FRONT camber (L) -1.33 ® -1.27 caster (L) 3.18 ® -3.54 toe 0.00 REAR camber (L) -1.42 ® -1.24 toe -0.03 Note the values above are in degrees an minutes.. So 1.59 + 0.01 is effectively 2.00.. So somethign like 1.01 and 0.56 are infact very close. It's actually been straighted up a bit since then but values much the same.

Yep that's gross... And given the slab-sided ness of it, looks like the sort of toy car you'd build form a cornflakes packet..
-
Not really my thing either.. Looks like it's wearing a skirt! If there was an element on design it wouldn't look so bad, but just looks like the car's been melted and started to sag.. THere are better kits available. Each to their own though.. Also don't think the classics suit the mahoosive scoops either.. But that's just my view.. (say's the guy driving a red bugeye with an airfix wing on the back ) That car in that colour would look great in standard trim today! IMHO
-
Nice work! really tempted by this myself and I'm findign the WRX interior a bit dark.. But They didn't make a red interior for the newage BTW - Just incase you werent aware, those WRX Bucket seats tend to be like gold-dust! Quite rare to find them on the 2nd hand market and can fetch good price if sold! They were the tightest seats fitted to an impreza as standard/option. THey had to widen them up on future models because people complained they were too tight on the bugeye Lookin Good!

Actually youve given me an idea.. Why not get a parts company to sponsor the fling.. Livery up a coupel of cars or get banners with their company logo on it. Show off the photos ont eh website mags and stuff so they get adertising.> in return any SIDC 'MEMBERS' that were on the fling get 50% off any parts bought within 2 weeks of the fling? For the record.. I'm thinking replacing the rear bushes with powerflex ones and just fitting the washer/lock kit to the front bushes to keep them stiff (ooh err!) Works out at just over £60 Hipefully that's the soruce of my *clunk* Nothign else seems worn or loose.. Gave the coilovers a jiggle and nout happening.. To be fair my origonal post can't exacly be classed as damage .. The car is very much in servicable condition and totally drivable! Just a reminder that despite the harsh roads that Skye had to offer and every bit of the cars getting tested much more than they normally would on relatively smooth A and B roads , They ALL came out on top!! (well except maybe the one with four circles on it's grille.. ) S U B A R U - FTW!

Heh No worries.. It still pointed me in teh right direction And thanks fro all the replies and suggestions.. Very knowledgable as always! Will go away and price up options and decide what to go with Thanks for the heads up that the Whitelines are chunkier therefore have no need for the extra rings.. Whatever the decision, it's liekly to be more solid than standard and certain better than what I have at the moment..
-
So that'll be powerflex parts PFR69-118 & PFR69-122 and potentially aroudn £60-£70 Pretty sure whitlines would cost about that for one set! Maybe also a set of the extra diff support washers/bushes while i'll be in that area (SPF1978K)
-
Cheers! Although that listing if for a classic it gives me anotehr diagram to work from for powerflex parts Reasonable price as well, but they won't ship to my postcode Hah! yeah was thinkign the same thing Although some of those roads really were exploiting the true potential of the Impreza, so quite happy to have an excuse to tighten up a couple of bits MOT due next month

Well had a chance to have a proper poke around the car this morning after the fling to see what's left of it.. Total Damage: One of the sidelight bulbs fell out of it housing during the loop around the top of Skye and was rattlign around in the headlight unit (as spotted by DaveyLWRX) - Easy fixed Front Left tyre is now badly worn on the inside! - Rotated tyres round today and will monitor tread wear, incase i need to pull back some of the camber Gear shifter linkage has started rattlign again - nothing some JB-WEld can solve Front of the car has dropped by about 10mm for some reason! - Got a recheck the other day and needed a little tweak to get the toe re-set again. Developed a clunk when cornering.. Can't see find anything wrong with the struts or springs but, the rear diff-mounts are now quite shafted! I knew one of the rear mouintings was slightly worn before hand with a small amount of play, but all four are showign signs of wear with the front ones being pretyt much stuffed with a lot of play in them Anyone know the best place to get bushes labelled (4) and (7) in teh diagram below? Naturally lookign for polybushes but not to fussed if their whiteline or not. Thanks

I'm sure it will be discussed at he AGM today but if not, worthwhile having dedicated forum zones for classic, newage, hatch, saloon, BRZ, Forester, Legacy, Justy, Non-Turbo? For any specific questions/ discussuions for each marque (edited to add: Forgot about the Murtaya's!)

Heh! no problem.. One of the cables I have (think I've got 3 at the moment) that work is this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAG-USB-KKL-ECU-DIAGNOSTIC-CABLE-409-1-OBD2-II-LEAD-VW-AUDI-SEAT-SKODA-/300675663951?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item4601aa884f Plugs into the standard OBD-II port under the dashboard on teh impreza.. there is a socket just next to the steering column roughtly where your right knee would be.. Software. The only thign you'll really need is ECU Explorer. Which is all you need for reading and clearing codes. Fairly easy to use and no, you can't do any damage with this Download For ECU Explorer: http://code.google.com/p/ecuexplorer/downloads/list

P.s. A friend on mine who currently drives a Seat Leon keeps saying he likes the hatch.. Anyone fancy taking him for a pax ride at alford this year to scare the bejesus out of him?

