Nice one! Although I guess this may mean I'll have to get my butt onto Facebook

Breakers are the obvious option.. But failing that http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/ or http://www.japperformanceparts.co.uk Are often quite good for finding bits and pieces, without being expensive about it

Sounds spot on for my liking! Did you get a individual price for the alignment set-up? Just curious to know what they would charge. Shouldnt be too much since most of the bolts will be freed off. Will do! Yeah the places up here have background/experience with Rallying (both SRC and WRC) rather than track use, but still understand how to get the best from a car on the road. Good to hear places taking the time over it and not just doing a 2 minute job! one of these days SIDC will get a good list together of reputable places we reccomend

Yep! by far the two best scooby places in the north at the moment CooL! I like it when a car has just a hint of oversteer. I know it's not considered safe but I feel much more confortable with a car that lets got at the rear first (assuming it doesn't just snap) rather than headign straight on.. Really not a fan of understeer on a car. Just as well I wont be running in the top group on the fling

Yep I agree geo should be checked.. But probably wont be done for a coupel of months I can setup most of the important areas myself anyway. Each time I've had someone recheck my setting thei've always reported it's spot on. Also I'd notice in driving it if it was wildly out! I;m a litle more concerned about the ARB brackets being in one piece. gonna try get them off and sandblasted down and re-painted just to make sure their clean and solid. Absolutely no disrepect to progrip they clearly know they stuff and understand the settings involved. But it's a few hundred mile round trip for me meanign two tanks of fuel so that's £150 just travelling Also laser alignment doesnt mean much IMHO.. It's all down to the operator/mechanic.. The laser aspect is just a quick and easy way of measuring without getting bars and measuring tapes out. If the lasers arent set-up right in the first place it's pointless.. Didn't mean that to sound like a whinge on laser alignment Oops!.. But keep hearing about people go on about how brilliant laser alignment is.. All it does is draw straight lines. Lasers dont set-up the car people do For the record.. Will probably take the car along to Bitz Motorsport in nairn once they get their new place set-up.. With laser alignment LOL! But like progrip they understand what they are doing and previously did alignmetn the old fashioned way my measuring and working things out!, also wanting them to give the car a quick check over just to have another pair of eyes check her over this year

Will do Interested to see if the changes make the handling changes I expect and that it will help improove handling.. Might take a wee bit of time to re-learn the car..

And so it begins... ... My one way ticket to ending up backwards into a tree 22mm Rear ARB, front ARB bushes, ALK & set of camber bolts for the rear (so it's much easier to setup again and locks into position.) Never realised the roll bars were so damn heavy! and the ALK's so damn light!
-
Holy crap! Under no circumstances should anyone on here be reccomended to go there! Infact I'd be considerign getting in touch with Subaru UK to have their newly found dealership recognition removed! As yet I havent head many good reports about them since they got the status. Only bad stuff.. Ok the guy got sacked but it should never have happened in the first place, official dealerships should be trusted with you car, not have then thrashed more than an owner does!.. Cool! Was looking at those a couple years back.. WHich pack did you go for?
-
Never realised there was so much rumour and gossip surrounding what happened to the car! I just took it as is.. An unfortunate accident with a car I was quite fond of (in a strange sort of way).. DIdn't realise there was soo much fuss and stories going on.. Good to hear your ok though!

THat's sweet!!

Looks like your origonal thread was merged with the new one rather than the other way round.. THat link above linked to your origonal thread but now that one doesn't exist.. .. if that makes sense..

Got speakers installed this month.. Great improvement in sound quality! But seem to have lost a fair amount of Bass Maybe they just need worn in.. Rear 22mm roll bar, replacing front ARB bushes & ALK looking on the cards for next month .. Along with the clean all round (new pressure washer on the way!), quick service, fixing a squeak from the rear right hub and sorting out the damn rattle from the short shifter. Also one of the extra led daytime running lights I added to the front of the car seems to have died after the weekend. probably after I submerged that side of the car in a deep puddle at a parking area at the Snowman rally. Thought they were supposed to be waterproof! Maybe that doesn't quite cover drowning them in a muddy puddle

That's more or less what I did with mine the last time I had the backbox off. Basic wash. All-Purpose cleaner with detailing brush Tardis with detailing brush Claybar Meguiars NXT metal polish (personal preference) Then gave it a coat of FK1000p Hi-temp wax for a laugh.. Seemes to have done the trick of helping reduce the amount of crap that sticks to it! Shame about the gravel rash on the underside of it..

