  4. You see , if you'd come to the Glasgow meet/run you'd never have been charged with dangerous/careless driving . . . . 'Pure-mad-mentol weegie-meet' driving ...maybe ... but that is not recognised as an offence [] . . . . unless they catch you that is [] Hope P.F. is good to you John ... ATB, Al.
  5. Fuxache St3ph3n , Don't tell everyone . . . . [] I still get a buzz when I'm asked , after a 'spirited-drive'. . . 'OK , whats in there ? ' [][][] [6] Al. PS, '£400 exchange with 12 months warranty '. . . I don't think you'll get any warranty/guarantee with an old , 2nd hand turbo from ebay .

  8. Glasgow meet this Thursday ... Agenda. There are a few new members who will be turning up to their first meet on Thursday . After introductions and a blether we'll go on a wee run - roughly 1/2 hr (not a race !) The run is to a country pub where we can sit down , have a chat , and hopefully plan out this years Santa Cruise . When Santa Cruise was last discussed at a Glasgow meet , there were some great ideas brought up (coincidently in the same hostelry that we'll be going to on Thursday). It is now time that we try to put some of these ideas into action , and make it happen . As well as the new members , I hope some that of the 'older hands' can come along too and share their knowledge and experience to help make this years Santa Cruise as successful as previous years have been . If you can't make the start of the meet/run but could manage to come along later to help with the Santa Cruise plans , please send me a PM and I'll give you the location . Thanks [Y] Al. 17. I've been looking to buy a motorcycle again as I now have somewhere to keep one - I had to give them up when I moved to my flat . My question is : a couple of bikes I've seen have had no tax as they have been stored for a couple of years . How does it work with SORN ? is it just a case of getting new tax at the P.O. once the reg doc (V5) is changed to my name ? or is it more complicated ? What if SORN was not done when the tax last ran out ? [*-)]Al.
  18. Hi , and welcome [] Keep an eye on the 'events' section . Most areas (regions) hold a monthly meet . Glasgow meet is normally on the first Thursday of the month . The next Glasgow meet will be on the 5th October @ Brewers fayre Hillington. Hope you can make it . Al.
  19. Womans dishwasher stopped working so she called an electrician. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the electrician, "I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll send you a cheque . " "Oh, by the way don't worry about my bulldog Spike. He won't bother you. But,whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot!" "I REPEAT, DO NOT TALK TO MY PARROT!!!" When the electrician arrived at the woman's flat the following day, he found the biggest, meanest looking bulldog he has ever seen! But, just as she had said, the dog just lay quietly on the carpet watching him go about his work. The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing and name calling. Finally he couldn't stand it any longer and yelled at the parrot:- "Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!" To which the parrot replied, "Get him, Spike!" Some people just don't listen !!![] <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  20. Sorry , I forgot about the cat in the uppipe [:$] . . . . I've one of those old classics you see [] If you are sticking with the standard airbox (which is fine for up to 350ish bhp), then the Green Cotton panel filter is the one to go for . I'd recommend it as the first mod for anyone with a standard scoob. First issue of the (now defunct) Scoobymagazine tested a selection of panel filters and the Green Cotton came out tops . Al.
  21. Change your standard airfilter for a Green cotton one - costs c£40 , 5 minute job to fit . Available from : http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/ . Get a turbo-back decat exhaust system - either buy it in bits , ie downpipe , centre pipe and backbox or get one custom built by http://www.stainlessexhausts.com/ in Hillington or http://www.meercat-exhausts.com/home.htm in Kilbirnie . Then get it remapped by http://andyforrestperformance.co.uk/index2.html in Port Seton . This will be as good as , if not better than any of the 'stage 1' packages . It will save you a few quid and all the companys are within easy reach of your home . Hope that is of some help . Al.
  22. TTT for the 'Inspector' Al.
  23. Welcome aboard [] I touch goats lol [] Al.
  24. I'll be going along on Saturday too [] Keep us a table Peter - looks like a big turnout at this weeks '(other) S.I.D.C.'* meet . Make sure your fridges are well stocked-up too Peter . Some of the guys might be wanting to try some of your famous tuning mods. . . . Banana fritter in the tailpipe = +5bhp Cheesecake brakepads = -8sec/lap at Knockhill Spicey chicken = quicker spool-up , more grunt low-down. Etc [] See you all there , Al. * Subaru Impreza Diners Club
