No.Spoke to the boss,said they had been told by Shell to run the tanks down of the old Optimax ready for the new 100 RON 2nd week of July. The guy and woman who work there didn't know but the gaffer was pretty clued up.Said that it will be going up to 102p per litre but got to be worth it in the long run.

Since owning the car I've been very careful not to drive over 100mph (on private roads of course) for any length of time to avoid running lean coz of the crappy fuel we have. Now that im running the new 100 Ron Optimax plus octane booster is it mechanically safe to go above 100 mph for a longer period of time? Surely this combination is equal to the Jap fuel making it safe to run the car like its meant to be without fear of melting a piston !!?? Any ideas people ?

from what i've been told the Wagon ECU's can be different because of the difference in turbo (ones a TD04 the other a TD05).But thatks any mate.[]

Can anyone with a 94 WRX WAGON let me know the part number on their ECU please.My mate is having a absolute nightnmate with his Scoob and I reckon its down to the ECU.We know its been changed before he bought it and I think its either got a UK or WRX saloon ECU. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Many thanks in advance. Scotty

Had the SPEC camera's down the Ayrshire neck of the woods for some time.It has made the road a complete nitghmare as all the safe places to overtake have the camera's on them. The road is the main route for trucks to get to the ferry in Stranraer and as you'll know they can't go over 40 mph on single carraige-way which makes the traveling speed painfully slow. I now just stick to the back roads, buts its a killer if you have coilovers fitted.

Very nice mate.One thing i will say about owning a black motor is its an absolute nightmare to keep clean and all scratches and imperfections stand out a great deal more than on another colour of car.

Cheers mate, that would be terrific ! To make matters worse the warranty company say they don't cover it so no chance of getting one through them. Just hope I can have the car running 100% to enjoy it while the weathers good.Here's hoping .

Thats EXACTLY how I'm hoping it all turns out ! I love the way the car makes me smile to myself when i get the chance to put the foot down but its been some time now since ive had that feeling cause I just don't want to cain it when its not 100%.

Thats what I have been doing but seems every time I get a bit of cash to do a wee bit of playing with the motor it gets sucked up buy replacing a knackered part. [] Still I start my new job in August which should put some more pennies into the Fun jar.

Brain damage mate, the minute I found out the MAF was done I've driven it like a sunday driver. What will a Lamba sensor cost me and would that cause the miss n splutters ? I can see the motor going shortly for some thing else if it doesn't start behaving!

Just about had enough of owning a Scoob !Finally after waiting ages for the warranty to pay up for a MAF,I've fitted it reset the ECU and now have another fault code blinking.Code 32 Heated oxygen sensor (I take it thats the lambda sensor) [:@] This with the gearbox problems i had before has really taken a shine off owning a Scoob.Don't get me wrong Ive been around performance motors since ive been driving and know they can be a hassle at times but just how often its happening in a short period of time is doing my box in ! [:'(] I've waited and waited to finally give the motor a good run now the new MAF is fitted and it still misses and splutters when trying to give her a bit of a blast. To say I'm disappointed is an understatment.You do your best to maintain them to the best condition, using optimax,octane booster,decent leads,full service etc etc and all you get is what feels like a kick in the teeth !! Beginning to wonder if I should have gone for an EVO like the wife said.
