  1. Perfectly understandable given your situation. It seems that such behaviour is unavoidable, but its like all things thorough-bred; they are twitchy, tempromental and at times unreasonable, but awesome at full tilt. I'm like that too and as stated by someone else, my car is not modded nearly to the levels you have. I suppose I'm nearer Stephen's level, especially the gearbox. I worry about it breaking, however, I can't see my avoiding track days for too much longer. The thrill is too great and if the car breaks then I'll worry about it then. Hopefully I'll be able to source the cash for a 6-speed in due course, and who knows, if I win the lotto, I'll install some PPG goodies! I have noticed my oil temps creeping up to 102Degrees under normal use - any ideas why that is?
  2. Yeah funny ha ha!
  3. Cool! I think that is the only time I have seen you car clean Stephen! Looks good.
  4. Only on pre-MY06 cars though
  5. Is that 242g/Km emmisions the same for the 2.5s?
  6. Ah yes! Silly me. Yeah, decat the up pipe, it should be fine for MOT with the main cat in the DP. Not that I can speak from experince, but going by what I have read and been told. Presently, I only have the sports cat and that's it, but I have been assured that this will be good enough for the MOT, so you should be fine. Also, will your car be ok to run with a decatted uppie without a remap?
  7. Oh dear. I feel your pain! What car do you have? EDIT: Its an RB5 right? I thought you had a Newage. I don't anything about Classics, so I'll stay out of this one.
  8. Am I missing something? Didn't you say your MOT is due and your going to replace your dodgy DP with a decat? How will ever pass if you do that? No, I don't think there is any point in that. Wrapping the downpipe is done to prevent the heat from the pipe getting into the engine bay and raising running temperatures. The third pipe is under the car and is therefore far enough away from the engine bay so that temps are not affected.
  9. Thanks guys. Will give those a try.
  10. A frind of mine has asked me to pick her up on her wedding day! So does any of you with former wedding-car experience know where I can get those white robbons and how to attach them? Thank you!
  11. Can't fault the quality at all, looks really good.
  12. Said it before and I'll say it again... DON'T buy one of those hard drive ones. The shock casues them to cut out. I bought a SD one, excellent but doensn't have the socket thing you want.
  13. Same here... Those look superb! Car looks so much better for it.
  14. What you need is a pre MY06 car. The reason that you can have twin boost maps is down to the design of the ECU. The ECU has two boost maps already available; one is used for automatic cars, the other for manual cars. So at manufacture stage the correct map is chosen for the relevant car at installation. However, with Andy's bag of tricks he is able to use both of these maps and allow the driver to switch between them in the aforementioned fashion. People with the Hawkeye cars are not afforded the luxury of twin maps because Subaru no longer produce automatic Imprezas.
  15. Yeah. I never thought my piston and gearbox would have suffered in the way that they have after installing the VF34. I really expected the clutch to go long before this, yet its still going strong after 6 or 7 track days. I think I just got a huge slice of crappy-luck with the piston though, becasue they really should have been capable of running 340 break. Now that the forged jobs are in I don't ever really need to worry about that again and I have a platform for even more power (more stages) should I ever wish to pursue that route. Next serious mod though has to be the gearbox, either that or simply not use the car's full potential.
  16. Empty Heed knows of a stick-on type that you can buy which requires no need for a hole to be made in your bonnet.
  17. Yup! Especially if the car breaks on the way through them
  18. LOL! Yours is modded though, so yours doesn't really count (do you have a full dcat?). Having said that, I kept you behind me on the track. though going by your other post it would seem that you were losing boost pressure. Any more excuses? Haha!
  19. Very nice, enjoy!
  20. Nice car Robert.
  21. Empty Heid that I mentioned earlier, is putting a scoop on hers for the look.
  22. Mark driving with two eyes is a scary thought!
  23. Nice one Craig, don't leave it too long
