Plasma Or Lcd

Recommended Posts

Depends on what you are watching really! Avoid cheap models of either!

Pro's for Plasma - Larger screen sizes, faster display (good for sports and action films etc.), darker blacks.

Pro's for LCD - Cheaper, lower power consumption, more defined pixels give a sharper looking picture.

Or... wait a couple of years until Organic LED (O-LED) displays make it to production and you can forget either of them :P

plasma

plasma for me, ive got the above and done lots of asking beforehand, go to a few electrical stores and get a few opinions before buying at that size you will be looking at a proper HDTV not an HD ready

also try avforums good for lots of advice

if you are goin to watch a lot of sport on it has to be the plasma unless you like watchin footy played with a square ball on a LCD

good luck

I work for a company that import LCD and Plasma technology from the Far East. Plasma is better for sport as it has already been said as the refresh rate is much faster than an LCD. For example if watching footie and the camera shot is panning fast the grass will blur on an LCD. That said, the image for slower images on an LCD is much superior and it will last longer. Plasma will be past it's "best before" date in three years.
