  1. Planning to go at the end of July with a group of about 6 or 7 other cars... [H] Cheers, Grant
  2. Coulster drives a Royal Silver MY99 and has absolutely no idea what Wuz is on about (which I think he's said in an e-mail directly to him).. He's not been able to log on here to say it himself but text me to ask if I'd put it down on the forum that he never ordered these parts (Defi Gauges and Tyres) as he's already got both on his car. Coulty that I was talking about is the guy that ANDYJDMSTi mentioned with the V2 STi... Cheers, Grant
  3. Cheapest place for a 99-00 Front Bumper needed... [] Cheers, Grant
  4. If its more of a weekend toy that you're wanting, I'd buy the lighter and more agile Classic.... If you shop around wisely, 2k will buy you an awful lot of mods that will result in a quicker car than your STi PPP. [H] Cheers, Grant
  5. Coulty is the member thats just started offshore, not Coulster. [] I'd expect that there is a good reason for Scott being out of the loop at present, he's not the kind of guy to p!ss people about Wuz. Cheers, Grant
  6. Miles better than the set-up on here.... and I dont mind admitting that I use that site more than this one partly due to the forum layout and partly due to the fact that they have over 65,500 members, so any questions and requests are answered pretty quickly which appeals to a "want it done yesterday" kind of guy like me. [] Cheers, Grant
  7. I'll have a punt too..... [] 452bhp & 420lb/ft If I lose, which is a very real possibility, can I have a wee Pax Run at the Fife Meet?? lol Cheers, Grant
  8. I always thought that the UK Classics were front biased... Cheers, Grant
  9. You'll never ever get what you think your car might be worth... unfortunately, even the top of the line mods that you've put on the car dont increase the value dramatically. If you have the facilities and are able to replace with standard parts, then you'll make way more by stripping some of the more desireable modifications off, like Brakes, Wheels, Sti Lights, Spoiler etc... Depending on age & condition, I'd expect you to make a couple of grand from them. If I was looking for an Impreza then the mileage of your car would put me off as there isnt a rebuild in the file and its been modified for a while I assume?? Plus, people tend to buy AP brakes when they like to give the car a bit of stick so that'd be something else that might raise a few questions about the type of use that the car has had to require such a large braking upgrade. I would say that without Brakes, Wheels, STi Lights and Spoiler your car will realistically go for about 4250-4500 if advertised properly and its in good condition. With the car the way it is at the moment, I would say that you'd maybe realistically get 5500 tops. Cheers, Grant
  10. Thanks Mark, I'll have a wee look on there in a bit.. [] Col, yea, another one mate... Picked up a MY99 Wagon in White, totally standard with 29k miles on it... As a runaround for me, the dog and for my old dear in the snow/icey weather when her BM doesnt make it out of the street without the rear trying to overtake the front at every opportunity. [^o)] Russ, think I'll give you a bell tomorrow.. Would like it looked over and assessed to make sure that everything is tip top with the car. [H] Cheers, Grant
  11. Ok, picked up the new wagon on Friday and one of the wee jobs that its needing done is some new Rear Discs & Pads. Was just wondering can you run uprated rear brakes with the standard fronts, cause the front brakes seem to be in reasonable condition. Is there any point in fitting uprated rear discs and pads?? The car will be subjected to fast-road stuff at most, there wont be any track days in it... So if I can get away with fitting pattern discs and subaru pads then i'll probably do that......... what do people on here recommend?? Is there a massive price difference between standard set-up and a decent fast road set-up?? [] The car is a MY99 UK Turbo 5dr. Cheers, Grant
  12. ....arguably more fragile though. With the money you save from buying a UK rather than an STi, you can buy some decent mods and have a well mapped, un-stressed, 300/300 with good gear ratios and reliably checked by (I assume) Mr F through in Port Seaton. Cheers, Grant
  13. Hahaha, thanks mate... I've just fallen off the wagon... I'll give you a GT4, RS2000 and a lovely Rover GTi for that. [] Cheers, Grant
  14. Thanks Peter.. Hope to hear/see your car on the 1st Track Day this year mate, should be going like a missle. [H] Dougie, I'm away to send my 360 back, damn thing is freezing all the time and I'm getting red lights on the front of it.. damn nuisance!! [:@] Cheers, Grant
  15. LOL, this is true... I'm trying to beat my problem, I tend to stay out of the Cars for Sale sections now for fear of a relapse. [] Cheers, Grant
