Hi, They look simimar to ones the SIDC had a group buy for a while back.. They were of good quality and if you contact the seller directly you can probably get any design you want embroidered Only thing I remember was that there were issues with the boot mat on some hawkeye's.. There were problems with fitment, not sure if that was just down to the IC/Spray or not. There was a group buy on RB320 owners club and I don't think they had any problems.. So sounds like there were variations on other hawks for some reason. Worth noting just incase. But quality mats and clearly not your £10 a set budget ones.

Was interesting to get your views after the fling and able to compare differences between what is considered a decent sporty road car and in Impreza Think first year we had laguna's wasn't it? 2013 brings on the BMW!

Admiral/Elephant I've found cheapest for standard or near standard cars.. Originally had the Impreza insured with them until the mods outgrew their policy (Still remember my first SIDC meet when I said I'd never modify the car because I wanted to keep the insurance cheap.. oh-well!) You'd think the two would price the same but I've always been cheaper with Elephant (Had the Ka and now the focus insured with them) but my bro has always been cheaper from admiral.. Odd.. Both being part of the same group do multicar discount, and named drivers build their own NCD on the policy! IIRC you can get away with up to 3 categories of mods with them, They were ok with new springs and couple body changes on mine but they wouldn't cover any more than that. Power increase is a no no.

£570 here on 2001 WRX various modifications (all declared individually, intake/exhaust/styling/suspension/wheels same turbo/engine as standard) & circa 280bhp, 32y/o, 8 years NCD, IAM certificate, kept overnight in locked garage, low mileage (less than 6k), Clean licence...

Yeah I dropped mine down to 6k annual milage 3 years ago after getting 2nd car. But made sod all difference

WTF! I'm still over £555 (pun intended) for mine and that's low milage I'd be happy with sub £500! let alone £400! Tried Shopping around last near but no one could come within £100 of Keith Michaels.

Was close to having to SORN it this year in place for something else (don't think I could bring myself to sell it) been pretty boring trying to eek as much MPG out of it it this year as a daily drive Ka had to finally be scrapped at the start of the year and only just got a replacement a few weeks ago. So not been able to do any Scoobying this year, and have just been lurking now and again on here As for the replacement... It's a HATCH!!! 3dr, with Turbo! in Gunmetal Grey!... It's also a Diesel with a Ford badge.. But Never mind 54 plate, 55-60mpg on the daily B-Road commute, independent suspension, 115bhp and 184 lb-ft of torque isn't something to get too upset about Just need to be extra careful I fill the right car up with the right fuel Naturally not much change to the Impreza this year, although think it's got a new front grill since you last saw it and I'm considering putting a beefier backbox on it before the fling, but we'll see.. Still need to sort out the lousy brakes on the WRX.

Thanks for the reply. Car is out of warranty and naturally only fair to maybe shop around a bit more for garages to do work on the car.. Always handy to have any extra contacts for that sort of work. The car is currently up at Sparshatts at the moment after being transported via the AA the other day I know... Bit cheeky asking for alternative mechanics but always worth asking just incase I'll pass on your feedback! Thanks

Any of you guys have any good reliable contacts for a garage that would do a head gasket replacement on a hawkeeye STi around southampton area? got someone who's been quoted £1,600 for the work done at dealer (Sparshatts) and wondering if anyone knew of any better options in the area? Should point out, the reason multi-car deals don't like my impreza is because of the modifications.. Or at least the performance incrase. Soem seem ok with the mods, but over 10% power increase and it's nops sorry! Standard or near standard car and multi-car is definately worth a punt!

200 odd is V Cheap! Don't; knock that! I'm £575 at the moment did have it down to £560 I think, but it crept up last year. Interestingly, while looking for insurance on another car (multi-car deals wont touch the Impreza) Discovered somethign interesting.. NCD after 2-3 years means little extra discount, many of us won't be surprised by that.. But what seems to maek a BIG difference is how long your've owned the car. Saying I just bought the car, quotes were about 400-500, but if say I owned the car for 5 years or more that quickly dropped to 200-300! No other changes to teh quote! Just the length of time I'd 'claimed' to own the car! each yaear up to abotu 8 years of claimed ownership the quote ntoicably took steps down in cost! Tried this with a few online quotes and got similar results! Makes insuring a newly purchased car quite tricky.. Or at least reason enough to talk them down in price if replacing a car which was already insured with them I hope...

There's no right or wrong geometry setup on the cars. I always give a slight sigh when peopel asked for specific configuration for their set-up.. Yes off the shelf set-up witll give youa good balance. But it's not a tailored set-up.. This thread is good for getting ideas what to expect, but ideally you want to take a look ar your driving style and see what areas you'd like to improove on teh car. Woudl want it to feel softer or harder on turn in, how well does it feel under breakign heavy acceleartion. And how comfortable do you feel behidnt eh wheel while cornering and on turn in. With a decent garage who understand these things you can get the car tailored to your own personal driving style and requirements. This can make a BIG difference for you specificially and gives you much more confidence behind the wheel. I quite like a slightly oversteery car in order to get a good initial bite on turn in, and it gives me something to play with mid corner (ooh err!), but that's my own personal requirement. Not to everyones taste but it's the direction I've gone with mine in terms of upgrades and settings, and so far I like it! Not sure the tyres would agree But yeah, so long as the wheels aren't pointing in dubious directions, it's mostly down to the driver getting the most out of it.. On the road the driver makes a the biggest difference, on a track car it's probably about 50/50 because your running 100% on the limit 100% of the time. Public roads aren't that reliable

I'm on teh same pice of land as the rest of you, you can walk from pointA to pointB (may take a while) but it is possible.. Had many an argument with businesses in recent years.. Yeah really annoying that.. Difficult to get anythign delivered to Morayshire these days.. The problme is just getting worse as well.. Increasing number now wont deliver to Aberdeenshire either!!! Really takes the piss when it's somethign small which will fit in a jiffy bag via royal mail, they still wont send

I generally rotate mine F+R half war thorugh (did it recently) just to make sure they wear properly. On the camber thing the -1.5 is probably right for standard setup but it is quite a bit of camber. With other suspension upgrades this is less important as the shift in balance affects how the car fixes itself to the road rather than relying on the front end so much

Just to add.. With the camber set that high on mine I'll be monitoring the inside tyre wear carefully! Technically with the increase in caster you don't need as much camber as the caster allows hte wheels to lean in while cornering therefore givign you free camber for cornering
