  1. Cheers for the comments guys.. re-assuring I've made the right choice with this one.. Unlike the black stripe which I was never really happy with but thought I'd give it a go.. Dunno yet, only done about 50 miles on them so far.. But on rock hard setting it's bloody lovely on roudnabouts. I've never felt the car so neutrally balanced.. Booting it roudn a empty roundabout 2 or 3 times in 2nd gear and it just kept gripping!!!! Not been out on a "fast road" yet, but need to bult up confidence with the car again, not properly driven it for months Did have prodrive springs on it before.. For hte drop I just stuck them on the way they came but felt hte rears were sitting too low to raised it abotu 15mm and it looks prett event front and rear now.. Need more miles before giving judgement on them and need a bit more camber on front right wheel. With the damper adjustment you really can switch it between floaty to rock hard! Also quit elike the idea of being able to make the rear that litlte bit stiffer than the front SHould but out some of hte understeer Yeah! SHould be.. WIl have the scoob along to cooper park in the mornign but will swap it for the Ka for maybe a coupel stages later in teh day.. GRounded the scoob last year on a couple of stages don't wanna be doing that too often..
  2. New front splitter and BC Coilovered Better than the evo style black stripe that's for sure!!
  3. I found the same.. You cant really see the standard WRX scoop whiel driving, but the STi one definatey catches your eye more.. Looks better too withouth being the huge postbox they stuck on the blobeye..
  4. Spot on there...
  5. Same here.. I quite fancy a wee roadster or somethign, maybe a MX5.. Even better a S2000 But the scoob is just soo much more planted.. What you can't do withe FWD which you can do with AWD and to a certain extent RWD is plant the throttle going round tight bends.. Scares the hell out of passengers who are FWD owners and you give it a welly mid way through a corner on a wet road I want one of those...
  6. Thumbs up on the splitter I've been running with one of those for a couple years now and apart from the more agressive look it also helps on those 50+mph corners Any wider angled shots with the splitter on? P.s. I ended up colour coding mine.. BTW - How clean is that car!!!
  7. Really pleased to see you with a fozzy STi again! Couldn't believe it when you said you were selling the last one!! . o O (and to replace it for a hatch, of all things... )
  8. The idea of the convertible is pretty cool and suits the Classic shape.. But it would completely kill the handling..
  9. Welcome Nice looking classic you got there! AutoEcosse should be able to help you out http://www.autoecosse.com/ 72-76 Monifieth Road Broughty Ferry Dundee DD5 2RZ Tel: 01382 477992 Fax: 01382 739660
  10. I'd stick with the current one... BTW - That Hawkeye is sweeeeeeeet!!!!
  11. That's Tidy! I like that!
  12. A little further away but there's also BitzMotorsport in Nairn.. http://www.bitzmotorsport.com/
  13. Had similar experience on the way back from alford the other week.. Silver Corsa full of sub 20 y/o's (by the look of it) pull along side at 60mph on single carrage way, looking over with grins on their faces wanting a race.. WTF!! What they clearly didn't realise was the truck coming the other way!! As I slammed the brakes on only for them to "just notice" why I did that and they darted into the correct side of the road with not much room to spare. No wonder there are young drivers getting killed on them if they are playing that sort to games!!! P.s. I was in the Ka!! Just wanted to point out that despite the good naturedness in the origonal post there are complete and utter ar$3h0les out there using the same tarmac as the rest of us...
  14. It's still kicking around: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/chat/ But wasn't used that much.. was a novelty to start with but people found the forums were much better..
  15. There was a thread on here recently with someone refurbing their wheels.. Can't remember where that is.. I've got a set of spare wheels as well I was plannign on refurbing. Started rubbing down one of them the other day. My plan for the moments is: Rub down with some heavy wet n dry paper.. About 600 grade.. (got some nice blistering on the wheels that need removing Once the main marks are smoothed out and top layer of paint scuffed, move up a throguht egrades to 1500 or 2000 to get a silky smooth finish Then just as painting body panels, primer, paint, laquer.. It's gonna take a fair bit of time to get it all rubbed down in every neuk and cranny, but never mind.. Might try find an "invetive" way of quickly cleaning the inside of hte wheels which are well and truely caked with brake dust.
  16. Personally, I'd say that' was a bit chavvy.. Idealle the PIAA's are the ones to go for, but I went for a cheaper option and bought a set of Hella 550FF's from the US. They hmake a HUGE difference at night!! Although because they stick out a few inched further than the fogs, they spoil the look of the car somewhat...
  17. One of my less 'tidier' modifications to the car... I took a signal from the full beam lamp line on the dashboard and fed that through the fog switch to the relay.. Not pretty but means driving lamps only come on with full beam (or at least light is on) and fog switch on... I did it all with connectors behind the dash so it's easy to switch back.. One of these days I'll go back and make it switchable.. I tend to stick the fogs back on in the summer and keep the driving lamps for winter...
  18. Abolustely cracking day for it! Big thanks to JohnS for organising and everyone else who helped pull everythign and gave a few extry hands over hte weekend to get things set-up. What a difference it' made on the saturday! I'll confess I'd almost lost interest in Alford, especially after that bloomin big building was put in place a coupel years back But today has really got me excited about it again! Managed to work round the area and get things layed out nicely! Day started off a little quiet but the weather really brought out the people, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.. The head2head racing was great! Nice change to the day! Definately a better day than I expected it to be!!! Roll on 2011!!! Might have the scoob back on the road again by then Got a few piccies and a video from the day which I'll upload later.. ... But more importantly did anyone out there get any piccies of the Ka doing round the tracK on what felt like 3 wheels ?
  19. true.. but never knew there were any extra benefits of being R/o
  20. Sounds like similar symptoms to the main car battery beign flat... Worth a check..
  21. possibly cutting it a bit fine.. thanks for hte offer though... Just for the sake of interest, the bits i have would take up 1/2 the boot and flag poles would basically stretch from the back of the boot to the handbrake/gearstick.., so yeah it does take up a bit of space. Nice one! More than happy to nip through to inverness/beauly to drop off Pretty much anytime would be suitable for myself Evening/weekend..
  22. Heh, That got your attention.. Looking for any fellow SIDC'ers who would be willing to help transport the main bulk of the SIDC stand down from Morayshire to tommytcut in clackmannanshire. Stand woudl need to be at it's destination before the Bridge of Allan event on 4th July. Anyone heading down south from the north in the next couple of weeks who wouldn't mind taking the stand with them part of the way? Not looking for anyone to do the whole run with it, but maybe shuffle it down the road over the next couple of weeks. I'd do it myself but thought I'd ask for any volunteers en-route to save me the £70 round trip Although the run down over the lecht and down glenshee was damn good fun last time I have the flagpoles so any transport vehicle woudl need to either have foldy down rear seats of the ski-hatch to allow them to fit in the car.. Any help appreciated! Thanks, Al
