  1. As if life isn't bad enough for motorists with the shambolic state of the roads, excessive costs for fuel, huge hikes in road tax and now pish like this!!!!! I have been pulled a number of times for mine and fined once but I was only fined £30. So does that mean that the fines have risen by 100%? I was told that I can get pulled and warned one more time, third strike I'm out. That means that I have to replace the plate with a regular one at my cost. I have a set of legal plates in the boot just in case. "Sorry Adolf, er I mean officer, I have a set right here, just not had time to put them on yet "
  2. Yeah good choice! I'd have thought almost a grands worth of suspension would have lasted a bit longer than 2 years.
  3. Yeah, that'll be the last time for sure!
  4. Ah! I see, thanks anyways
  5. Much ££££££££££?
  6. I had the Teins before and I can't honestly say their was a marked difference with the COs. I think I talked myself into Teins LOL!
  7. Yeah, but then I'd be spending more money to buy a second car then run that car as well. Its not really the money, its the value for money, if you see what I mean? I love the car but does it provide a "value" equal to the financial outlay? I'd have to say no, whereas before, I would have said yes. It would be a different story if I had future plans for it, but I don't. I have lost the track-bug for various reasons, and modding the car was for the track. So I have reached a dead-end in a sense. I couldn't face advertising the car and all of that, because that is a concerted effort and I'm not ready for that! BUT if a soul came along with ample reddies and said, "Geez yer motor" I might just clench my butt cheeks, hold my breath, close my eyes and say, "OK Hurry!" Then cry myself to sleep for a week, gradually coming around as I see all the new things that my extra cash purchased! But then again, the summer is almost upon us - long warm nights - Scoobie meets - pack mentality - road rage! That thought brought a smile to my face Oops - sorry for the thread crash!
  8. If you read the other thread, you will know that my COs are shafted so I need a solution. I haven't the time or patience to send them back to Tein for repair (especially when they don't give you a price up front!) so I'm thinking of putting the stock struts back on with a new set of lowering springs. So, what to buy? I have ruled out Prodrive on account of the slightly higher ride height, so its down to Eibach V Tein (or any others?). So what does everyone suggest? I'd snap up a set of 2nd hand ones if they are going. Car is WRX MY06 Thank you!
  9. I think I'll just buy lowering springs and use my standard shocks. Then I can get the COs repaired at my leisure and put them back on again or sell them at a later date.
  10. thanks guys. Scott, did Dunc give you an idea how much it will cost? Can't believe that there's not a service centre locally that can do it. If Id know that, I'd have avoided them like the plague.
  11. But I don't go out much in the car at the weekend and I enjoy driving it as well. My rear COs are goosed now too! No doubt down to our superb road surfaces - NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Hi All Another set of Tein COs bite the bullet. My NSR shocker is goosed and the OSR is on its way out too. What's the procedure for getting these sorted? Do they have to go back to Tein or is there somewhere more local who can do it? I still have standard suspension in the garage, but I don't fancy driving around on jelly stilts, so I think I will stick on a set of lowering springs with these. Any advice appreciated. JW
  13. I think if the right offer came along, I'd let it go. Can't drive it fast (shocking roads); only used as a commuting tool, costing over £600 a month to run (thanks to fuel and road tax)... Gotta ask myself is it worth it. Therefore, if the right offer was made that allowed me to settle my loan, I'd take it, buy a cheap car and spend my cash on other things. It's not that I want rid of it, but I would let it go, probably with much sadness and no doubt, regret.
  14. Buy mine... Search over
  15. Just wondering... is it possible to fit any CO/Shocker from a set to any corner? Or, does each corner have a specific Co/Shocker?
  16. Smart a55!
  17. You're to clever for your own good, aren't you?
  18. You going to fit them yourself?
  19. I agree, 100% That's my next look for the car I think... and 1K is a great price! Who does it at that price Colin?
  20. I'm doing this soon and have already done it once. This time though I have the sandwich plate for my DEFIs attached to the filter, so no doubt that will cause me a problem or five. Spark plugs where pretty straight forward bar one of them; the rear one to the right hand side as you stand over the bonnet. And you're right, it is very satisfying
  21. I'd strongly recommend against installing coilovers. Sure, they are great for handling but the ride is way too hard for the disgraceful condition of our roads. If I still had my Tein lowering springs, Id be taking them off and putting these back on. I originally fitted them for track use, but the car wont ever likely see the tarmac of Knockers again... at least not while I own it. The one thing I'd say regarding the Prodrive springs is that they don't go as low as the Tein springs. The lower lookin, the more aggressive looking
  22. Nice one 150 miles with the SpecG! Are you sure??!?!? My car was similar to yours in power (but as you may recall, mine's had the little bit more oomph! ) and I get 240ish.
  23. Very nice... defo making it your own
