I am not promoting anything i dont believe you can see anything at all,how about i change it then to my missus jogging would that make you happier,believe me it wouldnt be any different. Twobeers Posted July 23, 2003 Share Posted July 23, 2003 It may be worth noting that if such images/animations are allowed for use on the forum, the SIDC committee as owners and moderators of the forum have a legal responsibility to inform any users that offensive or adult content may be contained/viewable on the site. I do have a problem with the one you are using at the moment. This site is access by thousands of children, who all have a love for our cars. Not just boys, but girls too. I do not think they should be exposed to such images. I am very broadminded and am well known for being un politically correct, but the SIDC forum is not the place for this. Please show some respect for our younger readers and change the icon. Link to comment

cameron_leask Posted July 23, 2003 Share Posted July 23, 2003 Regardless of whether or not any individuals who have posted on this thread find these icons offensive or not, it is true to say that there are people who will find them offensive. I am pleased to report that the SIDC forums have run successfully for several years requiring the minimum of moderator intervention and that's something that I would like to see continue in the future. However, we have numerous members who surf the forums with their children beside them. Similarly this is a forum about fast cars and accordingly it is reasonable to expect that we have young children surfing this and the other SIDC websites to find out about their favourite cars. The forums in particular get a lot of internet traffic and there are visitors who browse, but never post. I for one do not wish to get into a situation where an angry parent, who has nothing to with the club and no interest in Subarus, is contacting the Club because their child has been viewing pornographic or otherwise questionable material on our website. These forums and indeed the activities of the SIDC in general are a "family show", and accordingly I'd like to ask anyone who has such icons to consider changing their icons for something more appropriate as soon as possible. If the icons in question aren't removed by 3pm Friday afternoon (ie 25th July) then regrettably I'll have to disable custom icons completely, for all users on the forum, in order to remove the risk of the SIDC websites being accused of hosting potentially offensive material. I'm sure you will understand the reasons, should I have to take this step. Hopefully I won't have to: in which case, thanks in advance for cooperating and keeping the forums family-friendly.
