let me guess mate they said it was damaged and not parts failure?

If i'd bought the car up in Scotland i would have been in his face every day till he had sorted it but as it happens the garage is south yorkshire way so a lot of hassle to see the guy in person, and we all know how easy it is to be fobbed off over the phone.

After a recent personal incident with used car warranty i thought i'd mention it to everyone just to remind you to REALLY question the sales man about what the warranty covers and what the MAXIMUIM CLAIMS LIABILITY LIMIT is when thinking about buying a motor from a garage. At this point i want to say it isn't the warranty company that i have the grievance with but the garage that i bought the car from.I won't mention names but when buying the car from this garage i was assured more than 4 times that the warranty covered engine, gearbox, turbo, transmission etc etc. I then paid to extend the warranty to 12 months to insure hassle free motoring by avoiding wallet destroying repair bills.I can live with a motors that have problems but like most i hate the repair bills. 2 months on i started to have problems with the g/box."No problem" i thought coz im covered by the warranty. However after a phone call to the warranty company i was told "your policy doesn't cover the G/box" HOWEVER this isn't the problem because the garage eventually phoned the WC and sorted the cover out.The problem is that the warranty is limited to JUST £300 per claim. That doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the repair bills on a scoob. I should have spent more time asking the sales man about the full in's and out's of the warranty but i was too bloody set on buying the scoob that i had my heart set on.Personally i think its a joke that a Jap Import Specialist who has hundreds of jap motors for sale only supplies what i can only describe as a pathetic excuse for a warranty. Trading Standards are dealing it with it at the moment but im not holding my breath.[] Do i feel like a right fool? -YES Do i feel angry and p**sed off? -YES Do I have a large repair bill to pay at the end of the week? -YES Do I want to sell the motor? - NO CHANCE!!!!!!!!![]

The back roads from Ayr down to Newton Stewart. Some really fast strentches of road with a couiple of surprises. The 77 used to be a fantastic road but the new SPEC speed camera's have made the road a bit of mare now.[]

I'd suggest jumping into your local friendly garage and get them to buzz the nuts off with an air gun mate. Then once out put some copper slip onto the threads then put the wheel back on.Shouldn't seize in again.

Kames sounds like I cracking day.The wee man will love it.[]. won't bother with the show'n'shine though,a bit to go yet before that.[]

i wouldn't say no![] would love to be taken a blast in a classic scoob by someone that really knows how to drive one to its limits.

i'll second that []

Shame really coz everyone i've met and talked to wether in person or over the PC has been great, especially at the meets where the whole family was made welcome and when discussing future runs familys coming along for the run have been taken into consideration. Del keep up the good work mate it looked like a cracking day, really gutted i missed it especially as it went through Girvan (pics of the motors down Girvan Harbour?!).

Whats with the aggro people????I thought this site was for people to share their enjoyment and pleasure of Subaru ownership not to snipe and bicker at one another. I may be new and may not know the hidden alliances and past history but surely to f*@k that all this aggro is detrimental to Scottish Scoobs!?

You have a good day people?Heard you all we'll before I saw you all cruising past the house. The sound of a group of well looked after scoobs driving by with their exhaust barbling is Heaven!!![] Looking nice people!turning loads of heads! hope to be on the next one []

Try Bell mate, mine was about £460 fully comp and ive only got 3 years NCB.
-
I would be more likely to buy a scoob that had a sevice history from the likes of Greers than a Dealers but thats just my opinion[]
-
Can't help on the fuel pump and regulator issue but i recon you could get a sump from a breaker for a pretty decent price.Try findapart.co.uk ect and im sure you'll come up with something.

just caught the garage 10 mins ago before it shut [:-*] just as well as the wife would have killed me![] -
IMHO its totally killed that bit of magic that the classic has, but then again life would be boring if we all had same taste.[:|]

Got to agree with Wilky. My synchro's shot and going to get sorted at Greers.IMHO they are the only peolpe that i would trust with my car and their costs are spot on.As Wilky said realistic chat, realist price their experiences and knowledge is worth every penny.
