bigbev Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Hey all, just joined the Forum after convincing my mate to sell his old Impreza to me seeing as he has a newer one. Seems like a pretty standard car however after driving company diesels all my life i'm mighty impressed with the Subaru..... I'm sure you will all tell me what is " different " about the car by looking at the pics however this is my first Subaru so go easy...... I've been reading good things about AWD Engineering and seeing as I live in perth i'm thinking of taking the car down for an honest opinion..
the squiggle Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Welcome to the club Damn fine car you got there Double moistness down below when i see those uber rare seats. If i had 3 thumbs i would be sticking them all up
the squiggle Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Its a rare model that cost a fortune when new Fettled by Prodrive suspension wise, ECU wise and interior wise The thing on top of the dash is called a S.E.C.S unit, it displays the engine monitoring data in real time I love those seats, if they ever come up for sale...........Hello
RS Grant Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I thought the top unit was some sort of funky Subaru Sat-Nav... but the WR Sport was the most expensive Impreza Turbo 2000 you could buy at the time, massive fan of the spec, the seats spoil it though....... because you're new, I'll offer to swap them with my leather STi front seats. No? Worth a try I suppose... Welcome to the Forum.. the Tayside Group meet is listed under events section, so pop along if you fancy it. Cheers, Grant
RS Grant Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) ....Oops, double post.... Edited March 1, 2008 by RS Grant
rallyfever Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Welcome to the greatest club in the world bud. I agree with all the above, if that's your first step on the Scooby ladder - you made a massive 1st step. Great car and great spec. Cheers Gary (Rallyfever)
ur.a.bus Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 drool.....i want those seats just like everyone else judging by the comments. really nice car you got there
ur.a.bus Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 The thing on top of the dash is called a S.E.C.S unit, it displays the engine monitoring data in real time is the thing on the dash not the crappy compass thing thats a optional extra on forrester? it look exactly like the same thing i got in my car, if it is and you want instructions for it give me a shout as i found them after weeks of searching the net. there is nothing at all in impreza manual that relates to it
bigbev Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 is the thing on the dash not the crappy compass thing thats a optional extra on forrester?it look exactly like the same thing i got in my car, if it is and you want instructions for it give me a shout as i found them after weeks of searching the net. there is nothing at all in impreza manual that relates to it Yeah your right it is a crappy compass. It kinda looks like it's supposed to be there though and I want to keep the actual dash mount part and maybe find some gauges that fit inside the unit. Either that or try to find a proper SPEC's unit.....would that plug in to the ECU?? And believe it or not the car came with the original instructions. As for the seats then I think I may be keeping them judging by the reactions...... maybe pop by next time for the Tayside meets....
dipsy Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Welcome like Urabus says that a compass on top the dash not a secs monitor and yes secs plugs in just below steering wheel.I wa going to buy a secs monitor for my car the price put me off Edited March 1, 2008 by Dipsy
thewelsho Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Nice looking car mate and judging by people's reactions, looks like you got your self a sought-after example (I don't know anything about Classics or the New ones either , really), nice one. Welcome along and happy motoring! J Edited March 1, 2008 by TheWelsho
