Thats actually the first time I have seen your car Hugh! Which is the 'dry weather car' - The Scoob or the Robin Hood?
-
Oh dear!! Soo many people who don't realise they have the wrong idea!! PS. Im a Kent Scoobies (the club) member of 7 years!!! I use this SIDC site, 22B, Scoobynet and also recently KentScoobies own forum. (Im not sure what that means, but im sure someone will claim that I secretly steal all your petrol so you have crap MPG - Some of the claims* people are making on here are that outlandish!)

Stew, that may be harder than you think as the Brembos really stick out and a lot of OZ and other big make alloys that easily fit a WRX, WILL NOT fit the brembo braked cars. Don't buy anything online until you have confirmed that they will fit. In terms of Anthrcite, if you look at Granbys car, he has a set of Newage alloys as fitted to the WR1, when they were imported. As a result they are very rare, so its unlikely you will find a set, but if you find a cheap set of kerbed gold Newage STI wheels Lepsons will repair and paint them for about £200.00. And you gurantee they will fit.

Yogi, When you read this, I suggest you approach J-K or myself and 'verbally' get the true facts before posting again. Plenty of people you know have our mobile numbers. Nobody wants a ying-yang post based on factual inacuracies. Andy

Would have thought there would have been more 'supporters' of this? I can't do it myself as its the same day as the MLR and the EVO boys are hosting a big after race party. Is it the bowling putting people off, or just the location?? Ashfaod IS pretty central in Kent?? Although, Chatham, Maidstone and some ofthe other larger town do have lanes.

GTS???? Can't see an 'R' badge??

Yogi, Some of us have actually stood up for you in the past other members complained about you being a bit childish!! (Im beginning to regret putting my weight behind your case!)- When are you going to wise up and realise that KentScoobies is a club and not a website???? Stop trying to split the Kent Scoobies club by making unsubstantiated claims and start acting like you want the Kent Subaru community to continue. There is no hidden agenda by kent Scoobies to take over (over what, I have no idea??), people are not disappearing in the middle of the night - taken by some sort of secret police!!! FFS!! J-K actually knows what he is talking about when he talks about the start of Kent Scoobies and where the club has wanted to be, all you seem to know about is what you have either guessed wrongly, or been fed by some other pl**ker!! I will say it again - Kent Scoobies is a Club set up for Kent Subaru owners, by KENT owners for KENT owners. The SIDC is a much bigger national Club that have kindly allowed us to squat on their Kent regional Forum. To date both the SIDC Kent area reps have been KS members and have actively arranged the KS attendance to SIDC nationa events and also stepped up to the plate to arrange local events when no-one else seemed bothered to do so.

Curry Go-Karting Curry More curry That place in Maidstone that has that big scalextric set-up that you can rent Bowling All good ideas, but we need to think about safe parking as some our cars are more secure than others*, (or some way of parking the cars so that they are parked so tight, no-one could open door to nick things/or the car). The ace of spice is good for curry as it has a big car park. Chatham bowling has the Pentagon, Lordswood bowling and snooker has a car park, but far from secure. Not sure about the Scalextric place. Buckmore & Sittingbourne Karting have good car parks. We did a chinese meal in a Burham Pub ones, that was pretty good, as was notcutts Chinese. Other ideas were paint ball and quasar (Canterbury). * Was everybodies cars ok at the Ice Rink.

A few of us sat down last night to come up with some ideas for fun events. We came up with a few, But really everybody should be allowed to contribute. I think Ice Skating was just the right type of idea. The question is would people prefer to do something like that, rather than meet in a pub each month?

over 500bhp and 40mpg would be nice too!!
-
Buy Deaniage's engine. you'll never have a problem again.
-
Apart from 6years in Hants, I was born and bred here, but schooled in Maidstone. I live in Swallow Rise for 6years, including 2 Silver Scoobies.

Its a great idea, But a shame it wasn't a non Friday.

I only use that garage for Fuses and electical connectors was well. I was actually on my way to the old village Supermaket (Now a gift shop called PERMARK so they didn't have to pay for a new sign!) for a Birthday card. You must be fairly local then?

Black Bugeye in Walderslade Village, about 4.45pm last night. It had a SN Sticker on the back. I think it was a WRX as it was debadged but with a bigger boot spoiler. Followed you in my Forester commuter car into the village about 4.45pm where you pulled into the garage . I thought it was a bit naughty as they only do 97 Ron in that garage!

LOL, I did an 80's one with ESC a few years back. It was a scream. All I can say is that the Wombles were a babe magnet!!
-
All I can say is that a few of us ‘Oldies’ are aware that people are unhappy and we are discussing ways in which to: i) Address some of the issues people are raising ii) Take away some of the distractions/barriers that seem to be in place – This may result in some surprises! Can I suggest that people have a look at this thread as a start? http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=134731 Lets look to see what we can all do - to turn things around, rather than sit on the sidelines watching the game go downhill.

Ok, so everyone is down and feeling kind of low. As a consequence nobody is feeling very pro-active in suggesting things to do. The whole reason for getting SIDC to host a message board for us*, was so that members could do things like suggest local events etc. This is essentially the model that the ESC and MLR run, very successfully. The reason being that at the time there was concern that all the events were only one persons idea’s. (Now we all seem to be waiting for ‘one’ person). So, how about some suggestions? (good ones) Off the top of my head, I can think of a number that anyone could organise. BBQ in one of the local parks. Seaside Town Cruise (in Cars) Treasure Hunt (in Cars) Pub Run (in Cars) French Run (In Cars) Brands Hatch Race event Lydden Race event Trax/Tract days at Brands Time Attack Race Events Winter weekend at Butlins (70’s, 80’s, 90’s Theme etc..) Nürburgring Trip Ten Pin Bowling Go-Karting Buckmore/Lydd/Sittingborne Snooker Etc… All it needs is for someone who wants to have a go, put forward a suggestion.

All I can say, is watch this space! There has always been a KS Organiser/Figurehead and an SIDC Regional Representative. At times it has been the same person, at other times - two different people, carrying out different roles. Granby's resignation (unless we convince him to come back) has left a vacancy for SIDC Regional Representative for the Kent Area, http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?act=ann...;f=61&id=21 Anyone can apply and be seconded, but you obviously have to be a member of the SIDC to fill an SIDC role. This is part of the point that I think Dean 'was' trying to get across. If anyone wants to put themselves forward for the RO role??? - Put your name up. You will have some bulletin board responsibilities and obviously co-ordinate the KS attendance to National events.
-
I think its sad that Granby has stepped down as the Kent RO for the SIDC. But, KS isn't actually a subset of the SIDC (which is a highly recognised national club in its own right and hence has regional organisers through-out the country) and we were an existing club before a deal was struck to host our message board on the SIDC site (I think we were the second, after scottish scoobies), - rather than set up and run our own. Its all just got a bit confusing - especially to the newer Subaru owners of Kent.

Any car prepping hints/knowledge appreciated Phil. Andy

It's a Lancer Register originated event. I have been on that site longer than Sidc or SN. We may have a space for you if interested. But there is a cost of £150 involved. I've done some of the MLR events in the past and been quite welcomed. So it should be a good laugh.
-
I'm in it I know who won it last time. Looking forward to it.
-
Sorry, I did get this, but didn't realise it was you. I don't add people as rule since I had someone rant at me for killing him 6/7 times. I will add you this evening though, with SIDC in the message. Andy

Blue UK Newage (My03 on a private plate) in Lordswood about 10.00am Saturday Morning. Saw the same car a bit later, in the Luton road car wash.
