  1. i had a meercat sportcat fitted last month and it is very good quality. get yourself signed up to the group buy.
  2. so when you gonna race the F430 lol. Car is going to be good man. Get it on the road asap\lol.
  3. i know what you mean about running costs. Hopefully if it goes you will get a decent amount for it. One thing that would be worth selling separate is the defis as they have rocketed in price. keep us posted on your decision. Chris
  4. John your crazy if you sell it but i understand where you are coming from. Once you get to the point of no return with modding you never make the money back. Would you consider putting back to standard to try make some money back? Would you not miss the thrill and power and the social aspect attached to the car? Chris
  5. was a good day. Sun held out for most of it with only a wee rainy spell. Chris
  6. this post is useless without pics. when i changed the exhaust on mine i noticed the whoosh noise that you describe. Never really found out what it was but it sounds good. Chris
  7. was across at jimser's today and there is some sort of filter thing on the right hand side beside the fuse box. just wondered if anyone had any pictures step by step for the 2.5.
  8. Does anyone know of any "How to" guides for changing spark plugs on the hawkeye sti's? cheers chris
  9. car is looking superb Geo. The best colour me thinks. Chris
  10. what fuel mpg you getting these days John? Am due a remap in Aug hopefully. cheers Chris
  11. i would recommend meercat for the backbox as well. They will taylor make the backbox to your requirements. I opted for a not too loud version which sounds great. Chris
  12. Can anyone recommend a supplier for heat grade 7 spark plugs for a 2.5L hawkeye sti? All i can find is suppliers for 2.0L models. This is for my remap in Aug. What spark plugs are the hawkeye remapped people running? Thanks Chris
  13. i do roughly the same mileage as you and i love my hawkeye sti for this. It potters around town in 6th no problem and can pull itself in 6th as well. The drive is not too harsh and you will always be safe knowing that if you want to mod it the potential is there. Fuek economy is not too bad as i am getting around 240 miles to 3/4 of a tank combined driving. There are some great bargains out there. Chris
  14. that is a stunning car.
  15. yup i have to agree cusco kid is the man for whiteline and now many other performance parts
  16. has anyone ported standard headers on a hawkeye sti and had it mapped? If so what were the results? Should i get the pops and bangs turned on or are they annoying? Can Andy vary the amount as i would only want it to be subtle lol. chris
  17. I thought it would be next year before i got my remap but i have managed to save the pennies and am looking at August time hopefully, My list of mods so far are: aps CAI walboro fuel pump meercat sportcat downpipe exhaust system which has been heat wrapped sfs afta maf hose performance friction front pads recirculating oil catch tank The car has had it's 30k service so spark plugs have been renewed. I seem to have covered off all of the mods on Andy's mod list and went a wee bit further with the CAI but just wondered if it was worth porting the standard headers and heat wrapping them, just heat wrapping them or leaving them alone? Am welcome to any comments/suggestions. cheers Chris
  18. cracking car bobby. can't wait to see what you have planned for it. Chris
  19. cheers greig. the water is on the outside of the grey interior panels so think it is more likely coming from boot seal or spoiler holes. With the back seats not easily removed i was wondering if abyone had a similar issue and what had caused it. Guess i will need to figure out how to take the back seat panel off then get the hose out and see if i can find the leak. Chris your car was looking good on sunday
  20. i have found some wet patches in my boot on the right hand side betwwen the flap for the intercooler spray bottle and the back seat. has anyone experienced this or has any possible causes for me to look at. cheers chris

  22. Car was serviced at 31k and i am still on my first set of brake pads. What is the average lifespan of standard pads on an sti? cheers Chris