Just found the previous thread where I was on about the OBD-II USB Cables for much cheapness:
-
Yeah ScanGuage-II still very much on the go.. Got mine off eBay from somewhere in Europe IIRC Not necessarily the cheapest device on the market but handy tool to have with plenty functionality without cluttering the dashboard! http://www.scangauge.com/ http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=scangauge-ii I got a pack with extra cable so I can quickly swap it between teh Ka and Scoob Not a great photo but also got a mount to tuck it up above the rear view mirror on the scoob For the ka it's jsut stuck on to the dash with velcro

On it's debut year no less!

moi! Nah.. Thought about it. Didn't want to be encouraged add a meaningful reply to this thread.. I've given my views on the whole name change thing once before and promised I woulnd't rant about it again... With the Club AGM tomorrow I've willing to bet further details will emerge and that things will start progressing not long after P.s. Bugeyes! are one of the most important Imprezas ever! Stronger stiffer and safer than a classic, a sutiable update to the series! Also without the bug your wouldn't of had the blob!!! FACT!!.. or as the americans call it "peanut-eye".. Oh! and how many 'British' world champions did the blob give us? None! Let's not mention the number of WRC world chapmions the the Hawk and Hatch provided?

Ahhhh ok. that makes a bit more sense.. As above.. I have heard about the tumble generator valves throwing up codes every so often if they even slightly malfunction.. SO at present probably nothign to worry about. Think mine flagged that one up (or somethign similar) couple years ago Cheapest way to read and clear codes is using a ODB-II > USB cable and a laptop. (probably about £15 IIRC Correction less than £5! according to my post below ) This will let you read Subaru specific codes and not jsut OBD ones. Other option is a stand alone OBD code reader whcih I've seen for between £50 and £100.. I also ahve a scangauge-II fitted to my car(s) which aside from other things lets you read and clear codes.. Foudn this handy for the first time when heading to inverness on saturday when the CEL came on due to a misfire.. Was able to check and clear the codes which driving! If your interested in teh cheap option lemme know and I'll dig out details on what cable works (See my post below, foudn an old thread I started on the subject)

Have to admit, my brakes feel much better after the fling! Must be because the cars's sitting around too much these days and givign a good run out has done it the world of good! P2012 Intake Manifold Runner Control Bank 2 Circuit Low I'm not really sure what that refers to
-
And I bet you guys thought I bought two umbrellas incase it rained too much! Should make for some cheap yet effective SIDC banners assuming it's not too windy .. Nothign a brick and some string couldn't help with!

Anyone know if Irish-Al is still kicking around? I remember he suggested a trip to Ireland a couple years back but never got off the ground..

I'd have to say a +1 for the BC's.. They don't necessarily need to be bone shakingly hard. You can get different spring rates with them so you can have the comfort of standard springs. withotu looking the firmness from teh dampers. I wen't for the ones a step up from soft. And will admit it's noticably firmer than the PRodrive springs I ran before, even with the dampers set pretty soft. Other thing to note is that with uprated spring on standard dampers. The dampers wear out quite a bit quicker and there more rapid movement from the stiffer spring. But does improove the handling!

Got to say, really enjoyed the loop over the top of skye with teh bumpy bits.. Really tested the workings of the impreza, and showed jsut how capable these machines are!! Not a fan of high speed stuff but really like tight and twisty lumpy bumpy bits.. Assuming it's a clear road.. Did get airborne a couple of times and only grounded it once

Funnily enough.. Just been having a look around underneith the scoob to asses any damage, and noticed the front left on mine is worn significantly more than the rest. Not sure about reccomendations.. I'm keen to give the new Toyo T1-Sports a shot, don't know anyone who's tried them on a scoob. Many put off by expereinces with previous options. The T1-Sports (not to be confused with the older T1-S) should be better than it's predecessors but admitedly probably not quite up to the full grip levels of premium brands. My brother seems to swear by Pirelli's on his RB320. He was a fan of the corsa's but thei've been discontinued now. Strange, Pirelli seems to ba a manufacturer that doesn't get mentioned on here for some reason..

Yeah crackign weekend! Got in the door just over an hour ago.. Trying to decide if it's better than the 1st fling, which for me was still the benchmark.. OOoh.. I think just the way things went this year it's top dog now! Definately THE best SIDC i've beeen to!.. so far... Next year, CANNOT be missed! Will sort out the handful of photos I took and post them up once done.. Although sounds like i'm goign to need to get my butt on to FB to get access to all the extra extra pic's + vid's
