The logbook is about the only thing that will give you information on the car. The model number shows it is a JDM 4dr WRX and the engine indicates it is a 1994cc DOHC 16v turbo but with out the import documents you will not find anything before when it was imported. As for the problems I would get the car to a garage quickly as a Check Engine light could indicate a major problem. It sounds like the car hasn't been mapped for UK fuel nor was it converted properly to drive in the UK. The best advice I can give is take it to a Subaru specialist and let them give it a full once over that way you will get a better picture of what is wrong and needs done, a rough cost and then you can decide whether to keep it or not. Hope there's nothing to serious and once fixed you can enjoy Impreza ownership.

Is it still MOT'd and Tax'd just think of the reg transfer.

My old exhaust on the Type R was so loud it made Welsho's mirror vibrate when we did the Santa Crusie run one year. Was a bit OTT, now running an HKS silent just in case they ever check noise levels at KH. Get a bung for the exhaust, gives you the option of toning it down when you need.

I had looked at T/A OHW as I thought about Knockhill just for something a bit different from trackdays but the initial expense put me off. May consider it in the future but would like the car to have bigger brakes and more power. Will probably enter a few rounds of sprints once I get a brake upgrade as have notice when running Kames that my brakes are the weak point of the car.

I assume your looking at a brake upgraded. The STI (R180) hub won't fit a WRX (R160) as the driveshafts are different sizes. The backplate will and with a conversion kit will let you fit bigger brakes.

Merc CLK Black Series there is two I see up in near us and the noise is just amazing.

Is it a brand new engine or second-hand, supplied by you or the garage?
