thewelsho Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Just back from my visit to see AndyF. Cannot belive the transformation, its like driving a new car. Mid range acceleration is unreal, it just pulls and pulls and pulls and pulls! The VF34 certainly packs a punch, I can even hear the standard dump valve blowing off (or does it recirc?)! Hehe! Lots of smiles; nice to meet you Frank! Figures are as follows: Just under 340 BHP and 380 - 390 Lbft of lovely torquey stuff - Fantastic! A wee graph:
the squiggle Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Sweet result Thats a lot of torque mate. Need to be careful in the wet until you get used to the new profile of the turbo
scouk Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 That's ridiculous!!! What changes were made to the car to get those results?
ScoobySounds Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 how did you get a print out of the graph? Andy couldn't give me that when I went. maybe i'm wrong.

andrew_forrest Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I have a new printer now that will actually talk to my laptop ! The figures are at the flywheel, not at the wheels as it states on the graph. The Red and Green runs were done in opposite directions on the same section of road in order to negate the effects of wind. The average of the two tends to be close to Dastek RR figures. The spikes in the graph are due to the way the ECU outputs the data, its slightly irregular as its priority is controlling the engine, not giving out data. The peak at the end of the red graph is where the rpm blipped during the gearshift and should be ignored. Every time I map one of these new 2.5 WRX's I have to say I think they are the performance bargain of the century ! £13995 then spend a further £2k on a turbo upgrade/sports cat/remap and brake pads. £16k for this sort of performance in a brand new car Andy
nanaki Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I'm guessing multiple runs to confirm one wasn't a fluke? Nice results there.
craigwrx Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Nice one mate ..looking forward to my visit ..

Your pearly whites were blinding me in my rear view mirror.. lol Nice to meet up John, sorry i couldn't stay to blether longer. I was at work and in a wee bit of a hurry. Cracking results with 2.5 buddy. If Andy is impressed then you must be like a dog with two *****. All this talk about 2.5's is no good lads, just makes you want more torque.....hmmmmm Edited September 11, 2007 by Frank C
mrbadger Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 (edited) I'm really pleased you made the jump and went to see Andy. You see what we were all talking about now? He is a wizard and we are not worthy! Well chosen parts mate and giving fantastic results. Surprised you posted already, as I thought you would be out spending V-power tokens. Enjoy it mate, but you'll have to watch ur speed now as it will quickly get to crazy levels. Any chance of a passenger ride sometime? Well done again. Edited September 11, 2007 by MrBadger
thewelsho Posted September 11, 2007 Author Posted September 11, 2007 Oh! thanks for all the comments, I feel kinda special! LOL! Dunc welcome to a pax anytime. Parts used: VF34 Turbo (Jimser's old one), HKS decat uppipe (also Jimsers), Sports cat downpipe (Meercat) and re-map (AndyF - who else?!). I need to adjust to the new power. On the way home I pulled out to pass a car on a back road, hit the gas and had some wheel spin! Had to back off and use the power more progressively. Also, getting shot of the Khumos in favour of some nice new Eagle F1s would help and must be priority. Hmmm, how do I get the missus to part with another £450.... Thanks again!

Slower in, faster out... I'll try! See you there!
