Carl Davey Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 To the tune of Mariah Careys "I Don't Want Alot For Christmas" - don't know if that's the proper song name but wtf, here goes... I don't want alot for Christmas, But there is just one thing i do, I just want to fly to Aberdeen, On a Super Puma L2, I don't care if it's red, Or even blue and white instead, What more can i say? I am going home for Christmas Day... Probably just as well i'm an offshore monkey rather than a poet. Carl BP Miller Flight Due 21st Dec
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 I'm an EX-tiger who really misses the low alcohol caliber lager and budget 2 headed turkeys @ Chrimbo offshore The millenium on the Ocean Guardian was Xmas in Taiwan was . Always amuses me how many folk offshore blatantly refuse to get into the swing of things.........I can just picture Jools with his paper hat on and mountain of chippalatoes (sp?) Enjoy your time off Cal
ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 I am away for xmas and new year and i refuse to get into the swings of things........................just cant be ar$ed!!!!!!!! Christmas has lost the special feeling as it has become far too commercialised and money orientated. BA HUMBUG!!!!!!!

ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 After a quick check of my ethics....................................TOO BLOODY RIGHT I'D BE iNTERESTED!!!! Rat up a drainpipe springs to mind!!!
WUZ Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Carl - weathers looking bad for Xmas out there, could be backlogged flights, low hours left on the pilots, ice on the blades...........the usual excuses. Don't plan to much eh! Russell (NOT Drilling on the GALAXY III this Xmas.......WOO HOO)

evojkp Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Safe flight mate. That's one thing I don't miss about offshore. Transfered onshore so I can be home at the festive times, and guess what happens. 12hour dayshift, Xmas Eve, Day and Boxing day......bollox!!
Carl Davey Posted December 19, 2004 Author Posted December 19, 2004 It's never guaranteed but four days would be very unlucky. Flight in tomorrow @ 5/6pm which will give an indication of whether ours will fly Tuesday midday. Also due a visit from the Maersk Fighter tomorrow which will give an indication of the sea-state. Nice and easy with Bond now as they're only contracted to BP installations and as far as i'm aware there are little/no overdue flights. Most worrying thing atm is the weather in Aberdeen.
moto Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Good on you Carl, Have a nice one you lucky git! Xmas and New Year off can't be bad. I came out here on the 16th, so home for New Year weather permitting. Looks like Kaliber Xmas for me on night shift. Alan Total Elgin/Franklin

zeolite Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 On the Brae A and will be home on the 29th courtesy of Bristows. I hope! Can't say I miss xmas at all. Bring on New Year!
Carl Davey Posted December 24, 2004 Author Posted December 24, 2004 Close to my bit then Ian. Watched the Bravo go up a treat last Monday when they S/D. Had reports of it being on fire as from where we are their flare is obscured. Might want to ask someone to remind the Bristows pilot to land on the correct platform this time.
zeolite Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 Carl...Heard about that one when I got here. Think the 100m long flare boom might have been a giveaway. Are you on the Sleepy Hollow aka Miller?
WUZ Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Now, now boys I know you fixed-installation boys think you are the Dogs Danglies but.......YOU LOT DON'T HALF GET BITCHY!!!!!!!!! Russell
Carl Davey Posted December 26, 2004 Author Posted December 26, 2004 Aye '13Mbd' Miller is my home until 2Q 2005 when i'm shipped to Bruce. Is the Alpha drilling atm then Ian?
zeolite Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Carl...we are drilling, then twisting off, then drilling etc I am not a fixed platform type though. North Sea gypsy type is wot I am.
Highlander68000 Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I hope you didn't eat too much! My first Christmas at home in 6 years! No more doing silly jobs on Christmas day, and having to avoid WUZ by hiding on top of cement units and all that. I miss listening to everybody else whinging though Be careful those of you who are unfortunate enough to be out there still. Jon
WUZ Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 AHA! - so that is where you kept hiding.........NICE Russell
