kip
Go for the LCD as they are better then plasma and you will get a better picture too, much crisper also the LCD will out last the plasma Edited February 13, 2008 by kip Link to comment
Bailey73
Plasma screens have a shorter life than LCD and the picture quality isn't so good. Go for LCD imo. Link to comment
andrew_moffat
Plasmas are better for sport but generally LCD's are the shizzle for everything. Link to comment
granby
It's 50 / 50 really, some LCD's are crap and some plasmas are crap, the only real way is to go into a shop and not worry if it's LCD or plasma but go by picture quality, if possible take a dvd along and have it played on each tv you like Link to comment
bmwhere?
Depends on what you are watching really! Avoid cheap models of either! Pro's for Plasma - Larger screen sizes, faster display (good for sports and action films etc.), darker blacks. Pro's for LCD - Cheaper, lower power consumption, more defined pixels give a sharper looking picture. Or... wait a couple of years until Organic LED (O-LED) displays make it to production and you can forget either of them Link to comment
Robbie09
thanks for the replys is there any certain model that i should be looking at ?? Link to comment
bmwhere?
If you're considering Plasma, have a look here http://www.plasma.com/classroom/whomakesplasma.htm There are not many companies that actually make the displays, most are just re-packaging displays from other manufacturers. So displays from OEM manufacturers are often cheaper for the same quality display! For plasma, I'd recommend Panasonic. For LCD, I'd probably go for Sony! Link to comment

bmwhere?
steer clear of Plasmas, go for LCD Are you going to qualify that statement? Or is that just because YOU chose an LCD??? Both have + and - points! Depends what you want from your TV! Link to comment

Sam B
I work for a company that import LCD and Plasma technology from the Far East. Plasma is better for sport as it has already been said as the refresh rate is much faster than an LCD. For example if watching footie and the camera shot is panning fast the grass will blur on an LCD. That said, the image for slower images on an LCD is much superior and it will last longer. Plasma will be past it's "best before" date in three years. Link to comment
