  1. Welcome to the clan Pete I'm sure you'll do a great job, Al you've done well for the club, hope your not expecting a gold watch cause your retiring.
  2. My 2 would like to as well but only 7 & 5. Checked with KH when we were at the Scottish Motorshow and they said minimum age was 8.
  3. Usual Glasgow/Strathclyde meet, this month it the annual BBQ, see Scottish Scoobies Events for details. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=148728
  4. Had a great day on Saturday, weather was amazing. Thanks to Chrissy and Tam for entertaining the kids they had a ball. We also managed to get out in a couple of cars round the track without waiting. Hopefully we can get the stand looking even better for future shows.
  5. I we the prodrive route purely for warranty, you'll get a better map and more power using Andy F. Also good if you plan on modding the car further.
  6. Very cheap makes you wonder if there is something wrong, but you would make it back plus more if you had to break it.
  7. Your right Dave, rear of the blob and hawk are the same but bug was different, think my bug had more of a curve on the boot also alot of aftermarket spoilers say 03-07 and exclude bugs.
  8. Used Goodyear F1's for the last 3 years GSD3 and asymetric but new wheels came with Dunlop SP-01 which are good. Running Falken FK452's on the Type R which are good on track but a bit soft.
  9. Talked to Lesley at Total Impreza they are going to cover the day, think they are sorting out the classes & rules and AWD will award the prizes.
  10. Good day out, kids had a ball and eat everything in site. We done to Tam for beating the White Evo in the Show N Shine. Nice to see everyone stayed for the day and made the stand look good. Remembered the sun cream halfway through the day so not to red.
  11. 10/10 for effort, we know how much it must have pained you to write like that. All you need is another username and you can start talking to yourself.
  12. Geometry setup will look at you camber, caster and toe on the front and camber and toe on the rear, instead of just tracking the front like most garages. You looking for somewhere that does 4 wheel alignment, get a fast road setting put on the car and you will be amazed at the handling, avoid the prodrive settings as have found they burn tyres. Hope this helps.
  13. Have you had a geometry setup done since the bump?
  14. You'll be getting stands and a mirror to show the underneath it's that clean. Will be good to see back behind the wheel. Return of the Chinese ???
  15. Happy Birthday Ritchie, round of V-power on you at the next meet.
  16. Are you keeping the big red shoes just in case you return. Or are you using them in the Civic. It been a pleasure, you and Imy were the first people to welcome me at my first Glasgow meet and made me feel included.
  17. Have posted in event meet at 7.30 so leaving 7.35 prompt is spot on. I think we just managed to keep the cars clean on the run up last year not to many splatted bugs. 1. badbaz 2. gbsti 3. Phil MC 4. STI Pretender 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
  18. Very nice, could do with that on mine.
  19. Neil you have to stop working as much and get out and enjoy the car again. As for the people there are plenty good people on here, you being one of them. Your always will to help or sort a problem. Remember the club is more than a forum. Get your backside to the BBQ next month the open road and badly cooked sausages will put a smile on your face again.
  20. Absolutely gutted for you, at least both of you were ok. Must admit of all the cars in the clubs this was my favourite, got a really good look at it on the borders run when Andy had it and loved the look and the lines.
  21. You could always use Jimser's old trick and plumb a CO2 fire extinguisher in to keep the temps down.
  22. No read as a flame should probably have explained a bit better. Just thought if we take times for the day and see who get fastest in each class. BHP it's hard to say what you figure is, your relying on figures from different sources Tuners, RR and garages. A good example is my newage I have a printout from Extreme showing 329 but I also have a printout from Hypertech saying 279 which was done over a year after the Extreme day. I don't know which is right (it goes fast that all that counts ). The simplest way to judge every car is use the one data source which is the time you run on the track, were all at the same place, using the same timing gear (wait for the comments about which is the faster lane at Crail ) on the same day. At the end of the day it's only a bit of fun. My biggest competition will be myself to see if I can improve my time from last. Happy to go with the majority, Type R is running 330 by Andy's bum dyno and 288 on the RR.
  23. We usually meet at Old Inns and head up. Tam or Brian will let us know when we need to be there for setting up the stand. Will sort out a meeting time after that.
