I did this to my newage and the STi wheel is thicker and slightly smaller in diameter, it was a doddle to fit, even the airbag was easy, only trouble I had was finding a nice one.

Would have to say go for it, but only if you're going to leave it pretty much standard as when you start mucking about with the special editions it can really affect their resale value.

When I had this problem I just replaced the whole lot with a tein coilover kit, it transformed the car, as others have said no point in putting another set of shocks on that will only last a couple of thousand miles.

Hard to believe that anyone survived that one.

That looks nasty, can only say that a similar thing happened to me, but in a BMW and at the vets, and I ended up paying for it myself as the vets simply did not care, parking at own risk etc, it was about £1000 as I needed a new bumper and fixings etc, but was less hassle than claiming, although I had protected no claims I'm sure thay would have put my premium up anyway.
