  1. LOL no ABS in this weather makes for a spirited drive indeed, just keep a clean pair of breeks and keks and you'll be just fine
  2. Aye congrats on the new position, looking forward to a bigger club Cheers, Col
  3. Well done on the recognition for your sterling work, long may it continue
  4. Still got the scooob? are you looking to get a classic instead Hmm, light smoke, it's gotta be limo black old boy
  5. Drove to work today, the coldest day so far at -5 all the way to Swindon, the car drove like a rocket with the exhaust being abnormally loud Seems like free power all for the price of defrosting your car... Anyone else noticed performance pick due to the less warm weather? Cheers, Col
  6. Hi Matty, thanks yeah they work pretty, they reduce the sun glare a helluva lot but also mean you can still see everything, unlike the visors that block you view totally. Glen did a pretty good job, was very quick to to the work and did't charge the earth. I'll probably get him to re pimp my windows when they start to crack and fade, which they are doing so now...
  7. Hi Guys, I had the wife's Fossie done a while back and had her 5 rear windows pimped with Limo black film, and UV filtering on her driver and passenger windows. This was done by Glen at AutoAsylum in Swindon, half a mile from work too . Whilst I was there I asked about the legality of the sunstrips put on cars as I knew that some were MOT failures. Glen has been working with an MOT tester next door to him in the same estate and the strips he puts on are totally legit as they are the same type put on the rear windows, I was sold and had some fitted last week. It took just over an hour or so, and by the time i had been given a lift back to work and grabbed a cuppa it was time to go pick up the car. The strip cost £40 in total inc fitting. The film is very dark to look at from outside but still lets in enough light to let you see whats happening outside and means you can stare at the sun (through the strip) and not have to squint at all, brilliant. Anyhoo a few photos below: http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc390/vimmeh/Shades%20for%20the%20car/?albumview=slideshow Glen can be contacted on 07770901020 Cheers, Col Be warned the photos contained in the (hopefully working) slideshow are not safe to view in work as they contain images of mucky sorts - cars not been cleaned for 2 weeks now
  8. Never mind the bug, when are they going to bring back the classic, it would make mine look brand new again
  9. Hi Andy, thanks for the info old bean by the other forum, does it have a 'scoob' and 'net' in its name somewhere Out of sense of curiousity and 'cos I'm a nosy bastage I'll wander over 'there' and take a wee peek around and see if I can find Iain's writings. Cheers, Col
  10. With the issue of the rebuild aside, are there any issues with the rolling road at all? Do they use fans direct onto the intercooler for cooling purposes or in front of the car simulating normal road conditions? Has anyone had an RR session done there previously? Cheers, Col
  11. Aww Matty, take no notice of him, its not that ugly Is this the Datsun in question
  12. Happy days Stu, back on the road real soon
  13. Nice one Myles, bargains are always good matey, no need to stop What work is involved in changing them to HIDS and is it costly?
  14. Blimey isn't it funny the fog descends at that early an hour, it's a funny time to be up to test the lights tho' , it just shows the commitment scooby drivers make to ensure things work
  15. At least it's japanese you could have a ford
  16. I went for covers as I never used the fog lights, even in the limited times I did, they didnt do very much apart from p*** other oncoming drivers off I eventually cut holes in my covers for a cold air feed and never looked back either
  17. Holy crap Stu, that sounds bloody scary mate, has to be the mother of all nightmares...glad you are ok and that the car is fixable too make sure, as Myles says, that all the damage is noted and the reason for it. Fingers crossed Hannah is back on the road very soon and back in her always tiptop condition
  18. Yeah Ive given up on the 911 route for the minute, at least til my lad leaves home and we no longer have a wee dog, no room in a 2+2 for 3 6ft tall people and a fluffy dog lol. Not only that but I am so impressed with my car and that at 212,000 miles it pulls like its (almost) new and with the AWD and usable power, I couln't affored a 911 to match it for performance and drivability. I've had the car for 5 years now, all my previous ones have been 'disposable' ie buy 'em for a grand and chuck it a year later, before it breaks or blows up on me I couldn't veer away from a flat4 now, it's in my blood now, as is the Vpower - too much of the fume breathing at the pumps If I had to choose another I wouldnt know what to do, there isnt much out there to match these cars, apart from Evo's and even then I'd buy an evo5/6, the new ones are pants
  19. Oh yeah indeed lots of car for a lot less money than of late, sure you dont want a 993/964 or Carrera instead, old school air cooled is the way to go
  20. I've just had my renewal come through for my car with Keith Michaels, cost me £482, but I need to redo it and get me SIDC discount from it, still not a bad price for the slightly modified car. That price was just for me, with the wife as a named driver, me aged thirty twelve and doing around 8k a year. Before long the insurance is going to cost more than the car I wonder if it's time to get something else...
  21. Nice car that Matty, you sure you don't fancy one of these instead, I'd have it if i had the cash, timeless classic A mate of mine in work bought one of these this weekend, every time he gets in it and hits the throttle he has a sex wee
  22. Ah a hybrid, nice beige lol, sounds like fun mate
  23. Was the the silence due to lack of power
  24. Oh - so it's not a proper classic then
  25. I was thinking about getting a Lexus as a daily car, but I think they are quite common, lots of Lexus's about, or is it Lexi