Ha haaa! nope that wasn't me.. But did wonder what happened to the cone after it dissappeared when the Mk2 went by Saw a few scoobs parked up at stages but didn't recognise any of them sadly.. At least my car is fairly obvious even if you haven't seen it before

Snow on the 'snowmanrally' surely not! Got back to the car at the end of SS1 to find this: Oh look a row of scoobies!! Funny how marshals seemed to direct them to a different parking area than the rest of the cars. David Bogie, very much on form from the start Oh look! A hatch! Not many of those rallying.. Or these for that matter! THis is the one Bitz Motorsport Built P.s. THat's snow! not a borked camera Nice to still see a bugeye on stage But quite a few Blobs on the go: Snow very much taking over for a short while... Mini watersplash on Stage 6 And finally, there's always on guy in a media vest that comes along and stands right infront of you where your takign photos. Get tae' ... Might start trying to name and shame... More photos from SS1 Mheal Mor and SS6 Glen Urquhart

Damn! it was cold out at the snowman today! Soon as I got out of the car on SS1 It started blizzarding! (is that a word?) and got really damn cold!! Managed a couple of stages and a quick walkround the service station at lunch.. Currently sorting through photos, so hopefully have some uploaded later today if not tomorrow.. David Bogie was clearly on a mission from the get go! He was really chucking his Evo around at speed!! Slightly off topic, but had the winter tyres back on for this (after reading views on another thread) and they are staying on now! Didn't notice any lack of grippyness that I had a few weeks ago.. Maybe the road into Elgin was just really greasy that weekend. No issues with ABS kicking in or control of the car today! Infact even had one of the stage Mk2 Escorts dropping back behind me on one of the road sections near tore roundabout which has a nice covering of snow!

+1 for Bitz motorsport.. Not used them myself.. yet.. I do all the work on my own car myself.. But quite tempted to let them have a good look over my bugeye, just to make sure all is well, it's been 4 years since it's had any 'official' service .. You'll be happy to hear they will let you supply parts and they will only charge you labour!.. As dave says they have been running Impreza's in teh scottish rally for years now so know there way around Scoobs If you can try speak to 'Dave' (not Dave above ) when calling Bitz.. He'll see you right, and point you in the direction for any parts you need to get before hand.. Also extra discount available on labour at Bitz as a paid up SIDC member with a valid membership card
-
I'll have the scoob! Gonna stick the winter tyres back on to try scrub them in, so will be slidy whatever the weather! Yeehaaa!!!
-
Met office have released a weather warning for snow on saturday! http://t.co/iLzvN8uN Thinkign Daviot and Glen Urquart at hte moment.. Maybe the new stage at Kiltarlity and service.. Not 100% decided yet...
-
True, but it's not the Impreza we know and love.. Even every day impreza's still had a look of performance about them.. IMHo that started to get lost with the Hatch.. With one last Hurra, with the 2011 Saloon.. From what i've seen of the new Impreza it's very bland.. Even more so than recent versions. As for the XV.. that's a vehicle I just don't understand.. Why does it even exist! What was wrong with the legacy outback or Forester.. Why have subaru felt they had to wedge something into a gap that simply didn't exist!! I'm really not convinced by SUBARU's decision making in recent years I understand the desire to go to more mainstream vehicles but I do think their off the target somewhat.. and wasting R&D on unnecessary things...
-
Interesting.... 3dr harch and lower engine size.. Is subaru looking to make a comeback to RAlly! I sure hope so!!! Could be a cracking little car especialyl with additional Engine input from Toyota! All of a sudden I've got excited about Subaru again! Shame the Impreza is dead.. But with fundemental changes like this it's for the best IMHO.. Gonna keep an eye on this one