  16. I had the exact same idea when I saw that car for sale Dave.... I only lacked the mechanical facilities, storage space, enthusiasm, the short block, the mechanical knowledge, the spare cash and the time. But if I'd had those things, I'd have snapped this up!! [][] Will follow this with interest/envy.... I do like a good project thread!! [H] Cheers, Grant
  17. Shame that Eden are being that way, but to be honest, if you can arrange a courtesy car with Weir's in Perth then that might be the answer... Drop it off first thing in the morning/last thing at night with them and pick it up when finished, plus, you get a nice drive through from Glenrothes->Glenfarg way. [H] Worth a wee bit of extra effort to get things sorted out properly, sounds like very poor aftercare from Eden. [:^)] Cheers, Grant
  18. I'd guess that you've got a Newage STi then... [] There are mixed reviews of AWD Motorsport on here, some people are happy with the prices/service they get and others arent... What I would say is that they do know their way around an Impreza and to take your car there and make your own mind up. Cheers, Grant
  19. Yea, that was me Mark... Was great fun in the wet, got it a bit sideways a few times!! lol [] Will defo be back at the next one, the Track Day bug has bitten me hard!! [H] Cheers, Grant
  20. Thanks a lot for the welcome back guys, its not like I post much, but its always nice to know you can!! [] Scott, this'll be Impreza number 4 that I'm picking up.. 2nd Wagon and 2nd White one... I will get some pics when I pick the car up, stupidly only saved the one to my computer from the advert. Here it is: Cheers, Grant
  21. Hi guys, after a bit of a mess up with my password/account.. I'm back on here. Not totally convinced by the new layout, but thats been discussed at length so I'm gonna just work with it. [] There is some other good news too, I put a deposit down on another Scoob today, so all things going well... should have picked it up at the weekend. Its a MY99 Wagon, UK Turbo, White, Full Subaru History and an ultra-low 29,000 miles. [H] I'm still keeping my Celica GT4 which is great cause I'm enjoying that car loads, the only drawback is that the new Impreza will be used as a Family Car, something that the rest of the family can use to go to work in crappy conditions and to take the dog out in... however, that wont stop me, but any modifications are going to be done on the down/low. lol. [] Cheers, Grant
  22. Appreciate the comments guys... [] Frank, when the White Impreza was for sale, there was another Impreza for sale at the same time that I was wanting.. but pretty much at the same time as I'd done the deal on the White one with a guy from Arbroath I found out that the Scoob I wanted had been sold.... Pretty p/o'd at that, bugged me that I never gave the guy a deposit, but you live and learn. D'oh!! Was just innocently looking through the autotrader when I saw this car for sale, its a very very rare colour.. only ever seen one other Storm Grey ST205 on the GT4 Owners Club and used to love that car.. so just decided to buy this one when I went and found out how clean/standard/low mileage it was. [H] I'll defo be back in a Scoob at some point, have to wait and see when though. [] Cheers, Grant
  23. Haha, the response has been a fair bit better than I thought it would have been!! Had a kind of mixed response from friends/family and my old man even said 'they look like expensive steelies' to me when he saw them..... Haha, he just doesnt have a clue!! [] Iain, thats MEGA money mate... I was close to buying some white MO 6s when I had my old White GT4 so when I bought this one, there was only one set of wheels that I was gonna be fitting. The 3 week wait while they were made for me was agony, I'm the kind of guy that wants things yesterday, so waiting all that time after forking out for them was tough. lol [] Cheers, Grant
  24. Thanks a lot for the comments guys, I'm really happy with the look of it now.. [Y] LOL @ Stephen...... I had to wait until very late and even then I had to drive to level 5 or something ridiculous. [] Cheers, Grant
  25. ...after buying the car, I was desperate to change the wheels that were on there. They were 17" OZ F1 Cups, with what looks like a poor silver refurb a long time ago as they were rough, bubbled etc... [N] So, cause I wasnt going buy 2nd best, I went for some 18" Compomotives from Reyland Motorsport... and ordered some Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres to wrap them in. [] Here are a few pics: The black wheels are love or hate, so I'm not expecting totally positive feedback... I was going for the subtle look and think I've done that. [H] Cheers, Grant
