  1. Lovely car mate! Theres a hatch local to me thats on its fifth engine!
  2. Yes i agree with you. I can honestly say im happy with the way ive went and where im at with the car. But I must stop looking at new steering wheels and Recaro Speed seats
  3. Dont worry Frank, nothing drastic. Im just thinking on changing to a front mount. Keep changing my mind in my head. Would rather do it now before it gets mapped. I can get my money back on the newage top mount. I will probably change my mind again. Thats the only thing that i cant decide on. Im very happy with the car as it is, extremely happy actually! Only other things to be done is suspension parts like we spoke about and into the bodyshop to get a couple of bits that annoy me sorted out. After that i intend to enjoy it. Its exactly the way i want it
  4. Hi mate. So far so good, really happy with it. Ive changed my mind on something already tho haha The car feels perfect, very smooth, quiet and the engine really wants to go, done 540miles so far, so not long now until mapping. Whats the hold up with your mapping?
  5. I forgot i had this picture on my phone. I will get a picture later on of it back on the car.
  6. I got my car back from SW on Sunday. Extremely happy with the car and already put 200miles on it. (80miles done by Frank, Thanks for that) I was advised that my engine mounts were pretty shot so i got home and started searching for something. RCM and Lateral etc stock the group N mounts but i found these Hardrace ones getting good reviews on a few sites. http://www.apexperformance.co.uk/catalog/images/5835sm.jpg Also Bren at Apex Performance was doing a GB on scoobynet for them at £99! That includes the gearbox mount and pitch stop. Bargain! I ordered them yesterday at half 3 and they are already at the house. Another trader to add to the list Just thought i would let you all know incase anyone else is on the lookout for them soon. Cheers Dan
  7. You seem very pleased, very good result
  8. Is Apexi power fc still available?
  9. Looks a lovely example Jim. Hard to find with mileage like that now.
  10. It's the P1 getting the 2.1 build. Shouldn't be long now.
  11. I'm the same as you Jim. My car is in there just now. I went on the feedback from on here and a recommendation from braveheart. Steve is a top bloke. I'm very happy I put the car into SW.
  12. Prices are in this thread http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...mp;hl=group+buy
  13. CDF Racing are offering 15% off KW products http://bbs.scoobynet.com/trader-announceme...r-from-cdf.html
  14. Check out viper performance hoses for their reducers
  15. Good luck at TOTB Chris. What did you do with your old catch tank? as my car is up at SW and a catch can is on my to get list
  16. Hawkeye looks good as it is. Plus the spoiler will be worth a fair bit and will sell fast on here, scoobynet etc.
  17. Not good news about the rb5 shell. But 2 door will look good, widebody?
  18. Ive noticed on a few threads this seems to be a running joke between you both
  19. Will ring Steve later on in the week to see where we are at. Think its getting a base map put on it for running in on Simtek. My dad said it was pretty dusty when he was up, as i expected, its been sitting inside for a good few weeks now. At least it hides the couple of rust spots on it. Those will be getting dealt with once i get the car back. If i can ever stop driving it haha.
  20. I certainly am Frank. Shouldnt be to long now, then need to run it in. I will have that done in no time tho
  21. Straightening the fins on my old intercooler . . . boring!
  22. When it worked out as good as it did, we had a look on ebay at how much the manifolds go for. Trouble is there are that many different types. Does anyone know what types there are and what to look for?
  23. Cheers guys. It really does look good. I couldnt stop laughing when he told me where it was. I phoned for a report on how it was going, he replied "its cooking on the barby for an hour" haha
  24. Just thought i would share this with you. I cant take any credit for it unfortunetly. My dad enjoys these types of projects so i was quite happy to let him get on with it While the engine is stripped i thought it best to get the manifold stripped and freshened up. It was in the usual sorry state, paint flaking off etc My dad followed this guide which is very helpful http://www.carldavey.co.uk/article.php?id=1 The manifold was stripped using Nitromors and pressure washed, which left it looking like this We decided to go for the VHT in wrinkle black (seems to be the choice now the red is more orange in colour) The dilema was how to heat it up, a heat gun would take to long and he didnt fancy putting it in the oven for obvious reasons. Then a brainwave struck him . . . This worked a treat and the manifold looks great again. Unfortunetly he was so proud of his work and admired it that much that he forgot to take a finished article picture. Nevermind, it looks brilliant and i will get a picture of it once its back on the car. Cheers Dan
