As far as I understand it: White Smoke = Water Blue/Grey Smoke = Oil Grey/Black Smoke = Fuel Do you get any smoke when you start/blip throttle from stone cold?? I would try and get someone to follow you on a clear and calm day on some dry roads. Give your car some yee ha and lift off and let the car run down the revs. The person following should be checking for smoke when you're accelerating and also, when you lift off there maybe some smoke on the over-run too. Cheers, Grant

Report :- Cal's trip to The Nurburgring - 56k chase yersel
RS Grant replied to ~ ~ Cal ~~'s topic in Scottish Scoobies
Thats an awesome write-up of your trip and it definitely makes me want to do it... there is talk of me and a few others heading over at the end of July. I'm well up for it after reading your report!! [H] Hope you dont mind me asking, but what sort of money did the trip cost you?? Just so we have got a slightly better idea about what we should really budget for.. we'd be going for the same length of stay as you did. [] Cheers, Grant -
Got a Hayward & Scott Angled Back Box and Non-Resonated Centre on my STi and it sounds very subtle at tickover and low revs/throttle.... but when opened up, it sounds really really good. Quality of the welds & materials are spot on too. [H] Cheers, Grant

Good lad JC... Some decent ground work been put in by you, next RO should try and build on that. [H] Cheers, Grant

Ah right, well if they were 'in on it' then happy days... [H] Cheers, Grant

Any ideas what times the RB320 was running at Crail the other weekend?? If your choice is still the same as it was at the start of the thread, between a UK STi or an RB320.. then I'd go for the RB320 all day long. If you are considering getting a Jap Import then I'd be tempted by the Spec C, but would probably still go for the RB320 purely down to the exclusivity of it and the fact that its very likely to hold its value better than a Jap Import IMO. Also heard that Weirs in Perth had an RB320 left, defo worth a shout to Mako (Russ). Cheers, Grant

Yep, it sounds right... in so many ways. [H] Cheers, Grant

Not sure about the tail out stuff with other cars being parked up... but some good pics and looked like an awesome day. [H] Cheers, Grant

Car looks great, WR Blue really glows in direct sunlight.. [H] *Thread Hi-Jack* Iain, you'll have PM in a few mins... [] Cheers, Grant

Yea, I worded it incorrectly... I'm aware the 35 isnt twin-scroll, but it looks like I wasnt. Haha!! [] Still hunting for info on the VF43, sent an e-mail to Mr F for further info/help too.. just waiting for a reply. [H] Cheers, Grant

Crazy transformation mate... [H] Cheers, Grant

Yea, but his turbo's been 'fiddled' with slightly.... I mean as standard without porting or funky fuel. [] Plus, as far as I've been able to gather, the 2.5 STi runs a Non-Twin Scroll VF43 turbo instead of the VF35.... But thats where my knowledge runs out as I've not been able to find out anything else about the VF43, spec, limits etc. Cheers, Grant
-
Does that not totally screw your warranty up mate!? Also, thought that the standard Turbo kinda ran out of ideas above 350bhp. Cheers, Grant
-
Aye, think you've just twisted my arm Peter.. lol.. wont be an immediate change, but it will happen. [] I've got a few ideas about how to change the exterior look.. and then a few obvious ideas about how to get a few more ponies out of the thing. [] Cheers, Grant

Hahaha, ok ok... didn't realise I was that transparent!! [] Cheers, Grant

Yea, my mate that was racing the other Spec-D (Melly-Doo on here) used to own the White ST205 and has just sold it to our mate... only mods are a cat-back exhaust and boost controller at 1.15bar. Going to be interesting when he puts a downpipe and hybrid turbo on the thing, he might force us into Andy F'ing the Spec-D's sooner than was initially planned!! [] Cheers, Grant
-
Aye, the Spec-D is not shy for a standard Newage that weighs as much as the moon. [] Not sure whos Black Classic that was, had a Scoobyclinic Sticker in the back windows, so it might well have been down south for some engine work/fettling..... certainly went well. [H] Unfortunate to hear that you were struck by Crail Face, but it happens to the best of us mate!! lol [] Cheers, Grant
-
Yep, I think this is you just away to race here... A 13.9 isn't bad at all for your first time on the 1/4 mile either. [H] Cheers, Grant
-
Yea, some really good pics there mate... [] Cheers, Grant

Yea, was good fun today... First time on the strip in a Newage Scoob and was pretty impressed that I managed a 13.2 @ 104mph considering the car is standard and only JUST run in. [] Steve, that was my mate in the White GT4, his PB today was 13.3 @ 103mph... which is not bad for a CAT-back exhaust and boost controller. [H] Cheers, Grant

Can meet in Fife to carry the baton if needs be... Whatever happens, I'm sure that the SIDC Postal Service will ensure safe delivery. [] Cheers, Grant
