  1. You may not need to swap the ECU. I know it is true of NewAges that ECUs had two maps; one for manual cars and the other for standard cars, a one size fits all sort of deal. At production, the respective map would be switched on for the car. This is how AndyF can provide twin maps for cars: an economical one and a super-duper one. Those who have this feature, engage the respective map from the rear-window heater button. Of course, you would have to pay for a remap, so that's another few hundred notes added to the cost and that is IF this twin-map feature exists in Classics. Oh and, this type of ECU is no longer presently used in the Hawkeye cars, so I never got my eco-map
  2. Takk the bits off and take it to Andy F to replace the standard map, simple. I don't think it would cost the £350 suggested either; much cheaper than that. Best to contact him and find out directly.
  3. yeah, its really cool! Must be great to have all these wonderful skills
  4. LOL! and LOL!
  5. I think you are right. Adjsuting the ride-height will require the geometry to be readjusted to suit.
  6. LOL! Aye yer a witty man Tommo!
  7. yup, looks great.
  8. Lovin the new STi SD!
  9. Some nice driving at the hairpin G Mac!
  10. Ouch!!! I'd be well-gutted if I had done that! And yes, jack it up both sides and smash that bollard into tiny little bits!
  11. Stephen, you forgot to mention one other thing... I happened to notice your interest in the car wane and a lack of attendance at events when a certain Nicola got involved with you
  12. I often get a good laugh because my sense of humour lends itself to the type of humour that's going around (I find MM as well as others to be very witty). Personally, all this chit chat about "Winston this and Winston that" and "goats this and goats that" didn't crack a smile out of me; I simply did not find it remotely funny. Sorry to all goat and Winston fans, but it's just not me. Banter and the like, is usually a by-product of meeting people and getting to know them. This is very apparent after a run or an event when you read the comments in the ensuing thread. So my point is "meet people". Perhaps Winston and his goat was lost on me, because I was not a part of that group. I think SS is a great forum. I have been to many others, but have never found the variety of topics nor the speed at which people post responses to questions anywhere near what we have in here. It's not just car-queries you get replies to, but cameras, computers, legal advice... you name it, some smart a55 has an answer! What more do you want???? Ha!
  13. Considering all the things that are currently going on (see diablo/Scoobzie thread for reference), some might consider it as being great already. Besides, in the so-called "good old days" I'm sure there were members who were disgruntled, just like some who feel that way now (apparently). People move on all the time so its up to the remnant of the so-called "good old days" to move with the times and stop living in the Gumball-Wilky days of the past. Make friends with the new faces and encourage them to embrace the community and share your enthusiasm for the brand with them. Some of the people who are harping on about these great times of the past, don't come to meets any more and therefore attempt to live on the web-based community only. For me, that's depriving one's self of the full package. I can honestly say, hand on heart, that there is not a single member of any meet anywhere that I dislike, not one. And when I get out to meets, I always have a good time. My interest in my car has waned somewhat, hence my lack of activity of late, but that’s MY fault. I’m sure this post will make me popular, NOT!
  14. As I NewAge owner, I felt dirty looking at the "enemy" LOL! Must say, some stunning examples in here. the Soundie-Mobile looks awesome with the decals and tasteful styling. The pictures are really good too, which really show the car off. JW
  15. Love it! Love it! LOVE IT!
  16. I have DEFIs Drop by any time. You could pick up the Pod, gauges, controller and sandwhich plate for around £400 - 500 second hand. I had cheaper guages fitted before the DEFIs and to be honest, they didn't look anywhere near as impressive. They were smaller and when the sunlight hit them, it was impossible to read them. Having said that, going by the readings on my DEFIs, the cheaper guages were spot on. craigmcD fitted them for me
  17. Some nice arty-farty ones and some real hot cars. Here is a couple snaps of my Irn Bru can
  18. I didn't up rate mine initially, and Andy was fine with this and I ran with it right up until my piston busted, so it works fine. It was in an effort to eliminate the engine issues I was experiencing in a lowest-to-highest-cost fashion, which caused me to eventually swap out the pump. Since I was replacing the pump, I decided to up rate, as the cost differences were negligible. I now have the Walbro 255 thingy costing just under £100; so in the grand scheme of Level 1 upgradey things, its a negligible and therefore "advisable" mod. If nothing else, it will save you doing it when you go for more power, for we ALL know you WILL want more!!!! I think the advice to up rate the pump is a left-over pre-Hawkeye requirement.
  19. Yup. The downpipe starts from the cat, to another smaller catted section, then to the centre section that has a resonator in it and lastly the backbox. The Meercat option will replace the downpipe and the second cat as well, in a one-part solution. The only other exhaust section, is the up pipe, located on the other side of the turbo. Older models had a cat in this, the Hawkeyes don't Also, I was looking at your Stage 1 list and you mention a fuel filter... didn't you mean a fuel pump? A fuel pump is a cheapish mod but is not required for this stage
  20. Thomas Meercat will sort you out. You will need a remap with a sports cat, which will unleash another you another 40 or 50 ponies Mines was a 100 Cell system at the cost of £400. J
  21. I'd have thought that there would be some play in the wheel if there was an issue with the bearing. Also, have a check for irregular tyre wear, also an indicator of shafted bearing. I took mine to Hypertech to get the bearing sorted and discovered as there was irregualr tyre-wear and play in the wheel. I think it was £200 including parts and labour. However, when Dunc got the wheel off, he discovered that it was something to do with a lose nut on the drive-shaft or soemthing - promptly tightened up and a ton of dosh saved
  22. Backward thinking Evolutionists, and every last copy of the erroneous "Origin of Faeces by Means of Natural Selection" from whence their tripe came (establish fact: every proposed meachanism of evolution stated in this book has long since been rejected by ALL the scientific community) Ignorant people who think that Tom Cruise has anything to do with original Biblical 1st Century Christianity Ignorant people who actually think that evolution is a brand of science (not a single scientific fact associated with this vaccuos tripe in any way, shape or form).
  23. Diamond tints in Rutherglen. £100 for the back windows
  24. Maybe they create the new ones because they can't enforce the old ones. A sort of replacement if you will
