Wishing you both all the best!

There are quite a few post up on here from time to time.

Ronnie should be there this time [] Spaces are selling out very quickly for this event, and at the current rate the event will be full up by the end of this week and we'll be onto reserve lists. John
-
Hope you're back up and running at he head of the field again soon! John
-
This is now available to buy on-line at http://shop.sidc.co.uk under the track day section. If you are interested, then I would book up quickly as it's very likely this one will sell out in a very short space of time! See you all there. John

All photos courtesy of Neil Scott (our ex Perth RO from a few years back) These are not the full size images. Malky - if you would like a copy of the full size images, just let me know and I'll put Neil in touch with you. John

Just a short note to say that Alastair McDermott (forum name Ally- has been appointed as the Glasgow area Regional Organiser. Ally has been sorting out some of the recent meetings, and having chatted to him on Friday it was obvious that he was very keen to continue the excellent work done by Billy. I'm sure you'll all join me in welcoming him to this "challenging" role, and give him your full support. John

Just echoing other comments. I hope it's not as hard and expensive to fix is it first looks, but the main thing is that you are OK. I have seen some other photos showing a sequence when the fire started before the hairpin. I'll see if I can get a copy of them for you. John

Andy - I touch goats [] Looks like we could have two Ferrari's taking part tomorrow, as well as some nice Porsche's as well. As expected, the majority of the field this time are Elises and Exiges, in a multitude of different colours. Should make for some excellent photo and passenger lap opportunities [] John

Saturday 3rd June, Performance Car show with a difference!
johns replied to johns's topic in Scottish Scoobies
The more the merrier [] If you do come along, please be aware that there will be lots of kids running around the streets etc, so please drive very carefully. John -
It's always best to stick to the speed limits between Dundee and Aberdeen, as there are plenty of speed cameras, and as mentioned, there are regularly extra vans and cars in between the cameras. There's also a few in Aberdeen itself. If you area heading over Anderson Drive, and going out the main road towards Inverurie, then there are 3 cameras you need to wory about. There are two about 1/2 mile along the A96 Inverurie road after the busy Haudagan (sp?) roundabout. One about 100 yards beyond a set of lights in the 40mph zone, and another not much further along in the 30mph zone (this second one is often well hidden by parked vans etc at the shops), and just beyond that there's a main police station. A few miles beyond the airport roundabout on the A96, there's another camera in the middle of the road (they turn it around to look at different directions from time to time), but this is in a 70 zone, and at a bad junction which no-one ever speeds past anyway. After that, then there's nothing, but the police do at times sit at the side of the A96 in places where it's easy/tempting to creep above the speed limit. There are plenty of interesting roads in the area that are fun to drive on. John

Wheels Around can be contacted on 07711 577148. I've not had time to call Ronnie yet, but he does know about the date. John

No. Simple rule is if it was as good as they claim, car manufacturers would install this stuff from new, and recommend it's used at every service after that. In most cases, products like this do no damage, but offer very litle (if any) in terms of advantages. John

Keith, it's in the car park of the medical centre, just 50 yards from the Town Hall. On your right as you go up Forest Road. See you there. John -
Saturday 3rd June, Performance Car show with a difference!
johns replied to johns's topic in Scottish Scoobies
It's OK, we've got that angle covered and checked [] None of the drivers taking part will be accepting any money or gifts in any way, nor will they receive any compensation or reward of any sort. People will be voluntarily donating money to a charity, and there will be no contract (implied or otherwise) in place to take people out in any car. Their receipt will simply thank them for making a donation to charity. John -
Can't wait to see it in action!

Saturday 3rd June, Performance Car show with a difference!

Those of you who come along to the monthly Aberdeen meets will alrady know about this one. I'm putting on a performance car show as part of the Kintore Summer Festival on Saturday June 3rd. Starting at about 12pm. The idea is that we'll have a selection of cars (not just Subaru's) on display for about an hour os so, allowing people to look around them, ask questions etc. Then, in exchange for donations to charity (I'll print tickets/receipts etc), memebers of the public can go for a short 5 minute passenger ride in the car of their choice around the town. Everything will be done at strictly speed limits or below, so there will be no showing off of driving skills, people taking risks etc. It's just to give people the chance to say that they were a passenger in X, Y or Z at the weekend, get some photos taken etc. We'll do this for another hour or so, depending on demand. I'm looking for a few volunteers to have their cars as part of this show. a) It won't cost you anything to take part You'll be helping to raise money for charity (most likely Northsound Radio's Cash for Kids appeal) c) There is a chance you might get some free food (nearby BBQ) d) You must be willing to take passengers out if requested. I live just 5 minutes walk from where the show will be taking place, and can offer people facilities to wash/dry their cars etc if wanted, and also as a place to meet up. Interested, or know anyone with a performance car who might be interested, then please send me an email on john@sidc.co.uk Cheers John -
None left now! If anyone wants to take part, please drop me a note and I'll let you know about paying by cheque. There are a couple of slots available as some people have dropped out after buying on-line. John
-
Yes, good drivers are always welcome. I wouldn't leave it too long - only a few slots remaining now. John

Great stuff Russell, it's been quite a few years since you've managed to get alogn to one of our track events! John
-
Ken, if my car has the same part, then your welcome to pop around to my house or work to try it. John

Just a reminder that our next event will be on Friday 9th June at Knockhill. Track open from 1pm to 5pm for 4 hours open pit lane fun. Being on a week day, it means that this event will be a bit quieter than the usual weekend ones, so ideal for novices who are worried about taking to the track with lots of experienced drivers. Also perfect for more experienced people who will apreciate the quieter track to get many un-interrupted laps without passing any cars to hone their lines to perfection. Book on-line now at http://shop.sidc.co.uk You'll find the event under Track Events, and it's called Mexitowers, as it's being run in conjunction with the Elise owners who have a whole weekend event on by the same name (tour Scotland all weekend, big party at the end). Hope to see lots of you there. John

Hi Audrey, welcome to the forums. Must thank you for the excellent reception at JOG. I didn't think an Impreza boot cold hold so much food, fresh fruit, soft drinks etc! Nice to meet many of the other local owners also. It's been a few years since we've done an event this far north, and it won't be the last! Hope to see you all at some of our future events this year. John
