  1. Yea, the same idea popped into my head when I saw that username too Peter... lol [] Cheers, Grant
  2. Good to hear this mate... if I find myself in the area, I'll nip in for a chat and a wee nose around the place. [] Cheers, Grant
  3. If you are going to keep it for a wee while, I'd spunk my money on Whiteline/Handling mods and take any 'banter' to the Track/Back Roads and surprise some people with your N/A Impreza. [H] Cheers, Grant
  4. Looks like a DCCD Equipped Silver Bugeye Wagon... Absolutely no spin of the front wheels, while the rears are smoking up nicely. [H] Cheers, Grant
  5. This is providing that Mr Orkney gives enough of a flying fvck to trawl down to a R/R to put the car on the rollers... [] Cheers, Grant
  6. Lot of money in Aberdeen though, wouldnt be hard for someone with more money than sense buying a new-age and chavving the nuts off it... After all... Just think about HOW many WR Blue 01-onwards cars there are on the roads now!! (See September Run photo for proof) [] Ok, a few DBM Classics around, but at that time.. in the dark/streetlight.. after being hit by a car travelling at some pace.. I think most people would probably give a knee-jerk reaction that the car was Black. If it was a Sonic Blue, Classic Scoob with Stickers (WRC Job or just a Shopping List on the door) then it shouldnt be toooo hard to track down, IMO. Cheers, Grant

  8. Glad you've reached your target figure Peter... ok... we can round up and ignore the 0.4bhp!! lol [][] Now, time to get the car on Crail and improve your 1/4 mile time and terminal. [H] Cheers, Grant
  9. Not from the area, not been up in ages, but sounds like an Impreza that has been styled by a Boulie Basher... Hope they catch the driver and make him share a cell with a large gent called Leeroy that enjoys playing Mummys and Daddies with spineless Chavs. Cheers, Grant
  10. I'm not so sure that the parts used have to come through the Dealer Network?? Can they not phone Greers/another supplier and buy from them then!? When I was having my first Scoob rebuilt at Town&County, I got told that I could get an uprated clutch for them to fit, but that the warranty wouldnt cover my gearbox after that due to the non-standard clutch kit... I would phone your Dealer and ask for the phone number of Subaru UK... If they ask why, then explain that you were never told: there was no courtesy car, that they would use parts sourced by them only, those parts had to be Jap, etc... For what its worth, I think col666 found out that the rear hubs/wheel bearing on his V5 Type-R was different to a P1... Possibly due to the DCCD?? Cheers, Grant
  11. What about sourcing the parts yourself from a specialist supplier and get them to fit it all back up for you?? Cheers, Grant
  12. Welcome to the club Andy, glad to see you've registered... dont worry about the comments made, everyone's nice and helpful when you meet them. [H] My list of mods for the car I'd recommend (mostly cause its what I've still got sitting for it) were: - TD05 16g Turbo - FMIC & Pipework - SARD Fuel Pressure Regulator - Walboro Fuel Pump (Already Fitted BTW) - Heat Wrapped De-Cat Downpipe - Induction Kit (Apexi) - Was going to get the standard headers Ported & Polished - Standard 99/00 UK ECU to use for re-map (PPP ECU can be sold for around £350 so I'd recommend NOT re-mapping that) I was to be getting the car mapped for reliability and without putting stress on any of the parts I'd fitted or the drivetrain. Andy F told me that I'd see c320bhp and 300ft/lb easily. Which would keep the car reliable, very quick and responsive. Cheers, Grant
  13. IMO, if you're wanting over 330bhp... I'd take the hit and go for an STi as it comes with the stronger bottom end and drivetrain. Cheers, Grant
  14. Gumball, did your car not run c360bhp on WP Rollers shortly after that on the same spec though?? If I'm totally honest, I'm not sure about those figures, as I know a guy with an MR2 Turbo that ran the day after you and got 320bhp, then when he took it back at the same spec a month or so later on, he was only running c290bhp... he talked with Dastek and was told that the set-up was wrong and people had been getting quoted higher figures than they should have been. This isnt a dig, I just remember hearing that you didnt get close to 403bhp at a R/R Day up at WP. Cheers, Grant

  16. With around a grand spent, you have 330bhp in a Cosworth, you can pick one, 1987-1998, all the same... extremely simple to tune and once tuned, they are very quick. IMO. I know for a fact that you need a lot more wedge to get the same from a Scoob, although the Subaru will have slightly less transmission losses from its 4wd system than the Ford 4wd transmission has and a Classic Impreza is probably a bit lighter than any of the Cosworth bodystyles. I'd like to make clear at this point that I'm discussing the performance of Cosworths vs Imprezas and not concentrating on the potential downsides of Cosworth Ownership like rust, reliability, etc... [] Cheers, Grant
  17. Errrrrr... [][:|][] I hope everything is fine and you're moving onto bigger and better pastures mate!! Just like to say that I'm so grateful for all the help/advice and last minute help that you've given me to keep my cars on the road and saving me from paying through the nose elsewhere. Once again, best of luck with the future bud and if you need anything then you know I'm just a phonecall/PM/email away mate. [H] Cheers, Grant
  18. I take it you've not heard of any of the cars that come from the Reyland stable......... and depending what WRX you have, the Focus may well be faster than it. [] Cheers, Grant
  19. I actually dont mind the front/side looks... looking like a Leon Touring Car isnt a bad thing IMO!! [] The rear looks like a VERY poor potatochop. Cheers, Grant
