About scoobrob

  1. Yes mate I have read a good few of his other books and loved all the clever little links to different books throughout the dark tower series. Have to admit I was really gutted when I finished the last book, but always best to be left wanting more I guess. Epic series of books.
  2. Yeah saw that. How Gutted?
  3. Very funny thread LMAO Emoe, Stephen King fan I see Dark Tower series are great books
  4. Pretty sure King Arthurs sword is said to be in the lake at Loe Bar in Cornwall. Stunning place Loe Bar if anyone is ever down this way (Cornwall)
  5. Sorry to be really boring but...... SOOBYWORLD yep I'm afraid I'm with everyone else. I ordered my Afterburner Vortex and center pipe from SW for my Classic sti. Two days later it was fitted and WOW what an upgrade from the standard one. Massive sound and visual modification. I think it is quoted as giving extra 20-30bhp but not too sure that I can notice anything. However the noise makes it seem faster As an alternative try TSL motorsport they seem to be well thought of and its something a little different to most peoples choice. I think you would get similar noise to the Ninja2. The Vortex is plenty loud enough for me as I do tend to be out quite late driving sometimes and I don't want to be too offensive on the road. The Nur Spec R is VERY VERY LOUD Which is more than fine if you go for it but could cause problems with neighbors etc. Nur Spec R is also a lot more money. That said if its not out of your price range and you want to stand out more than anyone else on the road I guess the ultimate is the Nur Spec R Full Decat Club. There are many choices out there so just take some time and go with what you can afford. Cheers, Rob PS. Fitting back box and center pipe is very straight forward to do yourself. Never done manifold on a scooby though???
  6. Have just had discs and pads front and rear from Ian at Godspeed also. GREAT Service, GREAT Products, Great Price
  7. Bought mine from nengun, best price by far but waited nearly 7 weeks for it to turn up. Worth the wait for the saving in my opinion but depends on how soon you need/want it.
  8. Think I wasnt very clear.... it has done just under 60K miles it is just the first service since I have owned it Not saying I aint a hooligan though
  9. Sorry mate car is at garage at the mo so no pics but I have very recently fitted angled exit afterburner back box with centre pipe to my classic sti. It is a nice looking tail pipe and I think the angled exit looks good, only my opinion though. The sound is amazing, my wife can hear me coming from acros the valley when I'm driving home . Fairly simple to fit too, would have been even better had I had use of a pit or ramp. What you fitting it to? Cheers, Rob
  10. Yeah he said he will fit them, think he is just worried that I will get the wrong parts for my car. I have had a good chat with chap at godspeed and he says they supply more scoobie parts than anything else. He was confident that the parts were fine so I think it was the way to go. Less money and better performing parts.....should be good fingers crossed
  11. Just thought I would add that I have been told pads and discs need replacing. price for the pads were very expensive for standard parts (£97 for front pads ) ........So spoke to God speed brakes and they were really helpful. For less than the price of direct replacement parts I have ordered a set of grooved discs and kevlar pads. Now all I have to do is convince my mechanic that there are options other than standard He is a little reluctant to wonder from the path he is used to, doesn't like aftermarket products much.
  12. Hey all, Just dropped my scooby in for 6000 mile service for first time since I have had it. The guy doing the work says Subaru recommend semi synthetic oil not fully synthetic for the engine. Does any one know if this is correct as I thought it was fully synth all the way. All help appreciated as I can still call him to ask for fully synth. Cheers Rob ps also if I have to have new discs and pads is it cheapest to use standard parts or should I go for aftermarket products?
  13. Car looks fantastic Craigy, pink graphics and all Takes a brave man to drive around in a pink stickered car I LOVE IT soooo individual
  14. Cheers for the responses guys I dont think its clutch related as it seems to be the same clutch in or out. I will look in to the heat shield idea mate as I certainly cant rule it out. Car going in for service in a week or so anyway so may leave it to the experts to sort out.
  15. Don't think so...... had a mate stand in front with bonnet up as i reved car to 3500 ish which is where noise is at its most noticeable and he couldn't really pin point it so hard to tell. sounds more like something to do with the air flow system/air intake area. Damn that lovely burble from afterburner vortex the only time I will wish it were quieter
