  1. How you doing mate Ive got the STI3 myself and spoke to AndyF about the next step. What your going to do is what he strongly advised then allowing you a good basis for some futher tuning.
  2. Nasty one mate!!! Was the culprit thrashing it? My brother-in-law lent me hisd 380 bhp sapp cossie last year and the piston decided to punch a hole threw its-self.In total it was going to cost about 2K at Greers for a rebuild to the same spec.He ended up selling the motor for abou 2.5K I felt really bad.Fortunately my brother-in-law knows i treat other peoples motors with respect and that i wasn't to blame!

  4. Greers in Ayrshire did a timing belt, plugs, engine oil and filter change and diff and gearbox oil change for £280.IMHO any car you buy you should do a full service for peace of mind!

  10. well on top of the hassle and cost of having to get the g/box sorted after a trip up to our friends at Greers it turns out my MAF is f@#ked!not the best start to the year. Want to say thanks to Bill up at Greers coz he didn't charge a penny for hooking the motor up and finding out what was wrong with the motor.Nice to know there is still some A1 garages and staff about.
  11. think it will look the part.my mate did some made photo shop thing with my car with grey graphics and the grey makes it really nice so go for it.

  13. any idea people which is gonna be the cheaper option for a gearbox on anSTI3?Sure the synchromesh is on it's way and after a heated talk with warranty people looks like im gonna have to pay with it out of my own pocket.Obviously with the box out i might aswell upgrade the clutch but not sure which is gonna be the cheapest, get the box stripped and rebuilt or try and source a refurbished one.Any help much appreciated.

  15. cheers mate,will do.
  16. Pretty sure my STI3 has developed a misfire, put the power on gradually and its fine until about 6000 rpm then hits flat spots. If i plant it then it miss pretty bad.The motor is pretty standard and runs optimax and millers. Not wanting to damage the motor so not getting the full fun factor.Going to phone Greers tomorrow and try and book it in for monday. The cars away on Friday to get some body work done so the last thing I need is something thats gonna cost £££s.so any help would be greatly appreciated.cheers
