THE BEST/WORST/FUNNY EXPERIENCE IN YOUR SCOOB
ally-b replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Best - The November Highland run/photoshoot . The Richard Burns LE/JOG Relay Knockhill trackdays Knockhill D1 drift day Glasgow meet evening runs. Worst - Rsole doing an unannounced u-turn , writing-off my '99 wagon - he got done with dangerous driving . Suicidal bambi jumping out in front of me in the fog just before Christmas - Santa was left a man down that year Funniest - The 'driving gloves' thread (Sorry st3ph3n ! ) The photoshopped pics from the November run (featuring Winston etc) Al. -
Glad to hear you are sorted again inspector [] Like your new brakes too . . . wooooo [] What is 'neo' ? [*-)] Al.

Nice pics Imy . [Y] Thanks go to Grant for helping out with the route , and leading the run tonight . I didn't know if I'd manage till the last minute and Grant offered to provide 'plan B' if I was too busy at work to get anything planned ... Cheers mate [] I had suggested that tonights run would be the last evening-run till spring (due to early nights and dodgy weather ) but a few members said that they would like the runs on meet nights to continue . So what do you all think ? 1/ No evening runs on meet nights till spring . 2/ Run every meet - regardless . 3/ Arrive with a full tank on meet nights (just-in-case) , and have a vote on the night to decide whether we'll brave the elephants or retire to the bar/restaurant Discuss [^o)] Al.

What were the best results and who were the prize-winners ? Al.

We will meet as-per at the Brewers Fayre Hillington @ 7 for 7:30 KO Please P.M. or email suggestions ASAP please .[] Cheers , Al.

My first name is Alastair , 'Ally' was taken , so I went to 'plan b [] - BTW lots of folk are surprised when they find out that my surname doesn't begin with 'B' [] Al.

Glasgow area members drive like that to get to our runs [] Those guys just wouldn't cut-the-mustard once we hit the bendy-bits [] Next one is 7th Sept (last evening-run of the season []- but it'll be a good-un []) be there or be oblong . . . Al.

Davie , You are one of the privilaged few to have seen under my jalopys bunnet [] 99 and 00 do have fragile MAF , but vibration and oil contamination are the killers - make sure filter is not over-oiled and is well supported and it should be OK ( I do keep a spare MAF though ... just in case [:$]) Mine has APS CAK C/W K&N , MY'00 BTW - no MAF probs (phew thats enough abbreviations for one night [] ) BUT , Andy-F could not stress enough that adjustment to map was required if running the intake I have , due to the swirl effect of the pipe bends before the MAF . Without re-map , this causes the sensor to seriously under-read the airflow , which in turn will cause very lean mixture . . . . Al.

Congratulations Jon [Y] Al.

Cracking videos Squiggle , and nice pics too . Another great turnout and a good run , as I said before we went , it was 'a wee bit bouncy' . . . sorry to everyone who bumped their heads on the roof of their cars [:$] next run will require a pilots licence , if there is anymore flying .[] Glad the route was appreciated [] Thanks to all who turned out and made it another good meet/run. Thanks to the 'new' guys - hope you enjoyed it and will come along to future meets . Thanks to Strathclydes finest - for not stopping and saying 'ello ello ello' when we stopped to re-group at the picnic area looking onto the top-secret military instalation [] And most of all thanks for the support you are all giving myself as RO of the Glasgow Area of SIDC . The bad news is that next months meet (September 7th) will probably be the last evening run of the season [] I have a couple of ideas for the route/destination , but if anyone has any suggestions of where they would like to go , please let me know . Cheers , Al.
