  1. Craig McD just did mine on the newage and Duncan at Hypertech did the one on the classic so both good. Belt and tensioners I got on ebay for the newage was advised by Craig to get a Gates belt.
  2. I cracked my bumper last year and got it plastic welded and sprayed. You can't tell it was ever damaged.
  3. Sounds like out way of trying to making the trail go cold to find Ron.
  4. I'll get my trunks looked out. A classic track car eats money, you either break something or want is to handle better or go faster. I'd go for Option 1.
  5. Hi and welcome, I'm booked for the SIDC trackday so might see you there. If you are doing a lot of trackdays membership is a good idea (now only £20) as you save £10 on each trackday. Also special offer in the shop just now for early booking saving another £10.

  7. A little search found this 'The Forester GT uses a relatively low output version of the EJ20 turbo – it uses an 8.5:1 static compression ratio, a small turbocharger and intercooler, relatively tame camshafts and a conservative ECU tune. Max output is 125kW and there’s 240Nm at just 3200 rpm. A five-speed manual or four-speed auto comes fitted. For the MY01 version output was increased 5kW and 5Nm. This came from altered cylinder head intake ports with Tumble Generator Valves, a larger turbine housing, fitment of a pre-turbo cat converter and updated engine management and ignition systems. Looks like its a WRX engine but different add-ons (turbo, cams, etc) if you use it the short block should be a standard open deck and you'd have to add your wrx parts on.

  9. Maybe we should start OAP concessions for our senior members. Happy Birthday Del.
  10. Wondered where you had disappeared to, Cambridge won't know what's hit them.

  15. If the Site Manager agree everything verbally write everything that was agreed in a letter and give a copy to the Site Manager and send a copy to the office. It covers your back if they don't honour what was agreed or if the Site Manager leaves or is changed. Nice to see another full member.
  16. Unfortunely the sign of the times builders cutting corners to make more profit. Developers are really bad for not fixing problems and NHBC or Zurich that give the guarantee really are useless at the small defects. Compile a list of all your defects so you can hand one to the Site Manager, send it to head office with a letter of complain, talk to neighbours if you have problems so do they probably and you can all make a joint effort to get things fixed. If your still not getting anywhere talk to the Citizen Advice they get a lot of these nowadays so they will have other possible angles to get things resolved. Give me a shout if there's anything you want to ask, I work for a decent building companies that attend to their defects as a surveyor. Robert
  17. Sad news thoughts are with the family. RIP
  18. Ian Grieve had a Diesel with the STI bumpers on a while back, I have to have a second look just to see what it was. As for MPG I get about 19 day to day and 28-30 on motorways.
  19. STI is a better car when the modding bug hits, gearbox and engine are stronger and brakes are better.
  20. RB268 has the red that looks good against a black car also Wulsey's old white car had red that looked really good.
  21. Nice looking P1 and planned mod will give you a nice power increase. Roads are a bloody nightmare just now you spend more time looking for potholes than enjoying driving the car.
  22. Had a drive of the new saloon last week (Not a perk for being chairman my daughters dancing is across the road from a subaru dealer) and was every impressed with the handling and performance. Car feels a lot stiffer than my newage. I wasn't keen on the hatch but I actually like the saloon especially with the high level spoiler. Can't comment on the build quality but interior was nice and seats held you well.
  23. Saving for bigger brakes for the Classic and going to fit my new centre section to the newage. Rest of my money is going on my 50k service. Neil how much weight does the lpg tank add?
