till I can get some better ones whenever the weather improves : and added couple of days later when the sun came out.....

I'm thinking it was the "my cars been hit by another driver and my neck/back/little finger is oh so sore" type claim they were referring to.

Oh nice timing folks, mine is due up next week.....$hitting it now !! Are A-plan the ones that have a dozen companies call you to ask the same questions ?? Can't remember who that was I tried one year but every single one of them was waaaay off ! Hoping KM decide for a change to reduce it and not for the 4th consecutive year increase the premium by £25 (or more!). Reason given every year is number of personal injury claims...which is a plausible reason suppose.

I guess what you want ££'s wise is also going to be based on what you accept as max mileage i.e. a very low mileage Blob may be out of your price range, and whether you buy private or go to a dealer. Stephens Blob was a very well priced reasonable mileage WRX with the stage1 power mods taking it to STi power, and a few nice extras added on, seemed like a good buy for new owner. Ritchie's wagon is very nice looking (and not for sale I hope!!) but they are rarer. I have a Blob WRX, but had money not been a big factor at the time I would have gone STi (actually if I'd known about this site before I bought I may have held out for one!!). I am now running about STi PPP power (and kinda the look) but it is a WRX and I don't hide that fact and I still very much like it (as I still have it!!). It is as quick as I'm realistically going to get out of it keeping on the safe side. The interior on the STi is way nicer, and as mentioned engine/gearbox are a lot stronger, but the WRX is still acceptable on those counts. I went Blob as a personal choice I prefer its look over the Bug. Some nice classics still out there, don't know if that is a thought ? Having a WRX or STi remapped will give more power but can also return better fuel economy(I stress the last point to the wife a lot!! ). Being remapped though you ideally want it done for 99RON which keep in mind isn't the cheap fuel choice. I have prodrive springs on with 18's and find it firm but not silly, maybe one of those things you get used to. With a front splitter on though it hasn't seen a multi-storey for a couple of years now . There are bargains out there, some folks finding private sales tough at the moment particularly on this type of car so you can barter hard. Take your time and be fussy to get the right one, a full history is a big plus, all the usual sensible stuff. Happy hunting.
