  1. Could be worth a repeat.. The single BBQ run we had before the full highland fling event was pretty cool! encouraged people from all corners of scotland to converge in one central-ish place. That was a good event to get like minded folks together for a bit of banter. Without worrying about multiple fillups. for the journey
  2. yeah that's kinda what my thinking is... Impreza with winter tyres and a bad winter.. The BMW's around the street wont be going far
  3. Eep! Sooo used to living out on the country for last 10 years but moving into quiet part of town in a few weeks.. Maybe I should put the throughs of an Afterburner Vortex on hold for the moment Thankfully (for the neighbours) the scoob isn't used everyday.. Otherwise the 6:40am startup could potentially annoy a few folk.
  4. Cool! Take it you've got yourself registered on RB320oc list? yeah Nur spec r would be loud on the RB! Prodrive box sounds pretty good on them.. I've heard the burble is apparently good for getting little ones to sleep... So good to hear you can keep the scoob! and just swap the backbox out
  5. Nice! I'm sure I remember replying to your origonal thread.. Phantom post deletions. Always has a soft spot for the RB320's What number is she?

  7. As above.. WRX 300 was a kinda last hurra for the blog WRX. No Sti bits but pretty much every optional WRX goody thrown onto it for good measure! PPP installed, Body & interior styling all upgraded from standard! Agree the quoted price above seems steep for what it is.. I'm a little out of touch with pricing at the moment but I'd hagger a ball-park guess for around 4-5k average for that age of WRX... Possibly squeeze 5-6k based on a well looked after limited edition and low milage! Having said that the advert above suggests it may have sold for much more... Not a definitive answer but hopefully gives you an idea. the WRX 300 is a kinda rarely and not everyone knows about its existence, sometimed confused with UK300 which is the tricked out bugeye WRX which was seemingly more popular.. Some other special editions are considered more valuable e.g. WR1 from that era but it was based on the STi and prodrive really went to town on it.. But the WRX300 it was still a limited edition.and still deserves a premuim price over standard WRX's IMHO
  8. I think after doing other suspension parts i.e. springs/coilovers and anti roll bar bits yes... Steering rack bushes were the last handling mod I did to my scoob. Does seem to give more 'feel' through the steering but didn't really make any noticeable difference to outright technical handling, but did give a bit more confidence in the steering. Think there's just too much weight over the front end and currently considering removing front crash bar to see if that helps.. or at least repalcing it with a lighter mod version so it still triggers the airbags properly in teh off chance something was ever to happen.
  9. Depends.. Deer left more physical damage.. The bird just made a mess of the intercooler.
  10. I had that once... and with the splitter inside the scoop, the bird wasn't exactly in one piece after the event... T'was a messy cleanup operation afterwords...
  11. Kinda gutted I'm gonna miss it this year.. Looks like a great spot for overnight stay! Dave - you'll have to send me over the routes just for interest sake
  12. You'd need to check with the powers at be.. but i dont think the the club has MSA insurance these days.. I think we can do closed club events but not public ones so difficult to cover costs. IIRC this is why we lost alford.. Can still hire the track for hooning around tho.
  13. Despite some of my comments reagarding Keith Michaels and poor communications.. I'm still with them for the Scoob, I have tried phonign aroudn teh last 2-3 years but no one has managed to beat their quotes,. Saved about £100 with them this year! now down to £425 all mods declared! Had to call them a few times over the christmas/new year period to make sure renewal details got back to them (lousy renewal date beign 1st Jan isn't handy!)..Admitedly didn't speak to our club contact Gary Moulson directly, but calling on the standard contact number I got through to someone within seconds and everything was cleared up very quickly..So yeah, Sorry gary, I know your naturally busy with all the car club contacts but if you already have a policy with them worth just calling the regular number IMHO.. Always said, Admiral/Elephant are best for unmodded or low modded cars (maybe one or two minor mods) but otehr than that the ones mentioned above should be on the list to call. Keith Michaels, Sky Insurance, Adrian Flux. Out of that lot you'll probably find the best quote your gonna get. Also worth phoning between admiral/elephant, despite beign hte same company, one is often a little cheaper than the other Dunno why.. Coupel things worth noting..Natrualyl location/postcode makes a HUGE difference so difficult compare one persons premium with another.. Also seems NCD doesn't mean as much as it used it.. Still worth keepng a clean sheet though. One thing I have noticed is the length of time you have owned the car DOES make a difference!! Tested this with a few online places as wel by pricing up same details apart from length time owned the car, soem big changes in there, particularly after ownign for 3 years. Kinda confirmed this when I lost the Ka and bought he focus. 1st year with teh focus, which included NCD from the ka, was over £300!! nearly twice what the ka was goign to be! 2nd year, it's dropped to £200! No changes to details! just owned the car for a year! SO yeah, your first year with a car is probably gonna be a expensive one. . o O (Sorry.. turned itno story mode there for a minute....)
  14. Used to use standard sort of snow foam stuff but last time I wanted to give Meguiars Hyper Wash a try! http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/meguiars-hyper-wash-cat2.html at £35 for learly 4l it's not necessarily cheap to buy but you dont need much so lasts ages!! Delivers a nice thick foam and as with all Meguiars stuff has a nice smell to it too! Had this bottle well over a year and still have about a litre left.. Reckon I would buy again!
  15. Hi, You should find the connector where your knees sit, below the steering wheel
  16. I really like the front! But I've seen pics on teh rear end and it's a bit bland with what appears no room for a proper wing on the back As a bit more of a 'grown up' impreza, I'd still ahve one
