  1. I remember now, Id been sat behind someone id let out of a gap for half the M26 and as soon as I pass him, I had you behind me. I wss making the same mistake twice.....
  2. Ive had two GTT's. One mildly modded (150-ish) Red one and one sorted (220-ish) Black one. Good fun in short bursts, but unreliable over a distance or on track. My black one went on to win the FWD 1/4mile record for its new owner, with a few extra tweeks. Not the best pictures:
  3. Yup, that was me Col. In the 'Discreet' car!!!!! What were you in? I often hustle along if I think im holding someone up behind me (or I have a GTI-esque car following me) .
  4. Don't lend him your keys in 14 years then!!! Like father like son
  5. Be careful of small children sheltering from the rain in your tail pipe!!!
  6. Cheeky git!! I don't intend to live to a 100!! Im a 60's baby!!!
  7. Yup, Happy birthday. Obviously, your parents went on Holday the same time of year as mine (just a LOT of years later!)
  8. Cheers Peeps! I would have thanked you yesterday, but ive been to Barcelona for the weekend. Its the big one for me, so im not sure if im happy or commiserating. I checked last night when I got home and there was no GT2 on the drive, so I guess there is also no mid-life crisis for me either Apparently, I am having a bit of a 'DO' Saturday night, but its the same night as Shiralee's, which is a bit of bad planning on both our parents side. Still if anyone is around in the Lordswood/Chatham way at the weekend, give me a PM. Andy
  9. After having them on my Type r and driving that on Track I am a big fan of AP's. Size wise I thing 330mm/4pots will be adequate as your are not racing in any series (I dont think, and will be able to slow down occasionally). 6pots and bigger brakes if you were going out for more than 20 laps at a time.

    Three Years

I have been a member of the MLR, before the EVO's came along. I wouldn't buy one now - Too many plonkers driving them who think they have talent. A proper Lancer was RWD.
  11. Engine and drivetrain swap party anyone???? Bring a bottle and your tools I recon with enough hands, it will be done and running in a day.

  13. I have just worked out that next week will be three years since I bought my Newage off of Bob Rawle. It is scary how time has flown and how little of my modding plan actuaully came to happen. (But a money pit house that needed everything done after 6 months didn't really help ) But THREE YEARS!! Where has that time gone?? I always said I would sell after three, just as I did with the last one, I even had a good offer out of the blue last year, but turned it down as too soon. Apart from a newer one at huge cost (where I can better spend the money on other things), what else comes close to this much fun??
  14. Would like to do this, buts the wifeys Birthday today and we have people coming round in the evening Not that my car even has a Burble!
  15. I will have to wait and see how much the tax man leaves me in April. And then see what the re-sales are like on Blobeyes. I need to get 'something', I just dont know if its a replacement for the Impreza, a newer Forester and keep the STI, or a bigger something to replace the clio. Whatever, I do, it wont be a Chavtastic Evo.- I prefer to drive the car, not the computer
  16. Do you need it Ian, For the minimal (percentage wise) increase in power and torque, are you willling to have more lag in your car. You have considerably over 300 already.
  17. It stops your car pinking if the map is designed for higher ron petrol. In a standard uk it does nothing. In a JDM import it is advisable if the car has not been remapped from the 100ron jap petrol to uk 97 or 98. As with all things, no car/engine is the exactly same for a particular model.
  18. I know someone ocal who ran HKS headers unwrapped for 4 years without a problem. The concept is to stop the generated heat from damaging wiring etc. Although some people will say that 'someone' told them it was a performance enhancement. 20BHP was the normal upgrade for tubular headers. 10BHp fir the standard ones if they are ported out just enough to releive the flow, but not slow it down by enlarging the bore size. (its all abbout taking out the 'step ups' in the direction of flow where the parts are clamped together, but not the 'step downs' if that makes sense? Unequal keeps the chugga-chugga burble, equal length looses it.
  19. AND a big grin! I know I do every time I come through Bracknell on the way home!
  20. Im certainly interested. But, its always date dependent with me, as I have kids who are booked up in advance on Fottie leagues and tournaments.
  21. Ive got a set of 17in STI8 wheels with legal tyres. They are sitting round the side of my house, in the 'they might come in handy one day' section.
  22. I remember that someone did this to a 5GTT when I was dragging one myself. Incredibly complicated planning to get everything lined up and working together. Fecking quick though! In a straight line that is, never saw it take a corner! Twas a good night Friday, but ruddy cold!!!
  23. 208Bhp Honest guv, it has never gone that fast before!!
  24. Legally, call the police re the damage and then... Get your girlfriend to get a restraining order put on him, on the strength of the text and your statement. Personally~, I can think of a few solutions under £200.
  25. VickyK, spotted by Mrs HOL tonight pulling (sqeezing ) in at the top of Blue Bell Hill.
