Jane popped in earlier and said that the young lad's mum was 100% keen and (I keep using this word) overwhelmed by the thought and is 100% up for it. Not a word will be uttered to the young Jedi until the day so he gets the full effect. I was just a little out on the age thing though and I stand corrected that he is 7 or 8 rather than 10. Mum will be contacting Stu, if she hasn't already and the pair can liaise away. Regardless of the outcome I'll be heading down from Uffculme/Cullompton rather than one big run down from Oxford so I guess the services just off the M5 would be as good a starting point or a convoy as any! I am coming from Paignton so probs Exeter services are better for me. i will be up for the convoy down, exeter services sounds good all tho i will be going back on my self a bit lol unless we can decide on the best place for every one to convoy down too Edited June 29, 2011 by j wrx tonkins Link to comment

I will be posting up meet points, convoy times and some more specific info this evening but having spoken to the parents last night the above time/date is when they're expecting us. It's a residential address we'll be arriving at so I'm looking at somewhere can can meet/regroup locally before we drive down to the house. Link to comment

Depending on how many cars do we need to inform local plods along the route so they know what we are doing and do not get lively with us? I'm speaking to the Committee about the club sourcing some window stickers for those attending I'm be a bit optomistic but I'll be putting an absolute max of 30 cars so I'll get a list together with all the details anyone's likely to need this evening when I get home from work... ...then we can all go hell for leather spreading the word and getting this convoy together eh! Local TV and newspapers have been contacted by the parents directly and are keen by all accounts so I'm assuming they'll be at the family's home for our arrival. There was even talk of contacts at the guardian but I've a vague recollection of there being a local paper of the same name? The local police have agreed in principle but I'll be needing to give them confirmed numbers - have said an absolute max of 30 cars Link to comment

The convoy meet times are as below and yes, they're generous but I would rather that than anyone having to nail it to catch up Convoy Times/Locations Exeter Service Station Exeter EX2 7HF Leave 08:00am Sourton Cross Service Station Sourton, Okehampton, Devon EX20 4LY Arrive 08:30 Leave 08:40am Layby A30 Liftondown Launceston Arrive 09:05am Leave 09:15am Mid Cornwall Service Area (Bodmin) Cornwall PL26 8 Arrive 09:30am Leave 09:45am Morrisons Store, Treloggan Road (Newquay) Colan, Cornwall TR7 2 Arrive 10:00am Leave 10:15am Itinerary within Newquay We will be leaving Morrisons in Newquay at 10:15am to arrive at Jake's house for 10:30am. At this point we'll surprise him, give him his goodies and take opportunity to grab some pics (please be mindful when taking photos as a vulnerable child will be the main focus). At 11:00am we will proceed into Newquay, along the route above with Jake +1 (family member) in the lead car. This will take around 1/2hr but will depend upon traffic.
